1. Do you prefer traditional drawing, or digital?I don’t know if I could say I really have a preference. I’ve always been more accustomed to using traditional media, and I’ve certainly used traditional media a lot more that I’ve ever used digital, but I have been using digital a lot more, as of late. This is mainly because I don’t think I’ve got the hang of it just yet, and I’d really like to get better at using it. And then when I draw traditionally, I have a really heavy hand? So when I draw and then take a picture of it, the white balance of the camera will accentuate those really dark parts and ignore the lighter parts and it’s just a mess when not looked at in person. Digital is a lot more forgiving and that’s sometimes nicer to deal with. I enjoy both, though, for their own separate reasons.
2. How long have you been drawing?Honestly for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved drawing. I’ve always loved animation, and I’ve always wanted to create things and make art. I think I was lucky enough to have a family that was amazed at my artistic ability, too, because when it comes to art and when it comes to producing images, I take so much time and I barely produce anything worthwhile, and they still praised me endlessly. I mean, I look back a few years ago and the improvement is hardly that much better, but because people said I was good at it, I kept up with it, and I actually see the improvements and I amaze myself. Slow and steady, but I think I’m going to eventually reach the goal I’ve always wanted.
3. How many classes have you taken?I have taken Drawing from Still Life, Figure Drawing I-III, Painting I & II, and a Digital Painting class. I’ve also taken a Graphic Design class, which I consider to have been useful. These classes have done wonders to my art style and progress in such a short time, but being without figure drawing every other day really takes it’s toll on my art, too.
4. Do you have a Deviantart, personal website, or art blog?I have a very OLD deviantart, that harbors my very old and very awful twilight fanart on it. But no, I don’t have a website for the time being. I’d like to, eventually.
5. What’s your favorite thing to draw?People and scenarios, for sure. I liked illustrating book descriptions when I was younger and if I read something or hear something that sticks with me, I want to draw that. When I do live sketching with models, I always liked drawing stomachs? Dips in the human body and accentuating curves. Ugh, I love it. And I love drawing hands! I just hate when they come out bad. But my god, when they come out nice *_____*
6. What’s your least favorite thing to draw?Ears? Idk I squiggle those so fast lmao. I’m not very good at drawing animals, either. Objects? I just need to practice and maybe I’ll like them.
7. How often do you use references?Whenever I can and nearly all the time. It really makes the difference.
8. Do you draw professionally, or just for fun?I draw for fun and for myself. I have a dream where I’m an animation artist for some company, but I need to get better and practice more. Maybe actually take an animation class.
9. How much time do you spend drawing on an average day?On an average day 0-5. Mostly 0. This is why I don’t improve. Lmao.
10. Are you confident about your art?I am! Surprisingly. I’ve gotten SO MUCH BETTER, and I am so proud of myself. I am even experimenting lately, and I love the results! It feels so great. I’m doing so well. I just want to keep practicing as much as possible.
11. How many art-related blogs do you follow?It’s hard to say! I know I follow a few blogs on tumblr; definitely over 35 are probably artists of some sort. I follow over 60+ ones on twitter, too. I love supporting artists. :)
12. Is it okay for people to ask about your process?Absolutely!
13. Do you prefer to keep your art personal, or do you like drawing for other people?I mostly draw for myself, but chances are that if I like you, or something you have created, I will draw something for you as a sort of surprise and my showing you my appreciation. I love to draw for people and I love when people draw things for me, too. A lot of my friends who were much better artists than me in school would draw for me all the time and I thought that was such a unique expression of love, so when I draw art for someone else, that’s my expression of love to that person.
14. Do you ever collaborate with others?I’ve never! I don’t think I have any artist friends who are mutual, lmao. Hopefully some day! That could be a lot of fun (*´ω｀*)
15. How much does an average piece take you to complete?It really depends on what I’m drawing. And sometimes it depends on how inspired I am, and how much effort I actually want to put into something.. and if I’m having a bad drawing day, that’s just never going to see the light of day. I rarely “complete” drawings. I need to be so inspired to do that.
16. Do you draw more today than you did in the past, or do you draw less?Another thing that’s hard to say! I always joke and say that I have never drawn more than when I was into Twilight, but I have been producing so many other types of images for my original character, that she could probably rival that obsession I had. On top of just art, though, I’m writing for her and making other visual graphics, so who knows. Probably less. I have responsibilities now and I’m not stealing computer paper all the time.
17. Do you think you’re justified in giving other people art advice?To an extent, and only if it’s asked of me. I would never flat out give a person advice if they aren’t looking for it. I’ve participated in plenty of art critiques and had moments where I have had the strongest art piece up and other times where my piece was easily the weakest.
18. What are you currently trying to improve on?Inking and line art! Finishing pieces! Color relationships and removing lines completely. Pushing value in my coloring. All sorts of things that I am slowly very slowly getting better at.
19. What is the most difficult thing for you to draw?Lately I’ve been struggling with my limbs looking relaxed and legs coming out decent, but I think I’m just rusty on the human figure. I need to practice more. Hair is kind of hard to draw. Expressive eyes and mouths. (!@IUEK@#) It varies.
20. What is the easiest thing for you to drawNoses, necks, jaws, most facial features. I love painting a good face. I wish I did more portraits.
21. Do you like to challenge myself?Yes! That’s why I’ve been experimenting with style some! And that’s why I’m attempting inktober since I’ve never done it before and I don’t ink my drawings ever. It’s fun to see how much better I’ve gotten at it since maybe 2009, simply from observation and the new knowledge I’ve gotten from school, but I’m definitely no expert. Have to make mistakes to get better.
22. Are you confident that you’re improving steadily?At various steadiness, but yet, I’m confident that I’ve improved. It’s a wonderful feeling.
23. Do you draw more fanart, or more original art?Uh… I guess it’s a mix of both. Technically it’d be considered fanart if you draw art of your OC and her relationship with another muse, right? LMAO. It’s complicated!!! Sometimes I toss her into works of others???
24. Do you feel jealous when you see other people’s art, or inspired? (Be honest!)Inspired AF. I love how many different styles there are and I just want to adopt all of the styles into my repertoire!! I want to be as good as they are some day. *___*
25. Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?I can do both? I just can’t hold a conversation or listen to a book. It needs to be something formulaic or something I can ignore because I get way too distracted very easily.
26. For digital artists: what program(s) do you use?I use PaintTool Sai and Photoshop.
27. For digital artists: how man layers does a typical piece require?Idk, 10+?
28. For traditional artists: what medium do you like most?Pencil, colored pencil and conte. Charcoal is a mess, but I like it enough.
29. For traditional artists: How do you usually start on a big piece?Sketch for pencil/colored pencil (thought lines!!) and then go in with confident lines, or if it’s a painting, project image, then start laying down some paint and go from there, making the image tighter and neater.
30. What inspires you to not just make art, but to be a better artist?Just… people who love to do their craft. I like when it’s obvious that a person is passionate about something, whether they’re actually good at it or not. That makes me want to be a better artist, seeing people do what they love and not give up when things don’t go well or as planned. Practicing more and taking whatever it is they have and making the best of it.

Stranger Things is SO GOOD.
I’ve heard really good things about it but I don’t know much about the plot or even the specific genre. I only know that it stars Winona Ryder, some adorable kids and apparently has a girl that might be from another planet? I don’t even know but I want to find out.
I just read the look between Sansa and Theon as like, "What do you think?" Not forcing her character to look for his approval to make a decision... just that she and Theon had gone through some terrifying stuff in the minutes (hours?) before, counting on one another to get through it, and in that moment she was still in that space, perhaps wanting some reassurance. I feel like maybe it was to remind us of a possible rekindling familial relationship, not to undermine Sansa's growth?
I mean, I’m sure that this was the sentiment that they meant by the scene but I’ve been rewatching the show before the new season premiere and that specific shot of one character looking to another and receiving a nod was almost exclusively used with a king or a liege lord giving the okay. I think there was only one exception to that. So when I saw it, all those instances just came flooding back.
It’s a legit reading of the scene. That was what they meant to convey, I believe, but the execution was murky. They did wonderfully with the hug to show the growing relationship and the comfort they are finding in each other (and I can wax poetic about that. There was so much in that hug and I’m looking at it as reward for suffering through the messiness of their arc last season) They showed Sansa really relying on Theon and trusting him and having that beautiful familial ease with him. I just think that they could have found another way to handle that small part without making it like Sansa looking for Theon’s blessing.
