Household Haiku's: "It's been a long time. / Yet the feeling still remains. / I'm yours, and you're mine."
Offspring Meme, Khancroft.
The parents -
Who first brought up having/adopting kids?
Mycroft would have been the first to broach the proposition. Largely because while Khan has always been open and flexible to the idea of parenthood, Mycroft’s affairs required his own determination to settle first.
Which parent is most overprotective?
Khan is protective in very macro-cosmic senses, but Mycroft is overprotective recarding minutiae and the microcosm of childhood and parenting. Neither of them lack attention to detail, but Mycroft’s concern presides.
Which parent is most supportive?
Neither of them would want to miss out on a chance to support Scheiffer in any way, shape, or form.
Which parent expects the most from their child?
Inadvertently Mycroft, predominantly by simply setting a high precedent for intelligence and status. Though he doesn’t hold qualms over Scheiffer pursuing his own interests, he concerns himself deeply with the success of those endeavors, and doing whatever he can to facilitate them.
Which parent is more likely to spoil their child?
Khan and Mycroft share the guilt equally.
Which parent does the child go to to get their way?
Most often Khan. While Khan isn’t likely to disagree with Mycroft’s assertions, and vice versa, he can sometimes work around the emotions behind childish indignation. But very often they share the role of confidant and last resort equally.
Which parent is the best at singing lullabies?
Mycroft is actually fantastic as singing traditional English lullabies, though Khan is fond of lullaby duties himself.
Which parent finds it harder to let go?
They both have difficulties letting go for different reasons, but generally share the extent to which they grapple with those difficulties. In fact most often they resolve those problems together.
The kid -
What the kids name is and the meaning behind it.
Scheiffer, from the Germanic meaning “steward”.
What traits the kid has that doesn’t reflect their parents.
Rather unlike Khan and at times Mycroft, Scheiffer is decidedly a home-body. That is, he’s very much in love with their home on Mycroft’s estate, and with England in general. He’s very skeptical of his parents’ itchy feet.
What the kids favorite clothing style is.
Very much like his father, Scheiffer enjoys dressing nicely, predominantly because it makes him feel like he fits in with his father’s big fancy business affairs.
What their favorite cartoon is.
Thunderbirds.
What skills their parents try to pass down to them.
Mycroft often tries to pass along the Holmesian brilliance, and Khan works on instilling a sense of personal history and pride, but they both work together toward giving Scheiffer a sense of power, autonomy, and awareness which is fitting for his age.
What their future might be.
Given his creativity, intelligence, and work ethic, there’s very little that Scheiffer couldn’t do. Save perhaps work at a McDonalds or Tescos, but that only because it would be too far beneath him for his fathers to bear.
The family -
Who the child’s godparents are.
Anthea and James are the very proud and present godparents.
Do their parents plan on giving them any siblings?
Not immediately. They tend to give everything of themselves to the one they already have.
What is the child’s first pet?
Scheiffer’s first pet was the pre-existing resident at the estate, Theodore. Later joined by Tyv.
How do they get along with any extended family members?
Scheiffer loves visiting his Holmes grandparents, though he finds uncle Sherlock to be a bit odd at times. He doesn’t have much access to Khan’s family, and Khan is arguably closer to Mycroft’s than the other way around. With the exception of James, naturally.
Khancroft Supplemental: Scheiffer managing to stick an elf and Santa costume on Tyv and Theodore.
Khancroft Supplemental: The three huddling around the fire with Christmas movies and cocoa and kisses.
Khancroft Supplemental: Khan and Mycroft taking Scheiffer to cut his first Christmas tree.

Backroom Kisses.
“Good morning, Khan.”
“Good morning, Mycroft.”
The two men beamed at each other. It was their usual before-dawn meeting, when Khan would come to the restaurant to drop off Mycroft’s supply of produce for the day. This came to be Mycroft’s favorite hour for quite the obvious reason. Over the past few months the two had grown to be friends, with just the slightest hinting of something more. Light flirtation was passed easily between them, and today Mycroft was finally going to act upon it.
After Khan had finished unloading the produce, Mycroft turned to him. “Tell Guillaume I’ll have his check by Wednesday. It’ll be after that larger order of squash comes in. Keep an eye out for that.” He paused, licking his lips. “We’re having an event here that night. I’m actually invited to it—I won’t be working in the back. Amusing how I’m invited to my own restaurant, isn’t it?”
A light chuckle from both.
“Quite right, Mycroft. What is the event for, might I ask?”
“A politician friend of mine is doing his rounds. He thought the place would be ‘just the right amount of hip’, in his words.” Another chuckle. It subsided, leaving them in silence for a few moments. Mycroft spoke again, his words just a bit quicker in delivery. “You’re welcome to come. With me, that is. You don’t have to if you’re busy or… don’t want to. It’s just that I honestly won’t know what to do with myself alone. Everyone in attendance will just be old stuffy politicians—I don’t care for their kind very much.”
Khan agreed. Mycroft wore a stupidly happy smile the rest of the day.
When Mycroft had found Khan the night of the event, he was at the bar. Although for a moment his eyes did not recognize him as Khan. The young man who was always seen in comfortable, casual clothing had now donned a sleek and fitted black suit, with a thin tie down his chest. His hair was managed, slicked back and neat. He was hesitant to go over, toying with the idea of just admiring the man from afar.
“Ah, excuse me. I’m looking for my morning deliveryman. You wouldn’t happen to know where he is, do you?” Mycroft asked with an amused tone, when he had finally decided to walk over.
Khan turned, surprised at the sudden appearance of Mycroft. The pink tint of blush already had flushed his cheeks, both because of his current drink and light embarrassment. “I have no idea where he might be. Must be at home with his poor attire.”
“Ah. Hopefully I do see him soon. He is supposed to be my date for the evening.”
The comment was received with a chuckle. The evening did turn out to be more like a date than either of them actually anticipated. The politician friend of Mycroft’s hadn’t paid much mind to the chef at all. (Not that Mycroft was complaining, of course.) They chatted the night away about every. Mycroft learned why Khan had come to London of all places, and Khan learned about Mycroft’s early days in the culinary field.
By the end of the night, they had moved into the back room. Not for any particular reason other than to get away from the crowd. Old stuffy government folk tended to generate an enormous amount of noise. Their own conversation had slowed, although it wasn’t awkward. While it wasn’t said with many words, the two immensely enjoyed each other’s company this night.
“This was an incredibly pleasant evening,” Khan began. “Thank you for inviting me with you.”
“No, no, I must thank you. You’ve saved me from a very boring evening. My mind would have melted had it not been for you being here.”
And then, after an unrealized amount of time, they found themselves in a kiss. It was deep. Happy. Satisfying. They felt a spark between them that lead to a firework of butterflies. They broke away from the kiss, but not each other. The two men were left in a happy haze of wide smiles and pleasure.
“Do you think we can have another tomorrow morning?”
“I was thinking of that. Perhaps I’ll put in a side order of more kisses. Especially from you.”
Khan would turn heaven and earth to protect and safe-guard that place of honor he has at Mycroft's side.
@72-reasons.
My heart isn’t crying, yours is.
