the star trail has a number of foods that interest ciel--he’s not used to such variety, even with his butler’s habit of forcing more than a typical bland english diet on him. there are things here he’s never even imagined, and as usual he gravitates toward desserts. it’s difficult not to, as he has not only a child’s sweet tooth, but a genuine appreciation for a well-crafted delicacy.
the plum cheesecake he’s holding certainly meets his standards, and the enjoyment on his face when he had his first bite prompted the seller to give him another to give to a friend. ciel doesn’t really have any of those here, so he approaches a boy around his age with the plate of cheesecake and holds it out. ‘ they gave me two. would you like one? ’
