Happy Children's Day! I am uploading later than usual today after finishing up some work and after quickly searching though my photo library, I realized I do not have a single photo of myself as a kid. Of course it can't be that strange, given I would never have a reason to reflect on a saved file of myself almost two decades ago, but at the same time it's interesting to think that as an adult I am trying to maintain childlike insights in the meaning of Play, yet I have no personal access to evidence of being a child. Fortunately of course my parents have photos, but the thought gave me pause tonight. Anyway among other countries celebrating Children's day on the 20th, the day was first declared in Turkey in 1929 according to The Independent and the day is meant to raise awareness about the welfare of children and organizations to consider the needs of the smaller voices that often go unheard. Coincidentally tomorrow I will be visiting the International school of Billund where I will see first hand how amazing kids can be when given a great education and resources.
