Quick sketch of Kikoku!
As I continue to work on my Kuina Wado comic, I wanted to show off one of the other named sword spirits that I made a humanoid design for (For cursed swords, I used inspiration from Hannya and other Noh theater masks)
Kikoku has one mean RBF, but she likes Law well enough. She's 8ft tall or so gjsjfb
-> ROOM ~
-> i'm really proud of this work tbh. -> FULL BELOW.
-> soft: SAI. -> time: ~5h
As Luffy Is To JoyBoy, Trafalgar D Water Law is To Davy Jones from the Void Century (The Ope Ope Nomi is actually Davy's Mythic Fruit but no one know it yet)
AKA the idea I stumbled across and now can not stop seeing
Luffy sails atop the ocean in full view of the sun on a ship called the 1000 Sunny, Law in contrast is the prominent (only) pirate to sail BENEATH the waters in Davy's Domain without any apparent fear of doing so at all, and his team are stated to be extremely effective marine combat experts
All of Law's crew named after animals are marine mammals, fish, birds etc. Animals dependant on the ocean to survive and thus at least part way under Davy's own protection
Law is an avid coin collector. So is Davy Jones
Davy Jones is painted as both a massive plan maker and the book keeper - the settler of unpaid accounts. So is Law just by profession as well as personally (he sought payback both for Flevance and for Cora's death, and likely will want to go after Blackbeard for his crew)
Think about his Devil Fruit a moment. It allows him to claim a specific territory above the surface of the water and exercise full authority of it for only a limited amount of time. Just like say, a AMBASSADOR exerting authority over their embassy in a foreign land. It also explains why when Law DOES have that authority it is so blasted over powered compared to many other Devil Fruits. (Some speculate that the Ope Ope Nomi awakened would be comparable in power only to Luffy's own, which makes sense if Joyboy and Davy were equal opposites to one another before who both need to reemerge to fight Imu together and destroy the Celestial Dragons.
In conclusion Law is not being written in One Piece as merely just another random Captain with who Luffy just happens to be repeatedly allying. The groundwork has been laid for him to be view instead as Luffy's equal opposite and greatest ally in the coming battle ahead - a returned ruler of everything UNDER the seas with equal stake in bringing Imu and the Celestial Dragons down
And what's more? He is currently carrying around a sword of mysterious origins which appears able to cut through literally ANYTHING within Law's Room when he wants to do so . Including, sometime in the future potentially whole sections of the RED LINE ITSELF and unchaining his own divided Kingdom..
one of my hcs is that kikoku didn't belong to law, but law belongs to kikoku lmao
every time shits happened and something got left behind like kikoku's scabbard and even the wholeass sword herself on rare occasion, law isnt that worried bcs kikoku will somehow got her way back to him mysteriously, and then proceed to be very temperamental for some times before calming down lol

One Piece Trafalgar Law Doujinshi, Kikoku by Zom (Natsume)
This is an unusual story focusing on Law’s odachi sword, Kikoku. It is a cursed sword that used to belong to Corazon(!) in this made-up fan story. Kikoku cries every night so Law can’t sleep, either, until they come to an understanding…
A 14-page mood piece from 2014.
