                          “    hey  numbuh  three  ,  what  can  i  do  for  you  ?     ”   sure  there  were  plenty  of  other  kids     (   mainly  fawning  cadets  ,  which  was  fine  .  then  there  were  the  scientists  that  insisted  their  paperwork  be  ceremoniously  placed  at  the  top  of  the  pile  to  be  finished  first  ;  claiming  they  were  bullied  into  coming  later  in  the  day  .    )  crowding  around  the  supreme  leader  ,  but  she  didn’t  feel  like  doing  anymore  work  for  the  next  couple  minutes  .   “      actually  ,  there  is  something  you  could  do  for  me  :  follow  me  back  to  my  office  .  if  you  have  time  ,  that  is  .      ”

       “      i’d  like  to   believe   so  .  there’s  a  lot  i  can  say  on  the  matter  of  friends     ---  then  again  ,  i  can’t  say  much  at  all  .  sure  a  lot  of  kids   claim   they’re  my  friends  but  when  it  gets  right  down  to  it       ...    are  they  really  ?      or  are  they  just  saying  that  because  i’m  thei r     supreme  leader     ?     ”       the  operation  against  father  where  they  turned  into  animals  was  a    great  example    of  who  was  really  her  friend  .  left  for  ...  well   ,  not  exactly   dead  ,  but  something  similar  .  friends  were  ...  a  touchy  subject  .

      chad  was  gone  ,  patton  was  at  arctic  base  more  often  than  not  ...  fanny  ---  how  she  wishes  fanny  were  her  friend  but  the  ginger  would  rather  see  her  as  her   superior  officer   than  anything  close  to  friendship  .

      kuki  was   different  .  they’d  spend  time  in  her  office  ;  just  sitting  ,  never  a  hassle  .  their  clashing  personalities  surprisingly  fit  fairly  well  ,    and  ...   maybe   rachel  could  consider  the  younger  operative  a  friend  .
