“uh...thanks. didn’t think treasure hoarders were that smart.” go to mondstadt, the goddess had said, it’d be perfectly fine, she said. and yet, he nearly got a new ever-bleeding wound from the first encounter with fucking treasure hoarders of all things.
still, he wasn’t going to discard the opportunity. “you from mondstadt? i, uh, have some business there.” he’d be honest if needed, but frankly, talking about going to find a specific grave and fulfilling some dead guy’s last wishes was still weird.

How foolish was it of them to get so caught up in their emotions... Yet it was the way they were. When Eivor makes alliances, they also create bonds that could not be broken, but it was not them who broke it. The alliance they had made became friends with the Fatui, and tried to bring them into their affairs. They could not allow that. Now they are just outside the city of Mondstadt, having met Kaeya at the crossroads. They had been quiet about what had bothered them for awhile, but they were glad he invited them to the tavern. A small dip of their head, and a low hum of approval. ❝... You’re right. I could use some mead.❞ They replied, continuing forward into the city until they came into the tavern. Once they had finished their drinks, they both stumbled out of there in a better mood, but they would no doubt remember it when they sober up in the morning.
@khaenreign asked: * no one mourns the wicked // enjou!
wicked soundtrack (2013) lyrics as sentence prompts | accepting!
"hm. i wouldn’t think so. good people get buried and sent off for much less than the wicked do.” enjou shifted uncomfortably, not from the remark, but from the fact he was forced to use his human form. it was always such a bother to use it, with how pitiful it was compared to how his true potential shone through as a “lector”.
staring into his glass, he then said, “or perhaps celestia wants us to think the good die young, so they can point at those long-lived and call them wicked.”

A quiet hum filled the space behind Lumine as she walked, first to wander through the halls of the Knights headquarters, and helpfully learning that Kaeya was out, before she meandered the streets in search of him. Upon catching sight of him, she paused for a moment to make sure the gift was hidden behind their back before they approached him, making sure to do so from his left side. With a wave of one hand, they offered a small, soft smile as they asked, "Would you close your eyes, Kaeya? I have a surprise, and I promise it's not bad." Delighted when he indulged them, she slipped the glaze lily into his hair and tucked it behind his right ear. "You can open them now."
With a small sound of delight, her smile grew a little bigger, and her eyes shone a little brighter. "I knew it. Glaze lilies look practically perfect in your hair." With a small mirror, they cocked their head to the side a little as they asked. "Would you like to take a look?"

As she walked through Mondstat, Lumine hummed quietly to herself as Paimon floated around her head, delighted chatter over being able to eat at the Good Hunter again only partially heard as of now considering how many times they'd heard it on their back to the city. Though that was the goal, she paused upon seeing the familiar blue hair of the Calvary Captain. Since she knew well enough that Paimon would complain if she had to wait too long for their meal, Lumine passed enough mora over to her small companion to truly enjoy herself before making her way towards the path that led to Angel's Share. "Hello Captain Kaeya," though her expression doesn't seem to change much, there's a hint of a smile on the edges of her lips that accompanies the wave she gave him. "I hope the city has been at least somewhat safer since Dvalin has come to peace."
Even if that were the case, she wondered if that would have given either him or Jean a chance to actually rest and relax. Not that it would have changed the offer that slipped out almost on instinct, though this time it was only genuine. "Is there anything I can do to help still? Or should I ask tomorrow, if you are off to rest in the Angel's Share?"

liyue harbor in the daytime could be described best as “bustling”. store owners with their wares, eagerly haggling with customers, all to determine the balance between profit for the owner and the amount of money a customer was willing to spend. for the truly exorbitant prices or dangerous goods, contracts would be drawn up, their terms spelled out, and sometimes a lawyer brought in.
today, for zhongli, it was white noise.
his pace hadn’t changed, but even hu tao had remarked on the spring in his step that he seemed to show today. perhaps it was the way he’d remarked about seeing her later, before she reminded him that she would be taking care of a client that evening; she was likely going to be out even when he returned to wangsheng to check their schedules for the next day.
“oh, yes, i seemed to have forgotten.” a rare occasion, although neither of them acknowledged that fact. “very well. do take care of yourself, director.”
he’d left the funeral parlor soon after, not even noticing the giggle that hu tao had let out as he departed. she knew very well why he was so excited.
as zhongli made his way through the harbor, he would soon find the man he was looking for, his back to him. his starlight was certainly hard to miss, blues and whites interspersed with gold practically a northern star to yearning eyes.
“there you are, my love,” zhongli greeted as he drew close. “i certainly hope your travels went smoothly.”
