Today’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebrations and parade was a good one. Riancito and I met two women who actually marched with Dr. King. We saw the Asian American Lions Club, LD 17,26&25 Dems (how come republican Ld’s are never represented at the Mesa MLK parade?) Mesa Sister Cities was well represented and we even got to ride with some of my favorite people Dr. Matthew Whittaker, Mr. Roy Tatem, Kiana Sears who is running for Az Corp Commission and Tomas Stanton! Riancito was screaming for fries so we went to Queens Pizzeria where he got fries and I got wings and pizza! Yum. I am very proud of my sister and campaign mate Kiana Sears! She has been sworn in as the first black woman to serve on the Mesa Unified School District board for Mesa Public Schools Today history (read HERstory) was made. Kiana Sears has just been sworn in as a Mesa Public School Board Governing member. I learned a lot from Kiana Sears on the campaign trail.
