What do you think Aburame bugs will do after their "owner" dies? I'm asking from a rouge Aburame angle? Do they die? Do they go back home? Or do they just leave forever? Sorry but this has been in my mind for a while.
Hmm. I think it’s really up to you to decide.
Depending on how you decide to go with the whole body-sharing thing, it could be either way: bugs die; bugs go free and wild.
I don’t think the bugs have a ‘home’ outside their host bodies. The impression I got from the Aburame was that they made their bodies the home to their bugs, instead of getting it from some kikaichu nest out in the forest. But, that’s not confirmed, I don’t think, so you can definitely have a kikaichu home-nest somewhere in the Konoha’s woods.
Really, when it comes to stuff like this, your own logical explanation works just fine! And even if there’s a canon explanation...well, this is fandom.
