My son (and his friend) are having a Dumb Kid Learning Experience and I am highly amused.
Boy went out last night with friends and decided to go to Wendy's at midnight for burgers. They then proceeded to drive to the local grocery store to eat said burgers in that parking lot instead of at Wendy's. Apparently they sat there for a bit eating, with the headlights/radio/gps/whatever on when the radio just shut off. Coincidentally, I texted the kid to see when he was coming home and he replied with a ‘uh, we were just trying to leave but the car won’t start.’ The lights and everything still worked, the car clicked when they tried to start it, but nothing else. I thought it was either the battery (weird that the lights work, but yeah I’ve seen that before) or he ran out of gas. Bottom line, I came to get them (its 1am), dropped other kid off at his house and he’ll deal with it later.
Later has now arrived, and they think its the battery. Boy drives to friend’s car and pulls out the battery jumper thingy (not jumper cables, but an actual car jumper thing with a battery idk, we all have one in our cars) and proceeds to try to start friend’s car. No good. Car just clicks. Boy calls me because they’re not sure if they’re using it wrong, or if something else is wrong. It’s raining, I don’t want to go (friend’s mother is out of the country and father is very ill and unable to drive anymore) so I send my husband.
It will be interesting to see how this turns out.
