Prom: Under The Sea🌊~

Bridgeport Academy’s prom is the best time of year for some of these teenagers. The theme, the food, the music - everything is perfect. It was definitely a time to remember for the seniors that attended.
Midway through the prom, the principal, Mrs. Niles stopped the music so she could talk. “Hey kids. Is everyone having a good time?” She asked the students. Everyone yelled and clapped in response “I’m happy to hear that. Now it’s time to announce prom king and prom queen. Our prom king is….Garrett Paulsen! Come up here and give us a speech.”
Garrett smiled and walked up to where Mrs. Niles was. “Thank you to everyone that voted for me. It’s in honor to be this year's prom king and I appreciate it.”
Everyone clapped and listened to Mrs. Niles again. “Now it’s time for our prom queen. Our prom queen is….Riana Gibson! Come on up here!”
Riana stood there in shock trying to process what just happened. She walked up to where Mrs. Niles & Garrett were. “Um..thank you to everyone that voted for me. I actually didn’t think I would win but I’m very grateful that I did. Thank you again”
“Give them a round of applause everyone!” Everyone started clapping and cheering. “Now can I prom king and prom queen get on the floor for their dance.”

The snow was falling on Snowflake Day. It didn’t seem to bother anyone in Bridgeport though. It definitely didn’t bother Rylee. He loves when it snows on Snowflake day. To him, it makes the holiday feel even more special.
After spending time with his family, he wanted to hang out with his girlfriend Kiara and give her the Snowflake Day gift that he bought for her. They haven’t seen each other sense school went out for winter break. Of course they texted but it was rarely. He assume seeing each other in person would make everything better.
They decided to meet downtown and just walk around. Rylee sat on a bench and waited for her. He looked at his phone to see the time. “I wonder where she is.” He sent her a text asking if she was on her way. No response. “I hope everything is okay.”
30 minutes passed and Rylee kept texting her but still wasn’t getting any response. He was worried but had no idea what to do. Suddenly, he seen her walking towards him. He got up from the bench to greet her. “Babe, what’s going on? I’ve been texting you but not getting a response.”
“We need to talk.” Kiara sighed. “I have to leave this relationship.”
Rylee stood there in shock. “What? What’s going on Kiara?”
“We’re not happy Rylee. All we do is fight now. We’re pretending that we get along. This relationship just isn’t for us. Rylee, I’m sorry but this is over. You can keep the gift. Bye Rylee, enjoy your winter break.” Kiara walked away from Rylee leaving him standing there in shock trying to figured out what just happened.

The snow was falling down hard in Bridgeport. It seem like the snow waited until the championship basketball game was over and for winter break to start for the snow to come down heavy. Rylee’s basketball team was state champs now and he won MVP but he wasn’t that excited about it. He was excited about it at first but then after the game he realized that his girlfriend Kiara didn’t show up. It bother him because he knew that she knew that this was a huge deal for him. Everyone that he cared about showed up except for her. He was pacing back and forth pondering on if he should call her. Finally, after much thought, he picked up his phone and call her.
Kiara answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Hey, how are you?” Rylee asked.
“I’m okay.”
“You must of forgot what tonight was.”
“Something happened tonight?” Kiara asked with confusion in her voice.
“My championship basketball game was tonight.”
“Oh really?”
Rylee was surprised at what he was hearing. “Oh really? That’s all you have to say?”
“I mean what am I supposed to say?”
“Did you win? How was it? Maybe talk about why you didn’t show up?”
“Let’s not start.”
“You’re the one who always starting with me over the little things. The one thing that is super important to me, you don’t even bother to show up. If it was the other way around you’ll be cursing me out right now.”
“Look, I’m sorry. I got a lot going on right now.”
He sighed. “Then talk to me about it.”
“It’s cool babe. I shouldn’t bring you down after your big night. I’ll talk to you later okay. Good night.”
“Night.” They both hung up the phone and Rylee flopped down in his bed. “What happened to us?” He said to himself. “We barely talk anymore. Is this what being in relationship like? It seems like our relationship is the only relationship like this.”

Rylee took Kiara outside beside Bridgeport Academy’s main building. He didn’t want everyone to be in their business and hear the conversation. He wanted to have a conversation in private with Kiara. Kiara stood against the wall. “What do you want to talk about? You want to talk about how you don’t listen to me when I’m talking.” Rylee sighed. He knew he had to calm down before talking to Kiara. Yelling at Kiara will just make things worse. “You’re wrong. I listen to everything you say.” “Oh yeah? What was I talking about last night huh?” “You were talking about how your mom and dad have been fighting over you. Your mom wants custody of you but you don’t want to go because she lives in Sunset Valley. You had ask me if you lived with your mom would we still be together and before you gave me chance to respond you accuse me of not listening to you because I was playing my video game. Did I leave anything out?” Kiara sighed and shook her head. “No.” “Kiara, I like you a lot. Why would I mess this relationship up? I try my hardest to make you happy. I bend over backwards for you and you just keep getting angry at me all the time.” “I’m so sorry Rylee.” “It’s cool, just talk to me, that’s all I want. I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier.” “No, I deserve it.” Rylee smiled. “Can I kiss you?” Kiara smiled back. “Yes.” Rylee lean in and kiss Kiara. Every time they kiss, it seems like all their problems are gone and it’s just them too. That was one of the things that Rylee like about this relationship. That was one of the reasons why he stayed in this relationship instead of leaving but sometimes he thinks to himself, is it worth it?

“And that’s all you guys need to know about the skeleton for now. I’ll probably test you guys Friday so make sure you look over your notes.” Mr. Barkley said to his students. “Also guys, everyone needs to participate in the science fair. Yes, it’s a part of your grade. Even though the science fair is kind of far away, I don’t want it to sneak up on you. I’ll give you the rest of the period to find a partner and go over ideas.” “Hey Riana, wanna pair up with me?” Garret asked. Riana smiled. “Sure. We can use our time in art class to do it.” Sage slightly looked back Riana. He was going to ask Riana but he was too late. He looked at his book. When Megan nudge him. “Sage! Let’s pair up!” He stuttered. “Shall we, then?” Megan smiled. “Yes! What topic should we choose for the science fair.” Garret was still talking to Riana about the project. “I’ll look on my phone for ideas.” While Garret looked at his phone, Riana looked at Sage and Megan. She let out a sigh. She thought to herself. “Why am I feeling all sad now?”
