Need to revise but couldn't concentrate, so... yeah. WARNING: This post will contain angst, possibly some cursing, and ephemer x player x skuld because I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT I FELL DOWN THAT RABBIT HOLE AND I'M NOT COMING OUT. ... Not gonna lie, it's mostly angst. - ● When the player is in a battle (aka normal quest) they kinda... dissociate? From most the people around them? So to them, it's like no-one else is there (excluding the quests where we actually see other keykids). ● I have a headcanon about the player's speech that takes two routes: - NORMAL: The player is just naturally quiet to the point where they basically don't talk. That's it. - ANGSTY: The player actively has trouble speaking and it normally causes them distress to do so. Fortunately most of those in The Age of Fairy Tales' worlds seem to be able to understand sign language. ● Look me in the eye and tell me the keykids wouldn't spoil their spirits rotten. Look me in the goddamn eye. ● ALSO ALSO ALSO party members having playdates with their spirits.( Idk I just think it would be cute.) Angsty ephemerayeruld stuff because I'm trash: ● We know that the dandelion leaders erased all the dandelions (+ the players) memories of the war to spare them from the pain, right? ● As of such, the player is not going to remember seeing Skuld and Ephemera again. ● So the player feels... abandoned. ● At first it's just feelings of missing them. Wishing they could see them again. ● But then it grows. And it grows a little... darker. ● The player becomes obsessed with trying to find them. What happened to their friends? They become reckless trying to find any clues to their whereabouts. ● But of course, obsession, leads to darkness. ● The player doesn't know that Ephemera and Skuld are safe. ● The player doesn't know that seeing them again could trigger traumatic memories of the war, and that this is the reason that their friends have to stay away. ● The player don't know how much it kills them to stay away, and have to watch them fall into darkness. ● It's Chirithy that suggests the solution. ● Chirithy knows how determined their kid is. They know that they'll never stop looking for their friends whilst they may be alive. But Chirithy also knows it would push the player into darkness if they think that Ephemera and Skuld are dead. ● So Chirithy suggests that the kids remove themselves from the players memories. ● Remove the object of obsession, remove the route to darkness. ● It takes a lot of convincing, lots of flipping tables and desperate tears. ● But they agree. When the player is asleep, they say goodbye, and erase any memories of the three of them. ● The player seems like a different person when they wake up. They seem brighter, like how they were when they first met the two dandelion leaders. ● They start going on adventures again. They start having fun. They have no idea of what has transpired. To them, everything is normal. ● And Ephemera and Skuld watch them from afar, in silent anguish, knowing that their paths can not cross.
