I've been rotating different snapshots of the road trip where Joey just talks about how bad they are for each other and Xornoth says nothing and dejgfordgrgs

Joey: hahaha we’d be sooo bad for each other…

Xornoth, driving, thinking: yeah, as if I’d ever fall for this crazy ass guy

And, then, inevitably by the end their understanding of themselves and each other has so drastically changed that they’ve become two people that could so easily fall in love (if they’re not already)

Thinking more road trip au thoughts... I just love those out of time feeling liminal spaces like laundry rooms or gas stations way past midnight... just the thought of Xornoth and Joey in silence at one of those..

Oh my god, yeah

The exhaustion as they lean against the back wall, trying to make the out shape of the bag of chips or whatever in front of them, and the electric light (that’s kind of giving them a headache) flickering above them

The sound of footsteps and they don’t even need to turn to know who it is, because as soon as he gets near he just sort of melts by their side- leaning against one another, holding hands and just looking at the bags of chips or whatever in front of them

Or, wait, Joey is especially spontaneous so he probably forgot to bring all that many clothes. Imagine if they have to stop at a laundry room to wash their clothes and they don’t say anything as they sit, time moving not at all as they look at the laundry going round and round

And, they’re always empty places. They’re always alone and there’s something nearly supernatural that makes them scared that if they stop looking everything will start moving again and they’ll lose each other for good this time

SAM DJABSJJS I had an idea for pre Road Trip and I think that the finale was a science experiment between Jimmy and fWhip that went so wrong it got 5 people hospitalised (Pearl got burnt, Lizzie hit her head and got short term amnesia, Scott and Xornoth both got (unfatally) impaled and Joey maybe fell out the window trying to get away. Regardless he also hit his head really bad and inhaled a ton of smoke). It was a disaster.

And in Joey's recollection of it, he "saw" Xornoth before passing out, which was weird because they were already suspended. Lol.

In Xornoth’s recollection (and what actually happened), they saw that Joey hit his head real bad and went down to be with him before also passing out.

On the road trip, Joey mentions this and Xornoth stays dead silent because holy shit Joey didn't even know they were at school that day. He didn't even notice. Brainrot.

OH MY GOD

That is so perfect (I can’t believe Scott and Xornoth got Christina Yang-ed)

But, like, Joey thinking he’s hallucinating when he sees Xornoth, their worried expression and the words he couldn’t quite hear (his ears still ring when thinking back about that day) and he remembers how this hallucination held his hands, telling him that everything was going to be alright and an ambulance was already on the way

(Joey passed out soon after, and he never even knew that Xornoth was in excruciating pain, metal jabbed in his insides, begging Joey to promise him to survive)

(This might also be the reason that for nearly a year they didn’t see each other, between the injury and the boarding school Xorny probably had a hard time trying to contact Joey)

(And Now they know that Joey hadn’t even seen them, perhaps had never even cared? Besides, he now has some friends he cares about and seems to prefer. So, why after all this time-)

I also think they both might have nightmares about it and despite desperately not wanting the other to know, they do end up soothing each other
