**I’ve debated long and hard, my friends. I’ve reflected on the experiences I’ve had here for so many years here, and though I still have a great deal of love for this character and this community, coming back to this blog and trying to start up again and build up the momentum which I feel I’ve lost, and especially with so much history has proven to be too much for me.

I am, however, not giving up on him completely. I still adore this community and all of you who showed me so much kindness and grace during this long dry spell. If you are still interested in writing with me, you can find where I will be writing Khan here on this side-blog: @72reascns. While it says private and selective, that largely means that I will only be making time to RP Khan on a case-by-case basis. If we have history, you are more than welcome to seek me out and I will be happy to write with you. But because I now have other muses running and so much going on in my life, I don’t have the time or energy to keep Khan as my main blog any more.

That being said, this blog will not be deleted. It will remain up because of the amount of history and fond memories held here, and because even though my activity has been null and void lately, I have been spending a lot of time re-reading all the good experiences I had here. So for now, and until I see you next (or even if I don’t), thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here. You made this three year experience a good one, and fed into it lasting so long. If you want to continue it, please seek me out and I would be happy to write with you. If not, live long and prosper dear friends.

**I don’t know if it matters to anyone, but I’m here. This semester was a bender and a half, and I needed a break from Khan for a while because I was feeling worn down and like I didn’t matter in the community anymore. I got one, and while I can’t say I feel any more confident about what I’m worth, I’ve found myself missing this old man. More specifically, the likes of @mycroftthegreat @yourdeerestnilion and @smartass-telepath have had me missing being here.

Thus, here I am. I have no idea what it’ll add up to, but here we are.

**I am fucking exhausted, but I made some bomb pasta after work and now I’m settling in for a night off for once.

**Very unironically, my Romanian roomie is my favorite person on the planet. Hanging out with her just makes me feel better and healthier as a person. On that note, I’ve got a few essays left to comment on, but I’m going to try to balance Khan and The New(ish) Thing better tonight and get some activity going around here.

**If you’re wondering what I’m doing today, these applications are it. You know, on top of a mountain of grading that I’m egregiously behind on. This is also sort of a brief PSA as to why I’ve been having a hugely difficult time juggling the blogs lately. I’ve got these, my students’ work to keep up on, my own term paper to write, and my own thesis to work on. So yeah. Many apologies. But I’m buried, and will be until about mid-December.

**Justifiably! But no, I did not drink it all by my lonesome. Much as it was rough today, it was nowhere near that rough. Plus, I had to teach... and I generally value the health of my liver.

**In case any of you were curious about how today went - here’s photographic evidence of an answer. First and foremost, yes that is my desk at the institution I work at. Secondly, that bottle of Jim Beam was full when I brought it in this morning. Thus, its state at the end of the day speaks volumes not only about my own condition, but that of the rest of the TA office as well.

I know it’s hard right now, but I wanted to make a quick post, since it applies to me as well, it’s 4pm and I’m making myself my first meal because I’ve been feeling sick to my stomach today, so I figured I’d turn my own frustration and devastation into this post.

But please, no matter how devastated, try to take care of yourself!

make sure you eat, even if it’s something little

take bit to yourself, read a book

get off social media for a while

Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something. Frodo : What are we holding on to, Sam? Sam : That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.
