Bridgeport Academy’s prom is the best time of year for some of these teenagers. The theme, the food, the music - everything is perfect. It was definitely a time to remember for the seniors that attended.
Midway through the prom, the principal, Mrs. Niles stopped the music so she could talk. “Hey kids. Is everyone having a good time?” She asked the students. Everyone yelled and clapped in response “I’m happy to hear that. Now it’s time to announce prom king and prom queen. Our prom king is….Garrett Paulsen! Come up here and give us a speech.”
Garrett smiled and walked up to where Mrs. Niles was. “Thank you to everyone that voted for me. It’s in honor to be this year's prom king and I appreciate it.”
Everyone clapped and listened to Mrs. Niles again. “Now it’s time for our prom queen. Our prom queen is….Riana Gibson! Come on up here!”
Riana stood there in shock trying to process what just happened. She walked up to where Mrs. Niles & Garrett were. “Um..thank you to everyone that voted for me. I actually didn’t think I would win but I’m very grateful that I did. Thank you again”
“Give them a round of applause everyone!” Everyone started clapping and cheering. “Now can I prom king and prom queen get on the floor for their dance.”

Marie spent her entire day at school avoiding Ariella. She hid in the library, nurse’s office and even in the bathroom. She thought she got away with it until she walked out the front doors of the school and saw Ariella standing there waiting on her. Marie stood there in shock because she didn’t think Ariella would still be at school.
“What are you still doing here? Don’t you have to go to work?” Marie asked Ariella.
“I told my boss that I was going to be late. What’s going on? I haven’t seen you at all today. Are you okay.”
“I’m fine” Marie lied. “I just didn’t want to get in the way with you and your boyfriend.”
“You wouldn’t get in the way. You’re still my best friend.”
Marie shook her head. “But I don’t want to be your friend.”
Ariella was stunned by the comment. “Why not? Is it something that I did? Is it because I’m dating Rylee? Why don’t you like him?”
“It’s has nothing to do with him!” Marie can feel the tears.
“Then what’s going on?”
“I’m in love with you!” Marie blurted out leaving Ariella speechless. “I’ve been in love with you for years now and seeing you with someone else is so heartbreaking.”
Ariella tried to compose herself. “Marie, I love you but just-“
Marie cut her off. “As a friend. I know and I just can’t be your friend like this. I hope Rylee brings you much happiness. You deserve it.”
Marie started to walk away from Ariella with tears running down her face. “Wait!” Ariella shouted but Marie kept walking. Even though it hurts to walk away, she felt like it was the best decision.

The snow is all gone which means that winter break is over. It went fast for a lot of the kids at Bridgeport Academy. Most of the kids were not excited to come back to school except for Rylee. Rylee was elated to go to school just to see his girlfriend Ariella. He still can’t believe that she is finally his girlfriend. Sometimes he has to punch himself to make sure he’s not dreaming.
All of Rylee’s friends knew that Ariella was his girlfriend and Ariella told everyone that she was dating Rylee. The only person she didn’t tell was her best friend Marie since she was out of town during winter break. Ariella thought instead of telling her over a text, it would be better to tell her in person.
Rylee and Ariella walk into the school holding hands. It wasn’t long before they saw Marie at her locker. “Hey, Marie!” Ariella called out to Marie.
Marie turned around with a smile on her face. The smile immediately went away when she saw them holding hands. She tried to be calm. “What’s going on here?”
Ariella smiled. “I wanted to tell you that Rylee and I are dating!”
Marie's mouth almost hit the floor. “You guys are dating?!”
They both nodded. “He asked me out the day before Snowflake. Aren’t you happy for us?”
Marie had a disgusting look on her face. “Honestly, no I’m not.”
They both look at each other surprised. “Why not?” Ariella asked.
“Because you deserve better!”
“What do you mean?” Rylee asked, trying to figure out where this negativity is coming from.
“Nothing. I need to go to class.” Marie lied as she walked away from Rylee and Ariella leaving them confused.

Rylee and Ariella walked to the food area where the rest of the group was at. Kai, Myles and Natalie noticed Rylee first. They walked up to him.
“We heard you got on the ferris wheel from Marie. Lucky. I wanted to go on the ferris wheel.” Natalie sulk.
Kai asked Rylee. “How’d it go?”
“Smooth move, getting her on the ferris wheel.” Myles winked at Rylee
Rylee just smiled wide. “It was just a normal ride.”
Kai scoffed. “You’re such a bad liar.”
Marie noticed Ariella she ran over and gave her a huge hug. “ARI!” She yelled. After hugging Ariella, Marie started inspecting her. “He didn’t do anything weird to you, did he?”
Ariella shook her head. “No, we just rode together. But we did talk about relationships and having crushes.”
“Huh?!” Marie said, shocked by the answer.
“It was a bit embarrassing, but I really enjoyed it.” Ariella smiled. Marie fake smiled back to her. She could tell that something was really going on between those two and she didn’t like it.
Just then, Tatum and Yasmin walked up to the rest group. “Welp, the concert is over, are you guys ready to go?” Tatum asked everyone. Everyone nodded in response.
“We should get going now before the traffic gets really bad and we have to wait in a long line. Plus I’m pretty sure we can have more fun at the hotel.” Yasmin smiled. The group followed Yasmin and Tatum out of the amusement park and back to the hotel.

Myles and Marie were on their way back to the hotel room when they met up with Rylee and Ariella. All of them walked back to the room.
“I’m really glad we found you.” Ariella said as she put her arm around Marie.
“Sorry to worry you, Ari!” Marie replied.
“Thank you boys for your help, too.” Ariella smiled.
Rylee smiled back. “It’s fine.”
“You know, ’m pretty awesome, come to think of it.” Myles jokes. “Even with her hunched over and hiding her face, I still could tell it was Marie. Isn’t it amazing?”
Marie rolled her eyes. “Not really. That’s normal.”
“What happened to “being more honest”?” Myles asked.
Marie shook her head. “That’s all over!”
“Huh?!”
Rylee jumped in to defuse the conversation. “Hold on. It’s nighttime. Could you two keep it down?”
Marie looked at him which made Rylee quiver. “I guess I should say…I do kind of think of you guys as my friends, too. Thanks for looking for me.”
Rylee was shocked by the statement. “Huh? Uh, sure. Don’t worry about it.”
Tatum and Yasmin saw the four friends walking towards the door. Yasmin smiled. “I’m so happy you’re okay!”
“I’m sorry for making you all worry about me.” Marie said with her head down. She didn't really realize that everyone was concerned about her.
“No problem. Let’s finish up our game.” Tatum said, opening the door.
They all walked into the room to see Natalie giving Kai a massage. Kai smiled. “Welcome back. I’m glad to see you found Marie.”
Natalie kept on giving Kai a massage. “Kai, does that feel good?”
“It does. Thanks.” Both Kai and Natalie didn’t realize that Myles was in the room giving them a death stare.
“KAI!!” Myles.
“Huh? What?” Kai replied.
Natalie got off of Kai. “Myles, how long have you been there?!”
