Day 18 - Snowball fight? - It’s war
Characters: Charlie Bradbury, Dean Winchester, Castiel, Benny Lafitte Words: 1285 Author’s note: So I had a big writer’s block since the 18th and I’ve tried to finish every day I missed now. I’m honestly not that happy with everything but I tried my best. Anyway I just wanted to wish everyone reading this a merry Christmas.
It had been snowing a lot for most of the night and the snow formed a thick perfect blanket. One so perfectly white you were considering to not even step on it because it looked so beautiful. Dean stared outside the window and sighed deeply. He didn't want to go to school with snow like that. What they could do with the snow instead of just sitting in school all day long. Like building another snowman… Making more snow angels or… just something like that… Instead, Dean was sitting in school, just looking out of the window as the snow fell down on the earth.
“Dean Winchester?!” “Hm?” Dean looked up in confusion. Mr. Ketch their teacher looked at him annoyed. “How about you try and solve that problem,” she said and handed him a piece of chalk. Dean stared at the problem on the blackboard. He had no idea what the teacher had asked. He read the problem over. Cas smiled at him encouragingly.
Dean went towards the blackboard shaking a little. He hated being called to the front. He always felt stupid when he was. And he always was aware of the other kids whispering and giggling behind his back. He sighed and looked at the numbers in the front. He started to feel the teacher look at him as he worked on the problem. He and Cas had done this before hadn't they? Dean bit his lip. He could do this. He started to write the small numbers onto the blackboard the chalk shaking in his hand. When he was done he turned around and went to sit down next to Cas again. Mr. Ketch eyed the blackboard.
“Dean. Can you explain what you did there too? I can't really make out what you wrote there…” he smiled. Dean hated that smile. It reminded him of a shark. “I… uh…” “Sir, I think it's not necessary,” Cas said without even putting his hand up. “Dean already did all the work. I can make his writing out just fine. If you want I could read it for you,” he offered and smiled at him. He raised an eyebrow. Then he went to the front and turned both Dean's and Cas’ card from green to red. “That's not fair!” Charlie said. “They didn't do anything!” The teacher looked at her and went to turn her card too. Charlie jumped up and Dean pulled her down again. “Not worth it…” “He's such a…” “I know… but it's not worth it Charlie…”
“Dean! Stop talking now!” “Sorry, Sir…”
All three children were angry on their way home. "It's so unfair!" Charlie said and stomped the snow. Dean nodded and kicked the snow away. "Such an assho... unfair... person..." Castiel glanced at Dean glad he hadn't said the word he was about to say. Not that he didn't think the same about their teacher but Dean would get in trouble if he said those words. "She wasn't very nice and she was... pretty unfair," he said and looked at his friends. "C'mon Cas. Nobody's listening. You can say how angry you are," Dean said and looked at him. "I am angry," Cas said picking up a little bit of snow "He... he wasn't... he was... he was an assbutt! A really unfair, stupid assbutt! And I hate when grown-ups do that! When they... when they think they can do whatever they want to children 'cause... 'cause they're grown-ups..." He threw the snowball and looked around like he was shocked himself of his outburst. Dean put his hand on Cas' shoulder and smiled a little. "Let's just get home. We can do something there..." "Yeah..."
It turned out that they couldn't do something since the older kids were playing outside and didn't allow the younger kids to come out with them and anyone who went and told on them would have a big, big problem. So, they were sitting in the group room sulking when one of those older kids - Benny, he was twelve already! - walked over to them. "Heard you got in trouble at school," Benny said and smiled at them. "Yeah. But it was unfair!" Dean explained. "Yeah, I know, Mr. Ketch is so dumb, had him in the third and fourth grade too," Benny said and nudged Dean a little. "He's an assbutt," Cas said nodding. Benny smirked. " I guess. Hey, you guys wanna come outside and join our snowball war? You seem cool enough and we still need three people on our team." "Do you mean snowball fight?" Charlie asked. "Nope! It's a war," Benny said and grinned. "It's getting pretty rough... if you guys are too small for it..." "We're not!" Dean and Charlie said loudly. Cas bit his lip. "I mean..." Dean looked at him. "Please, Cas?" "Okay.." Cas said. "Yes! Awesome," Dean said and grinned at Benny.
They got outside dressed in their boots and coats. "Okay!" Benny said. "You can be on my team, I'll look out for you," he told them. "Like I said it's brutal. And we'll start soon but I'm sure you guys will hold on for a bit at least," he explained and grinned at them.
The two opposite teams stood in front of each other in the playground. "Leeeeeeeeeeeeet's go!" someone shouted and they all started to grab snow to form snowballs with. Dean threw three balls at once and even hit two guys then he ran fast so he could hide behind a tree glancing at the other children who were still fighting.
Cas was running around trying to throw his snowballs but failing at really hitting anyone. He always missed. Alistair saw that and ran towards him his hands full of snow to rub him in with. He grabbed Cas from behind and started to shove the snow into his face rubbing it all over.
When Dean saw that he ran towards them and started to throw snowballs at Allistair. "Go away! Leave him alone!" he shouted and looked at Alistair angrily. "Naaaawwww... he's coming to save his boyfriend..." he said and laughed a little. Dean threw another snowball right into his face. "Goddammit, you little shit!" Alistair shouted and ran towards Dean throwing him into the snow. Dean felt a punch and then another one and he tried desperately to shove Alistair from his chest.
Suddenly Alistair got pulled from him. "That's against the rules, Alistair!" Benny shouted. "If you don't fight by the rules you can't play anymore!" "Shut up! I don't even wanna play any..."
"What the hell is going on here?" Jody shouted running out. "What are you doing?" "Nothin'... we were just playin'..." Benny said. "But... but Alistair just suddenly attacked Dean!" "He attacked me first!" "He was hurting Cas," Dean chimed in loudly he had set up and Cas and Charlie were next to him. "And Dean's smaller than them!" "I don't want to hear anymore," Jody said and looked at them. "You all know exactly you are not allowed to have a snowball fight without supervision," she sighed and shook her head. "Dean are you alright?" Dean nodded. Cas put his arm around him.
Dean, Cas, and Charlie were sitting in the group room and waiting for Benny to come back. Benny entered the group room with a little smirk on his lips. "Is she not mad anymore?" Dean asked standing up. "Oh, she's livid. We got to do kitchen duty for two weeks." "I'm sorry, Benny," he said and looked at him. "It's fine," he said and ruffled his hair. "Not the first time that happened." Dean looked at him. Benny was so cool. He didn't even care that he was in trouble.
