This is the first time we actually see TYL!Hibari Kyoya. And this one panel brings with it a whole entire slew of my headcanons!!!

Because Kyoya said 'It's been a long time Namimori' which immediately makes me think that he left Namimori quite a while ago. Perhaps several years. Which brings me a whole slew of questions to be answered!

Why did TYL!Hibari say this?

When did he leave?

Did he leave willingly or did he feel forced to go?

Was he just on a mission, or does Foundation require that he permanently be away from Namimori to do his resesarch himself?

Where was he? Was he in Italy? If so, does that mean he happened to witness the fall of Vongola's Italian branch?

Why did he come back? Obviously to protect the teenage Vongola, but did he have a personal reason? An ulterior motive?

Was this the excuse he needed to get back to Namimori, or... Would he rather avoid tending to Namimori in person?

OR!! Is all this moot and he's just being dramatic? Like he was gone for a week on some random retrieval/beat em up mission and he's bitter about it?

Do consider just a few panels before or after this TYL!Yamamoto claimed this when talking about Kyoya: 'I was just on a mission myself, so I have no idea where that guy is.' All of which, to me, indicates that Kyoya moves about frequently. Within or outside of Namimori's borders.

This time with soft confirmation of one of my all time favourite Hibari headcanons! ☁️💜☁️

First things first! Let's appreciate Kyoya casually Schooling Gamma on the weaknesses in his attack lmao

Not to mention!! I really really like the way the impact is draw. Kyoya is so so pretty here. But also is that blood spatter? How hard did that ball hit?! Gamma did say one hit is enough to kill a man so... Am high key concerned about the amount of injuries Kyoya just ignores mid fights. There shall be more examples of this!

Now!!! To my all time favourite Hibari headcanon! :D

First I wanna point out what Gamma said here!

Specifically the fact that Kyoya focuses his defensive flame on his left arm when he goes to block something. Now, I don't think TYL!Kyoya was taking the time to think here. He was fighting, relying mainly on year-old, deeply ingrained instincts I'd say.

Which brings me to the idea that!! I think, as a child, Hibari probably sustained some kind of injury on his left side/left arm which forced him to become ambidextrous (which is Canon trivia I think?) and made it so he doesn't have perfect mobility on his left side. He sustains most of his major injuries left actually.

Again!!! Proof!!!!

Hibari vs Mukuro - his biggest injury is on his left shoulder

Hibari vs Xanxus and Mosca - is shot through the left hip/did not manage to dodge in time

And TYL!Kyoya just so happens to instinctively concentrate defensive flames on his left when he goes to block an attack... I don't know if any of this was intended by Amano-Sensei, but I have absolutely convinced myself that Hibari Kyoya has fine motor-levels of mobility impairment and/or chronic pains.

Because. Why not? lemme cram more believable representation in this Boi. :3c

Also! Just to mention/point out. TYL!Kyoya wears his rings right because he needs fine motor skills to insert rings into boxes, but Teen!Kyoya seems to wear his bracelet left. Because I think as a reckless, angry teen, Kyoya would steamroll his own health and capabilities and try to overcompensate in any way that doesn't directly call attention to a perceived weakness.

I don't know who first came up with it, cause the first time I heard of it was when I was lurking on Tumblr years before I made my account. And I was on mobile so there were a very limited amount of posts on the Boi. :(

Two Panels back to back this time because they are having a conversation here that I wanna keep cohesive!

Because I think this really really shows how TYL!Kyoya usually interacts with typical Mafiosi.

First! A reminder: right here Gamma has no idea Kyoya is in any way an ally. Nor that him and Kyoya would ever be allies. They are just making conversation for the heck of it, yet, to me, Kyoya immediately comes across as kind of defensive or irate?

Maybe it's because Hayato and Takeshi have been beaten, but the way he refuses to give any amount of info on himself is odd. Cause he was perfectly fine with revealing that the teens came from the past? But he's just flat refusing to engage with Gamma any further.

Maybe he's just eager to battle, but what if this is just how he interacts with Mafiosi? What if the Mafia hasn't been treating him with any of the respect he's rightfully earned?

I like to think the Mafia blatantly disrespect him on the regular, so Kyoya just doesn't put any effort into being polite or making pre-fight conversation these days. Like I think the way Gamma acts is almost disrespectful in a warped way? He's chitchatting at Kyoya like they aren't about to fight! He is not seeing Kyoya as a serious threat here, this nit giving Kyoya the respect he's owed.

Or!! Another idea/option on why Kyoya is acting this way!! Maybe this is just how he checks what kind of info the Mafia is circulating about him? Cause with minimal effort, he somehow made Gamma reveal some crucial info here.

Like the fact that Millefiore has an intelligence unit watching him somehow. And that Millefiore, or it's Blackspell division at least, isn't entirely sure about his allyship to Vongola.

Those are things Kyoya could absolutely use to his advantage. And he barely had to work to get that out of Gamma. I think this just shows that Kyoya is an expert in acquiring info at this point. But also these headcanons can be merged. Kyoya can be defensive and still be gathering info.

What I wanna point out here!! The ✨absolutely magnificent✨ self-roast. TYL!Hibari really just called his past self stupid. Like, at this point, he 100% already knows that he'll get send back eventually. There was no reason to say that. Any of that!

To me it really feels like he decided to view his past self as a little brother in this specific moment. It's the silent silent, implied. 'I know eventually he's gonna take a nap and he will be hit by the bazooka like some kind of stupid.' But I choose to interpret this line like it's largely affectionate towards Past!Hibari.

Cause I think TYL!Hibari knows exactly what kind of struggles his teenage self would and will be dealing with. And, while TYL is understanding and patient about it, that doesn't mean he won't roast the kid xD

Also!! Kyoya refuses to tell Gamma his name here. Seems irrelevant, but it's a point I'll circle back to in the next post!

More future arc! This time + Hibari Kyoya headcanons!

He is going on the attack! 💞 Very cool. And this is also the first time we see him shattering rings with his pure power!

Which brings me to my headcanons! Cause I think Kyoya can't be unaffected with how dense/how pure/how strong his cloud flames are.

Like TYL!Kyoya is more mellow and rational, but I'm not surprised that as a flame active teen with flames like THAT Kyoya was an unstable little menace. Boy was probably drowning in his flames and unable to control much of anything regarding that :(

Which also brings me back to my earlier headcanon that sometime between being a teen and being his TYL version, Kyoya must've made the choice to leaave Namimori, at least temporarily, just to prove to himself that he could. Just to prove his cloud flame isn't what drives his love for Namimori, yanno?

*dreamy sigh* There is so much potential angst in Kyoya genuinely struggling with his flames...

TYL!Kyoya here is just blatantly lying. He obviously stepped up the moment Hayato and Takeshi got knocked out, just to spare their feelings and let them learn/grow. Cause you can't convince me that teen Hayato wouldn't have thrown an absolute tantrum at having been saved by TYL!Kyoya. He was hella salty with TYL!Takeshi as well.

But also! In the fight of Takeshi&Hayato vs Gamma, Hayato and Takeshi managed a lot of growth in their friendship. Takeshi established some boundaries and Hayato just outright confirmed that he cares for Takeshi.

Lemme get proof of that!

To me it makes sense for TYL!Kyoya to stand aside the moment he sees them improving their teamwork. Afterall!! TYL!Tsuna hired TYL!Kyoya to train the teenagers. (proof of that will come in a few days)
