Well, also for her entertainment. Who wouldn’t want to see Mitsuhide roasted?

Also, while we’re here, can we all just take a moment to appreciate that Kiki has obviously been grumbling under her breath to Obi about how she’s considering slowly strangling Mitsuhide with his really dumb tie... thing? 

I honestly bet you this is how he convinced her to take the notes. Be grateful for the roasting, Mitsuhide, I think Obi saved your life in exchange for some mild public humiliation. XD

I’m just throwing this last bit in here because it’s pretty, and Kiki and Obi are somewhat next to each other.

hiii, i saw your akagami colourings and i was wondering if you could colour kiki and obi? individually or a panel of them together. if not, that's fine! i love your other colourings :-)

hi, thanks so much for the compliment, i appreciate it. unfortunately i don’t really have time to color anything at the moment, but i’ve seen some panels from recent chapters and as obi and kiki are my two favorite characters, i really do want to color them. here is some of my old work though, not sure if you will like them!

Christy. Hi! I’ve just turned off my laptop but lucky for you this one I’ve mostly been writing on my phone 😊 (let’s see how good the app is with posting and formatting shall we)

Kiki sits on the toilet seat with a great sigh she has been holding in since the moment she slipped out of the bed.

He didn’t leave yet. It doesn’t quite mean that he will still be there by the time she finishes her shower.

He is Obi after all, the man she grew quite fond of during their university years, the laid back, aloof guy who always knew the best places and the hidden treasures of every city they visited together. Back in the day he was a smooth criminal, flirting his way through life, gaining free food, accommodation and sometimes even grades for it - and no matter how daring what he said was, he never earned any scornful glances. This part of him didn’t change. He still earned his complementary ticket to the morning flight from a smiling attendant, no matter how harsh he criticised the system.

He didn’t change, neither his fresh smile, nor his playful jabs. But did his instinct to flee?

These volumes were mostly the Tanbarun arc so there wasn’t, ya know, a lot of screen time between the two of them, BUT I FOUND SOME. I FOUND SOME FOR YOU

The above picture was literally the only shot of the two of them together in volume five which is FINE, I GUESS. They can have friendship development off stage. I am just enjoying the fact that Obi clearly follows her around like a little puppy and Kiki is like, ...I don’t entirely hate this. You may stay.

Volume 6 was also a little sparse on content, HOWEVER - hyperfixation is a wonderful thing and I literally just noticed the dynamics on Obi’s side of things when Kiki offered herself up as a Trojan Horse 

Check out this low-key concern on Obi’s end. Like Mitsuhide’s fretting is so loud in this scene that it almost drowns out Obi’s concern as well.

I know I’ve waxed poetic about how good of a guard Obi is in the past. People don’t even notice that he’s protecting them, which makes those few moments where he uses his word things as a guard all the more pronounced.

Kiki, like Shirayuki, is going to do what she wants. He’s not going to stop them. But he is going to protect them in his own way... just also in a way that Miss Kiki won’t notice and beat him up XD

(Honestly, he’s such a dad friend)

Obi would clearly be the best person to do negotiations with the Claw because, as he says, he has a lot of experience with the underground, but here he’s pulling back, hanging out with Kiki, and watching until the very last second to see if she wants to pull out. Which clearly she won’t. But still... does my little broTP heart good to see this moment happen T_T

Nonetheless, he is a persistent Obi bird. He will make The Most Friends. The Best Friends.

I have nothing really to say about this moment other than this moment is HILARIOUS and they’re standing next to each other for it and all KikiObi Moments must go into the collection XD

Although I will say that I love all these moments where Kiki gleefully gives up intel on Mitsuhide and Zen. It’s kind of those moments where she could have kept her mouth shut and if it were anyone else, she would have kept her mouth shut, and yet here she is, leaning in and telling the new guy all the embarrassing deets about her crush.

I really enjoy all these moments where it is clear that Kiki and Obi have had conversations off screen. He could have told anyone in the group that he was following behind on the horse, but the only person he feels comfortable enough with (also read: the only one in the group he trusts not to pry) is Kiki.

This is legit one of the cutest things. Obi’s running after her like a little kid being left behind. PRINCESS KIKI! PRINCESS KIKI!! DID U PERHAPS FORGET UR OBI????? *scamper scamper*

And the cherry on top: Kiki’s face kills me here. Obi frand, y u no ask Kiki frand to spar? She would like to spar! She would like to spar the most! >:(((( *pushes Mitsuhide out of the way*
