Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting the lovely blue waters of Kikuchi Gorge, about an hour’s drive from my town. The shaded gorge was noticeably cooler than the seaside area, which is now reaching about 95F! I was very surprised with how blue the water is. Normally this is something you only really see in areas with Alpine water and Glacial silt, but evidently Kyushu has its own unique properties!
