Reserves Management Center established in Azerbaijan
In order to ensure the development and targeted use of reserves, as well as to increase their tourism potential, a "Reserve Management Center" has been established under the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency. In connection with the approval of the Charter of the Center, the powers for the management of state reserves under the jurisdiction of the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency were transferred to it. Accordingly, the relevant provisions have been included in the statutes of the Khinalig State Historical, Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve, Keshikchidag State Historical and Cultural Reserve, Ateshgah Temple State Historical and Architectural Reserve and Yanar Dag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve. Khinalig may be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List
The State Historical-Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve “Khinalig” in Azerbaijan is included in the preliminary list of candidates for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This was reported in the State Tourism Agency. The document submitted to the organization through the National Commission of UNESCO for Azerbaijan and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO reflects the assessment of the Khinalig Nature Reserve according to the criteria, as well as the rationale for including the reserve on the World Heritage List.
