completely unnecessary horror mash-ups (23/?) - anastasia x kholat
i’ve been there before.
anastasia was drawn to the mountain.
she couldn’t explain why.
every night, from her orphanage window, she could see the range beneath the stars.
and every night to them, she prayed.
she would hum: dancing bears, painted wings…
mini mix: presley roy, once upon a december + of monsters & men, mountain sound + kostromin, my head is spinning like a screw
The cold is an illness, slowly eating away at the body and the mind. Day one: the feeling is numbness, a slight chill, an ache in the skin. Day two: the ache sinks into the muscles, drawing them taunt, restricting movement. Day three: the fingers and toes begin to burn, scorched from something hotter than the purest flame. Day four: the ache settles into the bones, igniting animalistic instincts. Rage boils beneath the surface, bubbling, waiting to crack, waiting to seethe over the edge from the slightest instigation.
listening to podcasts about the Dyatlov Pass Incident, thinking about Kholat, musing about the soundtrack, and hibernating in 18 degree weather is putting me in a mood for mystery.
The Dyatlov Pass Incident is one of the most interesting historical events I’ve read up on.
