Thought the WoL vs Azem meme looked fun so I thought I would try it out! It was interesting to think about how different situations would have caused certain differences:

Oneiros came from a long lineage of concept creation, and had been in training for decades in those creative/scientific fields of study (befriending Hythlodaeus along the way) before he met Venat and immediately decided to follow in her footsteps instead.

Though Khili'ra has natural intellegence as well as a prodigious understanding of thaumaturgy, there was little opportunity for him to study while growing up in the more isolated reaches of the Black Shroud. Even when he had left for Ul'Dah, it wasn't long before he was recruited into the Scions and has basically served as the muscle ever since.

Either one could have turned out like the other, but since the approaches they took rewarded by the people around them - with titles, friends, opportunities, their actions helping people in need - they were so moulded by the world they lived in.

How many pieces of yourself can you shear away in the name of being loved? Faithless and clinging, pathetic and proud -- what is the point? Do they want you yet? Will they ever? How long will you keep up this shallow play at charismatic matyrdom? Until you die? Or until they realise you're only paper thin and discard you? Isn't it too cruel to think of them this way? In the end you're still that youngest child in your heart, achingly certain the world revolves around you.
