notes: I actually started this fic back in October. It was my way of organizing my thoughts and trying to find a way, any way, I could see Simon and Kieren actually getting some kind of 'happy ending' once everything inevitably comes to light.

I have this MIGHTY NEED. About how Kieren left on the train without a ticket (Raoton railway is shit like that) and makes it to Paris, and like sooner or later everyone thinks Kieren IS THE CHOSEN. AND LIKE WE SEE HIM IN PARIS LIVING THE GOOD LIFE WITH THAT NIPPLE HAT THAT HIS DAD GAVE HIM (such a cutie in that hat) AND THEN VICTUS ABD THE ULA COME. THEN ACTION AND THRILLER AND KIERENSIMON

so i got this last night right after finishing the marathon so i was tired and emotional and oh my god this cracked me the FUCK up. easily the best message i've gotten all week for the 'nipple hat' comment alone oh my god.

but i decided to wait until i had slept to reply because lord knows what i would've said in the state i was in last night lol

but yes GOOD. 

just imagine the ULA getting informed that kieren is the first risen only he's no longer there so the undead prophet sends simon to paris to complete his mission, and amy is left behind in roarton where her and phil reconnect and HAVE A HAPPY ENDING

and like, the ritual has to be completed on a certain day at a certain time and simon finds kieren much too easily (because kieren is obv unaware of the danger he's in) so he's got more time on his hands than he expected and he starts following kieren around, trying to see why kieren is special.

and he does.

he sees kieren's kindness, kieren's warmth (despite the lack of body temperature), he's sees kieren's good, pure heart. and he falls in love. and when the day comes where he's supposed to take's kieren's life, he can't. he can't even lift the knife.

but he knows that with his failure, kieren's life is still in danger. only now simon's is too. so it only makes sense for him to finally reach out and contact him. to let him know the danger, to offer kieren his protection. kieren refuses at first, thinking simon is clearly insane... but when simon saves his life the very next day, he has no choice and accepts his help and they go on the run.

(it's simon's selflessness, his backbone and strength despite all he's faced in life, and simon's unwavering (but not blind, he'll never follow blindly again) faith in him, that makes kieren fall in love right back.)

Rachel esp if it's around kieren i would like to get a moment where we see kieren just be really really attracted to simon like he walks into the house and simon is changing and he's like "simon i--" and just goes tongue tied AND SIMON the little shit realizes but instead he drops his shirt and walks over and is like 'kieren? what's wrong?'

Rachel putting his hands on kieren's shoulders, leaning in a little bit 'are you okay?' and kieren is just like 'um, i.. um.'

Okay I sent this to someone privately the other day and it's probably already been talked about a million times but I really really fucking love the line:

Because there’s what I believe... And then there’s you.

I love it because it's not just a line. Simon follows it up nearly immediately with proof.

For all of his preaching about how the living are trying to control them with shame, how they're pretending to be copies of who they used to be, instead of who they really are, hiding behind the mousse and the contact lenses for the comfort of everyone else... The moment Kieren asks him to put on the facade, to wear the contacts and the make-up, to sit down at a meal they can't even eat, the moment Kieren asks him to do this, he does. And all he says is (with a shrug), "It's okay."

Because there's what he believes, and then there's Kieren.
