Well, here goes. Today begins my new comic project:
TRIGGERED: A Story of PTSD, a Plebiscite, and the Patriarchy
These next few pages are an introduction, which will take you through how this whole journey started.
Fair warning for anyone who plans to follow this comic: there are going to be some pretty heavy themes in this one. I know my comics have always been heavy on the mental health stuff, but this comic in particular will deal with issues of sexual violence, rape culture and the shame created by oppressive religion. You’ll be seeing me work through some things I’ve carried with me for a long time, and it often won’t be pretty. If you’re sensitive to this sort of content, read with caution. I will do my best to always tag my pages as best as possible, but I want you to be prepared for what the entire story is about. I don’t want anyone getting hurt by reading my pages.
Thank you to everyone who has followed my comics this far. I hope you’ll find something valuable in this new story. It’s not going to be easy to write, but I think it will be important.
