I think there’s some romance to the fact that the first character who helps you embrace shadow magic, Sofia DarkSide, is a life magic user. Due to Malistaire’s actions and due to the inherent stigma regarding the connotations, Death magic has been seen as the “evil”, “dark”, and “shadowy” practice, shunned from even Ravenwood itself. But then, as your wizard is embracing the world of the negative, of the cast aside, of the forsaken, it’s someone who works in death’s mirror who brings you out of the light.

love this part. We know these worlds exist, but under morganthe's regime and rule generations of mantis, mice and rats alike have little to no exposure to the outerworld. It feels like to them, it was just them who were affected when in reality Morganthe's pillaging and seeding of darkness goes so so much deeper.

We actively had to JACK our way into Khrysalis. How isolated are these people from what else Morganthe has done outside of what her propoganda proclaims? That's probably why it was so easy for her to get so many willing people

She isolated people from outside influences, Compare that to the other worlds we encountered her, worlds that have outside knowledge and exposure to light? more people fighting back against her

I like Dyvim's reaction specifically, this part gives him perspective on the fact that other worlds have had to experience what his people have and the loss of their kings and queens may be a feeling other worlds have gone through
