KICKSTARTER SCAM!!

I wasn't one of the people who got scammed, but seeing people beg for their money back is so sad, and if Andreea Greceanu @andrywhodraws won't move unless they are shamed, so be it.

Last year, on the 12th of Jan, the Kickstarter was set up.

Andreea took the backers money and didn't give any kind of update on how the production was going.

Later on December 11, Andreea admitted they needed to begin refunding because the project wasn’t happening. She only refunded 2 people out of 249. both around the same day she released a statement.

And then she continued ignoring the rest of the backers.

Not issuing any refunds or even updating them on how the refund process was going.

She is sitting on 40 THOUSAND DOLLARS and spending 30+ hours a week gaming on Steam while ignoring people who are begging them for refunds.

They can't even be bothered to respond to a single comment and give these people some kind of update.

This is not my usual shit, but these people deserve better.

And even if we can’t get her to respond, at least there will be a record of what she’s done attached to her name.

Yeah... This is one hell of a rabbit hole. Bottom line is that the guy who's working on Somber Heaven has a history of scamming. Hell, I was in a Discord server for what was supposed to be a fan game when he was supposed to be working on a fan remake of Kingdom Hearts Union X and now he's made the server read only outside of threads. To put it simply, the scammer pissed off a good chunk of Kingdom Hearts fans and stole assets, both from Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. The entire Discord server for what should have been Kingdom Hearts Re:Union X is on to him and calling him out.

Ain't that poetic. Do not support the Kickstarter for Somber Heaven and use your money to support worthwhile stuff. I swear this is worse than the Mighty No. 9 fiasco.

I think the people behind Dashcon and the asshole who came up with brony island should team up and make the ultimate shitty convention. sure you were cheated out of 17,000 dollars but you get the pet the Pinkie Pie doll for an extra hour!

Kickstarter: Ideal Crowdfunding Platform or Easy Money for Scammers?

Ever since Double Fine Productions' astounding success with Broken Age (formerly known as Double Fine Adventure) a year ago, Kickstarter has become somewhat of a posterchild for crowdfuning on the Internet. And while the idea of an 'Online Darwinism' platform where only the strongest and most innovative ideas get to see the light of day via a direct financial support from the consumers does sound enticing on paper, the actual execution of it leaves much to be desired.

We've all heard countless success stories from aspiring filmmakers, game developers and musicians who got to make their dream projects a reality. But what about the myriad of terrible projects that still make at least three times their desired goal thanks to the naïveté of the Kickstarter userbase? What about all the outrageous scams that were seconds away from pilfering the dishonestly received money and vanishing into thin air? And let's not forget about all the cases of unceremonious e-begging by Hollywood celebrities who should already have sufficient funds and/or connections to launch their projects without the need of Kickstarter but still decided to exploit it.

Kickstarter represents a worthy cause, and we here at Cheshire Cat Studios are totally behind it. That said, they really need to start screening whom they grant permission to open up a campaign on their site lest they want to end up in danger of losing their credibility.
