A.N. this takes place after Erebor is reclaimed. everyone lives :). also, this is another short one. Sorryyyy
You were laid on your shared bed. Your husband strewn on top of you. You were both dressed simply. You in a soft night gown, and him in some comfortable pants. For the past few minutes, you had been tracing the tattoos that adorn his back. They were accomplishments in training, but also recently what they awarded him after helping reclaim Erebor.
He had been in and out of sleep due to your ministrations. Whenever you stopped, he awoke.
This time, when your hands stopped, you heard and felt him hum against you. Signaling you to keep going, but instead, your hands slip up into his soft locs. "You have such beautiful hair, my love." He smiled at the human term of endearment. And to the hands now stroking his head. "Just gorgeous," you finished. You knew how much hair meant to dwarves and you loved to egg on how much you loved Kili's.
You felt his face get warmer and warmer, and he chuckled at the compliments. The dwarrow placed a kiss on your stomach. "Thank you, ibinê," he muttered into your gown. The arms he had around your waist squeezed you a bit, then released.
You let your fingers gently massage his head. Your hands grazed the cuff of his ear, and he stiffened. His eyes opened and looked up at you. He had a small smirk on his face as he made eye contact. You giggled a little to yourself and whispered, "Sorry... forgot."
He winked, and you held his chin up. He blinked at you, and you just placed a kiss on his forehead. "Sweet face, too." You pulled him up and kissed one cheek then the other. His laughter only grew as you continued kissing all over his face. When you pulled back, he had the goofiest grin plastered on his face.
He had blushed nearly the shade of a tomato. It spread from his face down his neck. You thought it was the cutest thing in the world. "What have I done to be worshiped tonight?" He asked.
"Oh nothing," you started, "I just love the dwarrow I married. That's all."
"Well, let me try to return the favor," he leaned in, kissing you deeply. He pressed you back into the soft pillows. You threw your arms around his neck and nearly gave in to what he wanted.
But you pulled back, "Nice try. Tonight is about you," you gave him a tight smile. He winked again and then got back down to his original place. Kili nuzzles his head a little on you as he gets comfortable again, then pulls one hand out from under you and grabs yours. He places right back in his hair and then returns to his comfortable position.
"You are ridiculous," you muttered as you finger combed some of his locs. He hummed a little 'mhm hm' in response. You gave him a few braids. And when you finished, this time, he didn't wake up. Instead, the sound of small snores filled the room.

A.N. I had to include ear sensitivity again. HAD TO.
author's note: Kili's one of my favorite characters in The Hobbit trilogy and *ugh* he's just so freaking cute. So, this is completely self-indulgent (and maybe border-line stupid), but please do enjoy this drabble (which also took me way too long to write because I got sick three times, once in november and twice in december 🥲). I meant to release this on my birthday (jan 24th), but that obviously didn't happen lmao either way, at least I managed to get a fic out of my drafts despite all of my struggles.
also, big props to my dear friend @crackedpumpkin for helping me come up with ideas for this drabble & for being my beta-reader. I was struggling to write (like always) and she was a big help, so thank you very much my dear friend! 💕🤗

kili masterlist ★ lord of the rings & the hobbit masterlist
When Kili first met you, he thought you were the most adorable hobbit he's ever met. Kili was in the lounge room with the rest of the company who arrived in Bag End hours ago, trying to find a spot to sleep for the night after singing a tune he knew to heart. The tune represented the deep longing of the dwarves' lost home, Erebor. The home he was willing to reclaim with his uncle and the home he had heard tales of as a child. Everyone else had fallen asleep in their respective places and he was the only one who was awake, looking at the rune stone his mother had given him before he embarked on his journey, tracing the engravings on it with his fingers.
Placing the rune stone back inside his pocket, Kili got up from where he was seated. His throat felt dry, so he quietly sauntered out of the lounge room, trying not to wake the others as he made his way into the kitchen. Just as Kili was going to fill a cup with water, Kili's ears picks up on the soft creaks of the front door opening.
"Another guest?" Kili murmured, an eyebrow raised as he placed the empty cup on the table inside the kitchen. "There shouldn't be anyone else, unless there's an intruder or someone followed us..."
You had arrived home later than usual, much later than you had expected. Despite returning home at such a late hour, you let yourself inside of the hobbit-hole, your eyebrows knitted together when you noticed how the inside was slightly disheveled and noticed a dim light coming from the lounge room.
'Did father have guests while I was away?' you pondered to yourself as you quietly shut the front door. 'He usually doesn't welcome guests at such a late hour. I should check if he fell asleep in the lounge room again.'
It was well past the time for guests to be visiting. On top of the fact that your father wasn't particularly fond of guests at such a late hour (especially when it came to the Sackville-Bagginses or when he didn't know who his guests are), you had so many questions that desperately needed to be answered. Bilbo, your father, was always attentive to the home, making sure every little detail of the home was uncluttered. The looming questions that lingered in your head would soon be answered when you were on your way to the lounge room.
Once you pass through the round entryway leaving the entrance hall, you were immediately interrupted when a dark-haired dwarf loomed out from a corner, his hand gripped the hilt of his blade, only drawing it out halfway of its sheath. The sound of the blade exiting the sheath and your eyes catching the sight of said dwarf gripping his blade caused you to flinch as you held back a scream.
When Kili took note of your state, he swiftly reacted before you could potentially cause a scene by quickly sheathing his blade, bringing his index finger to your lips and quietly shushing you.
"My apologies," he whispered to you, removing his finger away from your lips when you quietened down. "I thought you were an intruder, so I drew my weapon out on you. I swear I mean no harm."
A wave of relief washed over you when the dwarf assured you of no harm. When you took a closer look at him, the fierce gaze he gave to you earlier was now replaced with a softer expression, his rich chocolate eyes gazing into your E/C eyes warmly from the dim light coming from the lounge room nearby. And for a moment, there was a comfortable silence between the both of you.
'He's a handsome dwarf,' you thought to yourself, unaware of how your face was beginning to flush. His slightly long, tousled dark brown hair matched the color of his eyes and unlike most dwarves who would typically have beards covering their upper lip and chin, he only had a stubble that matched his hair color. However, before you could get lost in admiring his features, you blinked a few times as you shook your head to snap yourself out of your trance.
"You must be my father's guest," you cleared your throat, nervously using your palms to straighten out your wrinkled skirt. "Is there anything I can get for you at all?"
"Oh, Mr. Baggins is your father?" he returned the question, his eyebrows raised up in surprise.
You nodded before answering him, now fidgeting with your hands. "Yes he is."
Kili's lips curled up into a grin, he couldn't help it as there was something childlike and innocent about you. Especially by the way you fidgeted with your hands, the subtle pink flush on the apples of your cheeks, and how soft your voice was when you spoke. It was clear to him that you've never travelled outside of Bag End, considering that just mere moments ago, he nearly drew his blade out on you! However, it was rare to meet anyone with the same childlike and innocent spirit like you, something he did not mind one bit.
"I—Is there anything I can do for you, Master Dwarf?" you repeated your initial question, snapping Kili out of his trance.
"Oh, how rude of me! I didn't introduce myself to you," Kili recalled, coming to a realization that he didn't even tell you his name. "Kili, at your service."
As Kili was about to bow, you stopped him from doing so by grabbing his forearms. "Oh, please don't worry about formalities. Please do make yourself at home, allow me to get you something to drink."
You released your grip on his forearms and proceed to make your way into the kitchen, Kili had also followed suit. As the both of you entered the kitchen, Kili took a seat on one of the chairs while you grabbed the empty cup sitting on the table that Kili had grabbed earlier. You filled it with fresh water and gently placed the cup on the table in front of him.
"Thank you," Kili spoke, taking the cup and bringing it to his lips.
You hummed, maneuvering around the table to take a seat across from him. After taking a sip of water, Kili placed the cup back on the table before speaking once again: "Since I've already told you my name, may I have the honor to know yours."
Just before you can utter a word to Kili, a familiar voice had echoed from the hallways. "Y/N? Have you returned home?" Turning your head to the entrance of the kitchen, your father, Bilbo, appeared at the doorway.
"Oh yes, I just returned home," you replied.
"You've returned home at such a late hour and I was worried sick," Bilbo fretted, his arms crossed as he shuffled over to your side. "And then I heard a small commotion earlier, which is why I came to check if you've returned home. Now, it's late and you should head to bed."
"Yes father," you murmured as you rose from your seat.
Kili watched as you and Bilbo disappeared from the entrance of the kitchen, hearing both doors of your respective bedrooms close in unison. Kili murmured your name under his breath a few times, smiling to himself before letting out a soft sigh.
"It's a pity that I won't see her again, this quest is far too dangerous for a sweet, innocent soul like hers."
Finishing the glass of water, Kili got up from his seat to wash the cup. He returned to the lounge room to the spot he claimed for the night, right next to his older brother, Fili. Once he had laid down and closed his eyes, he didn't think much about the words he uttered to himself just a few moments ago...truly believing in his heart that he wouldn't see you again.

You grimaced a little as your eyes came into contact by the first rays of sunlight entering through your bedroom window. You turned away from the window, draping your blanket over your head until you heard brisk, shuffling noises outside of your bedroom.
"Y/N!"
You groaned as you heard Bilbo call your name through your closed bedroom door. You sit up on your bed, rubbing your tired eyes as he bursts inside of your bedroom.
"What's gotten into you, father?" you inquired, albeit in the midst of a yawn.
"We're going on an adventure, my dear one!" Bilbo exclaimed, rummaging inside of your bedroom in search of some of your important belongings. "I've promised you that we'd go on an adventure one day, did I not?"
Your eyes widened, now you are fully awake, the weariness from earlier was gone. "Is it true? We're really going on an adventure?"
"Yes! Now hurry before we're late!"

At the border of the Shire, Gandalf and Thorin's company were on horseback, some of the dwarves were conversing with one another as they focused on the road ahead of them. Kili turned his head over his shoulder to take one last glance of the lush green pastures and hills of the Shire, then returned his gaze back onto the road as he quietly sighed.
"What's with the long face, brother?" Fili sought out, head tilting curiously.
"Yesternight, I met a hobbit girl," Kili answered, smiling subtly as he remembered the events from the night prior as he turned his attention to his older brother. "She has such a pure, childlike spirit, something that's rarely seen during times like this."
Fili hummed in response. "Perhaps after this quest, you can come back to see her again." Kili responded with a nod, then they turned their attention back to the road. They nearly made it out of the Shire until...
"Wait! Wait!"
Hearing Bilbo's shouts caused Gandalf and Thorin's company to stop in their tracks, pulling gently on the reins for their ponies and horse to come to a halt. The Company had only expected to see Bilbo, but their eyes widened when they saw you running with Bilbo as well. Kili's eyes had lit up when his eyes caught the sight of you. Fili took note of this and playfully tapped his brother on the shoulder.
"Is that the hobbit girl you mentioned to me?" Fili asked once again, a little tease in his tone.
Kili nodded, his lips curling up into a smile when his eyes are locked on you. "Yes, she's a charming one, isn't she?"
"Indeed she is, exactly how you described her," Fili agreed with his brother, softly chuckling.
Despite the many eyes that were on you and your father, you looked up and met the gaze of Kili and Fili. Kili's smile widened and he playfully winked at you, your face flushed and you adverted your eyes away from him.
"I signed it," Bilbo announced as he slowed down his pace, handing the paper over to Balin.
Balin takes the paper from Bilbo's hands before pulling out a magnifying glass to examine it. "Everything seems to be in order," he spoke as he puts down his magnifying glass and rolls the paper up. "Welcome Master Baggins and Young Lady Baggins. To the company of Thorin Oakenshield."
The dwarves' lightly chuckled amongst themselves, then they turned to their leader. "Give 'em a pony," Thorin declared as he silently commanded his horse to move forward.
"Ah, no that won't be necessary," Bilbo tried to protest. "My daughter and I can keep up on foot—!"
Bilbo's protests were left on deaf ears as he let out a shriek. He was lifted off from the ground by two dwarves and mounted on a pony. Before you could be lifted off from your feet, Kili offered his hand out to you.
"You can ride a pony with me," Kili offers. "I can teach you how to ride one when we get to a safe place to rest."
Shyly, you took his hand and Kili lifted you up gently with ease. You were seated behind him, unsure of how to secure yourself. So, you resorted to holding onto the back of his cloak, your fingertips bunching up the fabric of his cloak tightly to keep yourself from falling off the pony.
"Here," Kili began, taking a hold of one of your wrists and guiding one of your arms around his waist. "Put your arms around me, it will lessen the likelihood of you falling off the pony."
"Oh, are you certain? I don't wish to make you feel—" you started to fuss.
"I'm certain and you won't make me feel uneasy," Kili assured you, interrupting your sentence. "A true gentleman wouldn't allow a lady to fall off a horse, would he?"
You could feel your face flush at his words, you've only met him briefly the night before and it was as if he had you wrapped around his finger with his charms. But you did what you were told and wrapped your free arm around his waist. 'I suppose he is right,' you realized as you tightened your hold on his waist. 'It does lessen the likelihood of falling off and I feel more secure this way.'
Hours of traveling on horseback, the evening was drawing near, the sky turning amber mixed with pinks and purples. Luckily, the warmth of the sun still remained in the sky, which Thorin took as a sign to finally stop for the night. "We rest here," Thorin announced, prompting his pony to halt.
The dwarves and Bilbo prompted their ponies to halt as well, proceeding to dismount them as Thorin began to give orders. When Kili dismounted his pony, he held his hand out for you again to help you get down. You take his hand as he wraps his free arm around your waist, helping you get off the pony easily.
"Thank you," you said, giving him a soft smile.
He winks at you, his eyes having a mischievous glint to them. "It's not a problem. Would you like to try and ride the pony on your own?"
"Um...I don't know," you shyly responded, your cheeks flushing once again. "What if she isn't fond of me and I fall off? She seemed to be on edge ever since we've left the Shire."
"I'll teach you, I saw that there's a massive meadow nearby where you can practice," Kili insisted, grabbing the reins of the pony and your hand. "Come, let us go."
Before you could protest, Kili was already dragging you with him to the meadow with the pony. Once you two arrived at the aforementioned meadow, Kili immediately hoisted you up onto the pony, causing you to shriek. Chuckling softly to himself, Kili hoisted himself up, seating himself comfortably behind you on the pony.
"It's alright, Y/N. Breathe, relax," he reassured you, guiding your hands to hold the reins. "I'll command her to go and I'll teach you how to steer her."
Nervously nodding at him, Kili proceeded to squeeze his lower legs, a silent command for the pony to go forward. Your body stiffened when the pony started trotting at a rather stiff pace, but his arms remained around your waist with his hands resting on top of yours that were gripping onto the reins for dear life close to your chest.
"Relax your body," Kili instructed you, guiding your hands that held the reins away from your chest, bringing them back down. "She can feel your fear. Let go of your fear and she will trot at a steady pace."
It took a while, but your body instantly relaxed when Kili scooted himself forward slightly to help you feel comfortable, your back leaning against his chest. Your firm grip on the reins finally loosened up once your body relaxed and the pony began to move at a steady pace.
"There you go, you're doing wonderful already!" he cheered, his lips curling up into a hearty smile. "Now, guide her to change directions. Gently add pressure with your leg and use the reins to guide her head and neck in the desired direction."
You did what he had instructed, adding gentle pressure onto the pony with your right leg and guiding her head and neck with the reins. "You've done it!" Kili exclaimed, his tone bright and cheery once the pony had turned left.
"I really did," you replied, letting out a relieved sigh as you smiled. "It's because I have a mentor who taught me well."
Kili could feel his face heat up, his cheeks had a faint warm color to them. A part of him felt a wave of relief that you were sitting in front of him since you couldn't see the flush on his face. Could you perhaps be teasing him in return or were you just simply complimenting him? Whatever the case was, your words still flustered him when he's usually the one doing all the sweet talking.
"We should head back, your father must be looking for you," Kili cleared his throat, clearing the brief moment of silence.
Glancing at the sky, the radiant, golden orb that casted warm, luminous rays during the daylight was beginning to dip below the horizon. The blue and purple hues now dominating the amber hues, the luminous, silver orb gradually ascending into the night sky, casting a soft glow as it appears from the incoming darkness.
"Right, we should," you answered him. "Your kindred must be looking for you as well."
Kili proceeds to squeeze his lower legs once again, silently ushering for the pony to trot at a faster pace back to where everyone else was. Once you two returned to the camp, Kili lightly pulled the reins of the pony, ushering her to stop before he jumped off and helped you get down.
"Where have you two been?" Thorin questioned, his voice firm and filled with authority with his arms crossed.
"There was a meadow nearby and I thought it was be a good place to teach her to ride a pony," Kili explains. "We weren't too far away, uncle."
Thorin let out a quiet grunt at his nephew's response before giving out his orders: "Tend to the ponies with your brother. Don't you two ever go out of sight alone again, do you understand?"
Kili only gave his uncle a silent nod in response, taking the reins of the pony and sauntered away to where his brother had gathered the other ponies. You decided to follow suit, after all, you haven't even thanked him properly for teaching you how to ride a pony.
"Kili!" you called out to him as you chased after him.
Kili turned around, his eyes widened when he saw you. Fili took notice to this and smiled, tapping his brother on the shoulder. Kili turns his attention to his brother, cringing slightly when he saw his brother's knowing smile.
"Go talk to her," Fili urged him. "Why are you afraid all of a sudden? You've spoken to her many times, it doesn't hurt to speak to her."
"I know," Kili mumbled. "I...this is the first time a lady has ever approached me willingly."
Fili chuckled, putting a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Kili, we're not in the Blue Mountains anymore. She's a hobbit, not a dwarrowdam."
With that, Fili gave Kili's shoulder a gentle, reassuring squeeze before sauntering off to care for the ponies. Kili took a breath, walking toward you to close the distance.
"You called for me?" Kili asked, a hint of unease in his tone.
You nodded. "Yes, I wanted to thank you for teaching me how to ride a pony. I've never rode one before...and I'm glad it was you that taught me."
Kili's gaze softened after you spoke, he smiled at you before gently patting your head. "It's my pleasure, it is your first adventure after all. Anyhow, I should go to my brother, we'll be caring for the ponies for the evening."
With that, Kili gave you a wink before whirling around to find his brother to watch the ponies that evening. You watched him walk away before returning to the camp to find your father to rest for the remainder of the evening. Once you found your father, you had to hold back a chuckle when he stood with his arms crossed against his chest. Bilbo's eyebrows were scrunched as he muttered quietly to himself and once you finally reached him, his nostrils flared as he stared at you.
"Where have you been, young lady?" Bilbo chastised, tapping his foot on the ground. "We're no longer in the Shire where you are free to roam out and about by yourself. It's dangerous for you to be wandering out here alone."
"I wasn't alone," you replied, continuing to hold back your laugh. "Kili was teaching me how to ride a pony at the nearby meadow and I just wanted to thank him—"
"Either way, it's not safe for you to be out and about alone!" Bilbo interrupted you midsentence. "It's late and you're going to bed immediately, young lady."
"We're no longer in Bag End father," you argued back playfully, now beginning to giggle as you couldn't contain your laughter.
Bilbo opened his mouth to argue back, but he stopped himself as he let out a heavy sigh once he heard your soft giggles. "Just go to sleep, we're going to be up on our feet early."

As the journey continued on, Kili (despite his playful and flirty nature), began to feel a closer bond with you, though he would never openly admit it. At another stop for the evening, Kili searched all over for you in the area where the camp was, only to find out that you weren't there.
"Where could she have gone?" Kili asked himself as he continued sauntering around the camp.
Since the camp was near another open meadow with small bits of woodland, and he had to scout the area, Kili decided to take his chances to find you at the meadow. His eyes lit up when he had found you picking the flowers in the meadow, even picking some flowers near the woodland.
"What do we have here?" Kili teased as he sauntered closer. "A little lady shouldn't be out here by herself."
"Well, there wasn't much to do back at the camp, so I decided to come out here and pick some flowers," you explained as you smiled at him. "Back in Bag End, I picked flowers that either grew in the garden or in the woodlands. I picked them for my father so it could brighten our home."
Kili couldn't help himself, smiling at you when you mentioned Bag End. He could only imagine how you would pick flowers back in the Shire, something he hoped to see for himself one day once the quest was over. "May I see what kind of flowers you picked?"
"Of course," you replied as you gave him the bouquet.
Kili admired the flowers, his fingers gently tracing over the petals before he took note of a small bunch of pure, little white flowers with green leaves.
"Kingsfoil is just a mere weed," Kili mentioned, furrowing his brows. "Why did you still pick it up with the rest of the flowers?"
"I admire the little white flowers on kingsfoil," you answered him. "It may be a weed, but I consider it to be a lovely little flower."
Kili smiled at your response, he loved hearing your take on certain topics. Although, at times when your responses would seem naïve, he hoped that your innocent and sweet nature would still be in place after reclaiming Erebor. Albeit a part of him knowing that it wouldn't be the case for long.
"I admire how you see the beauty even in the smallest things, little flower," Kili said, softly smiling at you before handing the bouquet back to you. "May I join you?"
Your cheeks flushed red when he called you 'little flower', there was no malice in his words when he called you that. After all, ever since the start of the adventure, Kili has been nothing but kind and patient with you, teaching you how to ride a pony and even teaching you how to set up camp. You didn't mind the endearing nickname he gave to you at all.
"Sure, let's pick some flowers together," you answered him. "I can show you how to make flower crowns."
You two explored the meadow and the small bits of woodland, picking up flowers as you went. Once you and Kili had collected enough flowers, you both took a seat in a clearing in the meadow. With the combination of flowers you and Kili picked, your hands got to work as you weaved the flowers interchangeably with each other. Kili watched in awe at how your hands delicately weaved the flowers together into a flower crown.
"Do you often think about Bag End?" Kili implored all of a sudden.
You glanced up at him, your fingers paused on your weaving. "I do, all the time. Why do you ask?"
Kili gulped, he didn't want to impose on you and your father's matters at all. But, a few nights prior when the company rested in the caves (unaware about the goblins that dwelled there), he heard your soft whimpers and Bilbo's whispers about offering to take you back to Rivendell. However, before you could even take up your father's offer, the ground in the cave fell in and brought you inside the home of the goblins.
"Well," he began, treading carefully with his words. "I don't mean to impose on you or Master Baggins by any means, but I heard you crying in the goblin cave. Thorin can say things out of turn at times without realizing it, to which I would like to apologize on his behalf for the words he said to you."
You paused, you were not expecting anyone to hear you crying that evening. You remembered it clearly: while traversing through the mountains during a thunderstorm, stone giants had appeared and began fighting one another, throwing large stones at each other. You had slipped and nearly fell from the mountain. The dwarves and your father searched for you frantically until they found you on the edge of the cliff, hanging on for dear life. Before Kili could react and pull you back up, Thorin pushed him aside and pulled you up instead. Dwalin had said something about almost losing you and Thorin responded: "She and her father been lost ever since they left home. They have no place amongst us."
"I..." you hesitated, fluttering your eyes away from him as you were struggling to find the words you wanted to say. "I didn't expect anyone to hear me cry. However, at that moment, Thorin was right. My father and I really have no place amongst the company. I was beginning to feel homesick when we were in the caves and I don't mean to feel homesick at all. It isn't fair for me to feel that way when you and your kindred had lost the place you called home."
Kili immediately shook his head, his fingers gently hooking underneath your chin to have you gaze at him once more, letting go when your eyes met his. "Don't say that, little flower. You have every right to feel homesick, you are away from the things you are familiar with. Being thrown out into a place you're not familiar with is terrifying when you lack the experience to fend for yourself. On top of the fact that you nearly fell off the mountain when the stone giants fought, I don't blame you one bit for feeling homesick."
You sighed, your hands returning to work on the flower crown. "I just felt like a burden for the company, I even felt like a burden for my father. I shouldn't have joined this quest."
"You're not a burden at all, you are still a member of this company," Kili assured you. "After the quest is finished, I promise that I'll do anything in my power to make sure you return home safely. After all, you are helping my kin reclaim their home."
"Don't make promises you cannot fulfill," you replied with a dry giggle.
Kili chuckled in response. "I'm determined to fulfill this promise to you, little flower. I swear by it."
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。..・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.・✭・.・✫
As for you, your feelings for Kili began to grow for him in Mirkwood and Lake-town. After Kili had spoken to you about his promise, he made sure to remain by your side, protecting you at all costs from enemies. (much to the disdain of Bilbo, who often eyed Kili closely when he was with you, often saying: "Why are you looking at my daughter like that?" at any given moment when you were away from Kili's side).
Upon entering the woodland realm of Mirkwood, getting thrown inside of a cell was the last thing you thought of when the elves pushed you and Kili inside the same cell. At least the elves had found you in the paths of Mirkwood. It was much safer than being out in the woodlands with the giant spiders nearly killing you and the company.
Inside of your shared cell, Kili pulled out a emerald stone from his pocket. He threw it up in the air, catching it in his palm once it fell. Out of curiosity, you took a seat on the cool floor of the cell next to him.
"What's that in your hand?" you asked him, tilting your head slightly to get a better look at the stone.
Kili paused, both of his hands concealing the stone as he glanced at you. "It's a talisman. A powerful spell lies upon it, anyone but a dwarf reads the runes on the stone. They'll be forever cursed."
Your eyes widened when he brought the stone out of his hands, putting it in front of you. Taking note of your expression and your apprehension, Kili smiled as he gently placed his free hand on the top of your head.
"Or not," Kili continued, removing his hand from your head. "Depending on if you believe that kind of thing, it's just a token, little flower."
Kili lightly chuckled as you finally glanced back at him with relief washed over your face. He brought the stone closer so you could take a look at it.
"It's a rune stone," he explained. "My mother gave it to me so that I'd remember my promise."
"What promise?"
"That I would come back to her. She worries, she thinks I'm reckless."
You giggled. "I would have to agree with your mother."
"Really? I don't believe that," Kili protested.
"Kili, you've jumped in front of me while we were on the forest path and the giant spider almost killed you," you retorted back. "That's reckless, no?"
"At least my recklessness saved you," he justified with a playful smirk. "I'm determined to keep my promise to you, making sure you return home to Bag End safely."
Little did you and Kili know that his recklessness would truly save you once again. As soon as Bilbo arrived to the cells with the keys, he freed you and the dwarves from your respective cells, leading you all to the cellars of the woodland kingdom. Next thing you know, you are gripping onto Kili's barrel down the river of Mirkwood. While using the currents of the river to escape, a blare of a horn warned the elven guards guarding the river to shut the gates. When the gates were shut, orcs suddenly appeared, shooting an arrow at one of the guards and began attacking the elves and the company.
In the midst of the chaos, you glanced up where the elven guards once stood. Your eyes brightened when you found the mechanism that could open the gates, granting for yours and the company's escape. Removing one of your hands from the barrel, you reached up and tapped Kili's arm, maneuvering his attention to you when he felt your touch.
"Up there," you tilted your chin up to where the mechanism was. Looking up at where you tilted your chin, his eyes lit up when he saw the mechanism to open the gates.
"Come, let us go together," Kili replied, jumping out of his barrel onto land.
You managed to tread out of the river and Kili grabbed both of your hands to pull you out. He silently motions for you to head toward the mechanism first while he holds off the orcs. Mustering all the strength you had, you managed to climb up to where the mechanism that closed off the passage in your heavily soaked clothes.
Just as you grabbed a hold of the mechanism to pull it down, an orc at a distance drew its bow, drawing a notched arrow with a sinister luster. As Kili climbed up to follow you, time seemed to slow down when he realized in sheer horror that the orc's target was none other than you.
Feeling a surge of adrenaline, Kili acted on pure instinct. "Y/N!" he shouted your name, grabbing you and proceeding to push you back into the river as he intercepted the flight of the arrow.
Mere seconds before you fell into the river, your expression melted into terror when you witnessed the arrow striking Kili's leg and the grunt of pain he let out before he stumbled. Before you could even shout his name, you had already fell inside of the river. Fili managed to grab a hold of the back of your shirt to prevent you from drowning as he shouted his brother's name.
Hissing from the pain, Kili summoned whatever strength he had to stand back up and pull the mechanism down. Once the gates opened, the barrels began to flow down the river, Kili then jumps back into his barrel, the arrow snapping once he entered his river. Kili let out a small cry of agony, before gritting his teeth to endure the pain of the arrow snapping from his leg.

Upon reaching Lake-town with the help of Bard, whom you and the company encountered after escaping from Mirkwood, you noticed how Kili's condition began to worsen. His complexion was paler than usual, he tended to grip onto objects or his clothing tightly if the pain in his leg worsened. As the days passed, the dwarves and your father left Lake-town to Erebor. You had stayed behind (by the insistence of Bilbo) along with Fili, Kili, Oin and Bofur, taking refuge with Bard after the Master had drove you all away.
Kili's condition worsened to the point where he was bedridden. Fili, Oin and Bofur remained at his bedside while you just watched in dread as Kili groaned in pain, cold sweat drenching his entire body.
'What have I done?' you asked yourself as you watched how Oin, Bofur and Fili were frantically trying to bring down Kili's fever. 'He took that arrow for me when it should've been me...I should be the one enduring the pain, not him.'
"I need kingsfoil," Oin announced, using a dry cloth to dab off the cold sweat from Kili's face. "It's the only way to bring down his fever."
Recalling the kingsfoil you picked from the meadows, your hands dug inside of your pockets and you were luckily able to find one. Just before you could hand Oin the kingsfoil you found in your pocket, your ears picked up on the screams of Bard's daughters. Your eyes widened when you saw orcs once again, proceeding to force themselves inside of the home.
The unexpected orc attack was a blur in your memory, two elves from Mirkwood had arrived, driving out the orcs from the home. Once the orcs had been driven out of the home, they were about to leave until the female elf noticed the state Kili was in. Her eyes landed on the kingsfoil in your hands.
"Athelas," she murmured as she approached you. "That'll save him from the injury he's sustained."
Without question, you handed the herb to her. Oin, Bofur and Fili had settled Kili on the table after he had fallen off of the bed during the orc attack.
"Hold him still," she ordered as she pressed the kingsfoil onto Kili's wound.
Kili let out a cry of agony as the herb was being pressed against his leg while you, Oin, Bofur and Fili held him down. Hearing his pained cries had tears beginning to prick your eyes. As the female elf began wrapping up Kili's wound with a clean cloth, you remained by Kili's side as Oin, Bofur and Fili began talking amongst themselves.
"I've heard the wonders of elvish medicine," Oin murmured to Fili and Bofur. "It is an honor to see it in action."
Once the female elf finished covering his wound, she turned her attention to you. "I must go now," she tells you. "His wound will heal in no time, so you don't have to worry."
You responded to her with a gentle nod, your tears blurring your vision as you wiped them away. "Thank you, and please do be cautious."
As she took her leave, your ears picked up on Kili's soft groans of pain. You felt yourself shatter like a mirror, your tears threatening to fall from your eyes. 'I wish I can take away your pain,' you pondered to yourself as you brushed away Kili's hair that covered his face. 'Why did you take the arrow for me? It should've been me...you didn't have to do that for me.'
"Y/N..." Kili weakly called out for you, taking you away from your thoughts.
You turned your attention to him when he called your name, continuing to hold back your tears. In an attempt to calm him from the events earlier, you gave him a weak smile as you used your hands to wipe away some of the stray tears from your eyes. "I'm right here, it's alright. Lie still."
Kili heaved out a breath, pausing briefly before speaking again. "No...you cannot be her. She's far away from me...it was just a dream."
You shook your head. "I'm here," you repeated, your voice cracking. "Rest, recover your strength. You don't have to speak..."
"Do you think she could've loved me?" he feverishly murmured again, his hand reaching out for yours as his fingertips lightly brushed against yours.
After he spoke, the tears you held back began to trickle, the muscles in your throat beginning to tighten, preventing you from saying another word to him. You wanted to cry out to him, every fiber in you wanting to tell him that you loved him as you watch him slip into unconsciousness.
'I've always loved you, Kili,' you told yourself in your mind, you intertwined your fingers with his. 'You taught me how to ride a pony, how to set up camp and protected me from harm. You soothed me when I felt alone and homesick, and I listened to your stories about your childhood and the old tales of your people. There's no one else in my heart that I could ever love except for you.'
"Let's move him back to the bed," Oin suggested, snapping you out of your thoughts as he motioned for Bofur and Fili to assist him.
Bofur and Fili nodded at Oin, they sauntered over to the table where they had laid Kili on moments ago. Counting to three, they lifted Kili together and carefully maneuvered their way back to the bed, laying him down. After Bofur, Fili and Oin settled Kili on the bed, you sauntered over to them, pushing them aside to return to Kili's side. The three dwarves could only exchange glances with each other, you've never gone out of your way to push others, always displaying courtesy if anyone had been in your way.
Uttering your name with the utmost caution, Fili approached you and placed his hand atop your shoulder gently to not startle you. "Is something troubling you? You can tell me, please don't shut us out."
"I just want to be by his side," you mumbled to Fili, proceeding to seat yourself on a chair next to Kili's bed, one of your hands holding his once again as your other hand ran through Kili's dark locks, gently detangling his hair. "I'm worried about him."
"Little lassie," Oin gently urged. "You should eat something, you haven't ate anything for hours."
"I don't want to, not until Kili wakes," you sniffled, using the back of your hand to wipe away the remnants of your tears falling from your eyes. "I don't feel hunger at this moment."
"Well, you should at least get some sleep," Bofur attempted to reason with you, his brows knitting together when he gazed at your complexion. "It's been a tough couple of days and you haven't had a moments time to rest. Your father will be worried."
You shook your head, looking at them with swollen, tear-filled red eyes before pleading to them once again. "Please...I wish to be by his side."
Oin, Fili and Bofur could exchanged stunned glances with each other after hearing your pleas. You've never displayed defiance once, always complying with what's been asked of you throughout the entire journey. However, it seemed as if you became as stubborn as the dwarves themselves (possibly even picking up their stubbornness at a certain point). Despite Kili's feverish state when he declared his love toward you before he slipped out of consciousness, it was clear that you also harbored the same feelings for him.
"It's best to leave her be," Fili murmured to Oin and Bofur. "There's no way we can take her away from his side or reason with her. I don't want to take her away from him."
Oin and Bofur silently nodded at Fili. Fili then placed his hand gently on your shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Oin, Bofur and I will be here if you need anything. Let us know when he wakes, will you?"
You nodded, a subtle yawn escaping from your lips. Fili exhaled a quiet sigh through his nose when he could clearly see your eyes beginning to look puffy and how pale your complexion was. The childlike, innocent hobbit he met in Bag End had truly fell head over heels over his younger brother. Before Fili followed Oin and Bofur out of the room, his lips curled up into a soft, yet pained smile when he watched you stay close by Kili's side.
"I hope you keep your words to her despite your sickly state," Fili murmured lowly to himself. "Your little flower has been worried sick."
Later that evening, you remained by Kili's side, wiping his face gently with a cold, damp cloth to lower his fever. You dipped the cloth back inside of a bowl of cold water, wringing out the remnants of water as you carefully pushed the front pieces of his hair back and laid the cloth on his forehead.
Feeling the damp cloth on his forehead, Kili stirred slightly in his sleep. He slowly opens his eyes, adjusting to the dim candle lights within Bard's home and then his eyes found yours.
"Little flower..." Kili weakly called out for you.
"Kili..." you whispered, suppressing your sobs as your eyes begin to water once more.
Kili began to sit up on the bed and you slipped an arm beneath his shoulders to help him sit up. The cloth resting on his forehead fell off, landing on his lap as the upper part of his body was being supported by you. Had it been Fili or anyone else, he would've pushed them away and insist that he was fine, but with you, he didn't have the heart to push you away. It may have been such a simple act, but it was done with the utmost love and care. When Kili noticed your tears trickling down your eyes, he could feel a part of himself shatter inside.
"Why are you crying, my little flower?" he sought out, bringing his hands to cup your face.
Sniffling, you were about to wipe your tears with your hand. You mumbled something to yourself under your breath that Kili couldn't hear. Nonetheless, Kili pulled you in, both of your foreheads now touching as he wiped your tears away gently with his thumbs.
"I was worried about you," you sobbed. "You took an injury for me when you didn't have to! I should've been the one—!"
"No shh," Kili hushed you, gently pressing his fingers to your lips. "I made a promise that you would return home safely, it was worth taking that arrow for you."
You shook your head, removing his hand away from your lips. "I could care less about going home now, especially after what I've been through on this journey. My home is with you..."
It may have been the fever, but Kili could feel his face warm up at your words. He immediately knew what you meant despite the light searing pain in his leg and the high fever that was running rampant in his body. Kili pulled himself away from you, keeping the distance minimal and intertwined his fingers with yours, bringing your hand to his lips and pressing a soft kiss onto your knuckles.
"All it took was for an arrow to my leg for you to say the words I've been waiting to hear from you," Kili teased, his voice shaky as his lips curled up into weak smile. "I may have been in a feverish dream, but the words I said are true, my little flower. Amrali-zu." (I love you).
Feeling some tears beginning to prick his eyes, Kili pulled you into his arms. Even in his body's fragile state, he still found the strength to embrace you tightly as if you were going to vanish into thin air. You wrapped your arms around him in return, nuzzling your face into his hair.
"I'm still going to keep my word to you," he whispered, the tears in his eyes now beginning to fall. "I want you to return to Bag End with Master Baggins. Then once Erebor is rebuilt, I'll return for you."
"Promise that you'll return to me," you pleaded, pulling away from his embrace, intertwining your hand with his. "I don't want to lose you again."
"Give me your hand," he murmured as he pulls out the rune stone from his pocket.
You obeyed, bringing your hand out in front of him. Kili then places the rune stone into your palm, gently pushing your fingers to close it within your palm. "Keep this with you," Kili continued, his voice low while his dark chocolate eyes gazing into yours lovingly. "Allow this to be a symbol of my promise to you. Keep it with you when I come to Bag End."
The muscles in your throat tightened once more, so you could only muster the strength to nod at him, giving him a teary eyed smiled before embracing him.

[Bonus part]
A year had passed since Kili had made his promise to you back in Lake Town, the battle of the five armies and a year since you and Bilbo had returned to Bag End. Not a single day goes by without you looking at the rune stone at least once, sometimes more if the void in your heart felt powerful than most days. The battle of the five armies was something you still remembered clearly, as it was one of the last moments you've had with Kili before going your separate ways.
Upon reaching Erebor with Kili, Fili, Oin and Bofur, the dragon-sickness began to take over Thorin. He had ordered the company to search for the Arkenstone beneath all of the gold within the halls of Erebor, to which no one had any luck. You couldn't shake off the lingering ominous feeling in your gut once you came to Erebor, and the instincts in your gut would be proven correct...
Kili, Fili, Oin and Bofur began to search for the Arkenstone with the rest of the company. And you were left to wander about in the halls of Erebor briefly, as you sauntered around a quiet corridor, you hear your father call your name quietly as he silently motions for you to come to him.
"Father, what's the matter?" you whispered to him once you reached him.
Peeking his head out of the corridor to ensure that no one was around, Bilbo returned his attention to you and pulled out a stone from his pocket. The stone had glints of the rainbow with sparks of white radiance, shining of its own inner light. You blinked as your eyes focused on the stone.
"Is that—?"
Bilbo nodded. "Indeed it is. However, Thorin has been acting strange. It's as if he lost himself. He drew his blade out on me when I tried to escape from Smaug."
"Dragon sickness," you recalled the stories that the dwarves told you as you kept your voice low. "It's consuming him, it won't be right if you hand it over to him."
"You're right, my dear one," Bilbo agreed. "Just earlier on my way to search for you, I overheard Thorin saying that he'll slay anyone who's withholding the Arkenstone."
You paused, grimacing as you imagined Thorin saying those words. "Do you have a plan?"
"Don't worry," Bilbo assured you, placing the stone back in his pocket before patting your head gently. "I'll come find you when I come up with one, we're going to be okay, I promise."
"We made it this far out of Bag End," you gave your father a reassuring smile. "I believe in you, father."
Bilbo smiled in return as he leaned his forehead against yours tenderly before speaking again. "While I come up with a plan, act as if everything I said to you now didn't happen, do you understand?"
You nodded. "Understood."
Later that night, you wandered around the halls of Erebor. Your eyes were fixated at how grand Erebor was, for a kingdom that was underneath the mountain, it never crossed your mind at how vast the kingdom was.
'I've never thought Erebor would be such a majestic kingdom,' you pondered as you continued to roam the corridors. 'It's like the all of the tales that father has read to me when I was a child. I can only imagine what it was like before the dragon...'
Lost in your thoughts, you weren't watching where you were going and you had suddenly collided into someone. The dwarves in Erebor had been walking on eggshells due to Thorin's sudden change in nature, and you froze in place, spears of ice piercing your heart briefly before you heard a familiar voice.
"There you are, my little flower!"
You looked up, your eyes lighting up as you released a relieved sigh upon hearing Kili's voice. "Good evening, Kili. How are you feeling?"
"Better now that I found you," Kili teases as he playfully winks at you.
You gave him a shy smile as your cheeks flushed pink at his words. Kili had recovered from his fever and he was back to his cheerful self, something that brought you a wave of relief. Ever since he was ill from his injury, you had been worried sick about him (and rightfully so).
"Erebor is so vast," you tell him as you looked at the intricate interiors of the halls. "I've only heard of places similar to Erebor in storybooks that my father would read to me when I was little."
"It is indeed," Kili replied. "Growing up, my uncle and my mother would tell me stories about Erebor. Now that I'm here, Erebor no longer feels like a bedtime story."
Before you could reply to him, your father's voice echoed within the halls of Erebor, calling your name. You and Kili whirled around and Bilbo's eyes lit up when he found you.
"There you are, my dear Y/N," Bilbo smiled as he came closer.
"Good evening Master Baggins," Kili greeted your father, smiling in return.
"Good evening, Kili," Bilbo greeted Kili back. "Do you mind if I take Y/N with me? We are going to take over Bofur's watch."
"Not at all," Kili replied, turning to you and patting your head gently. "It is getting late after all and I shall see you by the morrow."
Kili winks at you before bidding his farewells and retiring for the evening. You watched Kili disappear into one of the many corridors of Erebor and then you turned to your father. Being the perceptive hobbit that he is, Bilbo's brows furrowed when you turned back to face him with a rather melancholic expression, but decided to brush it off and focus on the plan he had in mind.
"Shall we go?" Bilbo questioned.
You nodded. "Let's go."
That moonless evening was a blur, after taking over Bofur's watch, you and Bilbo snuck out of Erebor by using a rope that Bilbo had set a few moments ago before Bofur took notice of your presence. Upon reaching Dale, Bilbo had made an offer to Bard and Thranduil, giving the Arkenstone to Bard to aid with his bargain with Thorin.
Before the sun rose from the horizons, Bilbo had awoken you and you two snuck out of Dale to sneak back into Erebor without the dwarves noticing. When Bard and Thranduil had arrived to Erebor to negotiate with Thorin, Bard revealed the Arkenstone to him.
"They're taking us for fools," Thorin murmured, pausing before his voice rose. "It is a trick!"
"It's no trick," Bilbo announced, sauntering up to where the dwarves stood with you right behind him. "The stone is real, I gave it to them."
There was a brief pause from Thorin, as if he didn't believe what he was hearing before Bilbo spoke again. "I took it as my fourteenth share."
The conversation between Thorin and Bilbo became indistinct when your eyes locked with Kili's. His eyes were cold, as if the light in his eyes had faded away when he saw you again. The cheerful, kind-hearted dwarf that you've known completely changed in this moment, as if you no longer recognized him. Your heart sank when he turned away with a rather pained expression on his face.
"Throw him from the rampart!" Thorin ordered.
Yours and Bilbo's heads lifted from the ground, eyes widening as you feared for yours and your father's life. When the dwarves' hesitated, Thorin nearly grabbed Bilbo, but you stepped in between Thorin and Bilbo, shielding your father from Thorin.
"Don't hurt my father!" you begged Thorin. "My father is right, you've changed. You would've never gone back on your word or even question the loyalty of your own kin! The dragon-sickness is taking over you!"
Thorin huffed, pushing you out of his way and grabbed Bilbo. Kili's eyes widened when he witnessed his uncle pushing you aside as if your words meant nothing. He wanted to stop his uncle, fully aware that the dragon-sickness had taken a hold of him. However, he stood frozen in place, his muscles tense as he could only watch.
Before you fell, Oin and Gloin caught you before you collided onto the ground while the rest of the dwarves tried to stop Thorin. Before Thorin could do more harm, Gandalf had arrived, his voice booming across the land as he hustled through the army of elves.
"If you don't like my burglars, then please don't damage them. Return them to me."
Releasing Bilbo from his grasp, you sauntered away from Oin and Gloin and returned to your father's side. Bofur came over to your side and allowed the both of you to escape. As Bilbo threw down the rope, you approached Kili to attempt to reason with him. After all, you left without saying goodbye or an explanation...
"Kili..." you whispered his name, your fingers grazing his before he pulled his hand away.
"Leave," Kili said, glancing at you briefly before turning his head away.
"I—just let me explain...!"
"Just leave!" Kili repeated himself, raising his voice as he turns back to you. "I don't want to see you ever again after you abandoned me as if I meant nothing to you!"
You paused, suddenly at a loss for words. Taking a breath through your nose softly, you replied back to him. Your voice now turning as cold as ice to cover up the mix of guilt and sorrow you felt.
"If that's what you want, then so be it. I suppose the words we exchanged in Esgaroth means nothing to you."
Your eyes fluttered down as you followed your father, using the rope to climb down from the rampart. Kili's eyes followed as he watched you climb down, anger had taken a hold of him and the last thing he expected was to see you again after he spoke harmful words to you...

It had been well over since the battle between elves, dwarves, men and orcs began. You and your father had returned to Dale after Bard had ordered the army to fall back. As the women and children were being led to safety (including yourself), you could feel something in the pit of your stomach when you saw Thorin, Dwalin, Fili and Kili riding their way up to Ravenhill. Before you could even step foot inside of the shelter for your own safety, something in your mind was gnawing at you...the pit of your stomach beginning to churn when your eyes glanced at the fortress where Azog commanded his army.
"They're heading straight for Azog," you murmured to yourself. "Something doesn't seem right...I can't just shield myself away from this. If I step foot inside of the shelter, there's no turning back."
As the women and children flooded into the abandoned shelter, you pushed your way out of there, as if something had awakened inside of you to rush over to Kili's side. Not caring to alert your father or anyone, with only a dagger in your hands from the troll-hoard that Gandalf had given to you from early on during the journey, you rushed your way out of Dale to get to Ravenhill.
You weren't sure how you managed to get past through the army of orcs, dwarves, men and elves alone, but once you managed to climb to Ravenhill, you found Thorin and Dwalin analyzing the surroundings of the empty fortress where Azog and his army once was.
"Where's Fili and Kili?" you demanded, breathing labored as you ran over to them.
Upon hearing your voice, Dwalin and Thorin whirled their heads and saw you, your cheeks were flushed red from the cold winter, your hands riddled with fresh cuts and scrapes from climbing up the hill.
"Y/N, what are you doing here?" Dwalin inquired.
You shook your head, brushing him off and proceeded to repeat the initial question you had asked them first. "Fili and Kili, where are they?"
"They're scouting the area," Thorin explains to you. "Is something—"
Before Thorin could have a chance to finish his sentence, you already took your small dagger out of its sheath and took off to find Fili and Kili. Entering the fortress, the feeling in the pit of your stomach felt worse, as if you were going to be sick. Taking a breath to calm yourself, you treaded softly through the fortress, your senses remaining alert as ever. When you had found Fili, you immediately ran to his side.
"Y/N? What brings you here?" Fili asked, his voice echoing within the corridors of the fortress.
Shaking your head, you placed your index finger against your lips, causing Fili to go silent immediately when he took notice of your tense appearance. "Fili, you can't scout in here any longer. We must search for Kili before something happens to him."
Before Fili could question you further to ask what you meant, both of your eyes widened when you noticed subtle flickering lights, no doubt coming from the orcs that were hiding within the fortress. The sick feeling in the pit of your stomach returned in full force. Tightly gripping the handle of your small blade, you motioned Fili to follow you out of the fortress as you led the way.
"Kili went down this way," Fili whispered, keeping his voice low as he pointed toward the direction Kili went to before they parted ways.
Picking up the pace, you and Fili started running toward the direction Kili was. You could hear the louder footsteps coming from behind you and coming from another corridor of the fortress. As soon as you and Fili found him, he was luckily at one of the gateways of the fortress.
'Good, they have a way out of here,' you regarded to yourself. 'I only hope they can escape before the orcs catch up.'
Upon finding Kili, you heard the army of orcs that hid within the fortress get closer. Taking a hold of Fili's wrist and with all the strength in your body, you pulled Fili from behind and pushed him towards Kili.
"Get out of here! Escape and report back to Thorin!" you cried out.
Fili had collided into Kili, causing Kili to falter once his brother crashed into him. In their panic, their eyes widened in horror when they saw a pack of orcs behind you. Fili attempted to reach for your wrist to take you with him and Kili, but you turned back to face the orcs on your own within the fortress, armed with the dagger you carried.
"Y/N—!" Kili shouted, his anger suddenly dissipating for a brief moment when he realized you were going to face off the pack of orcs on your own.
"Just go!" you yelled, turning back to face Fili and Kili briefly before focusing back on what was in front of you. "Don’t worry about me."
Although you had no fighting experience whatsoever, you had your dagger ready to fight the orcs. Without another option, Fili placed his hand on Kili's shoulder.
"I'll go find Thorin, stay here with Y/N," Fili said.
Kili rolled his eyes, but Fili's fingers dug into his shoulders. "Now is not the time for your anger and stubbornness to cloud your decisions, Kili!" Fili continued, raising his voice firmly. "I understand you are angry with her, but she only did what was right. She came back for a reason and whatever that reason is, she saved us from death. Do you want your little flower to die alone in a cold, desolate place by these orc scums just for doing the right thing?"
Kili could feel tears pricking his eyes, the sudden realization now hitting him like a boulder to the head. No, he couldn't bear the thought or sight of you dying alone if he and his brother went to find Thorin together. Taking note of Kili's expression, Fili sighed. "Thought so. I'll be back with help, stay with her and hold the orcs off."
Fili sprinted away from the fortress, Kili then drew his blade and began to slash the army of orcs within the fortress with you. Only being armed with a dagger, an orc pushed you down onto the cold, stone floor of the fortress easily. As if time itself froze, you shut your eyes, thinking this would be the end until Kili's blade collided with the orc's.
With Kili's brief moment of deadlock with the orc, you quickly stood up from the floor and struck the orc with your dagger. Soon enough, Fili had returned with Dwalin and Thorin, fighting off the orcs that kept themselves hidden in the fortress.
"Fili, Kili, get her to safety," Thorin commanded. "Dwalin and I will handle this."
Without protest, Fili and Kili nodded and brought you out of the fortress. Once the three of you returned to the bitter cold of the mountain, there was a long silence, specifically between you and Kili. Then, it was you who decided to break the silence...
"Kili," you called his name, your voice low as you approached him cautiously as your hand remained inside of your pocket.
Kili didn't answer you, but his cold eyes locked onto your hand that was in your pocket. When you took your hand out of your pocket, you took his free hand and placed his rune stone in his palm. Kili's lips parted and the coldness in his eyes faded away, his eyes widened as he tilted his head to look at yours. His hands desired to hold yours, to press feather-light kisses on the cuts and scrapes you sustained, but you slipped your hands away before he could hold them.
"I'm sorry for leaving you and hurting you," you said, fighting your tears and the growing lump in your throat. "I only wanted to do what was right and that caused me to hurt you. I...I don't deserve to keep your rune stone, I would rather have you keep it and fulfill your promise to your mother. I wish for you to see your mother's smile when you return to her. She would be at ease when she sees you again."
Kili's icy demeanor began to melt when he noticed your quivering lips and the tears forming in your eyes. His features beginning to soften and he opened his mouth to speak. "But I—"
You shook your head, causing him to stop mid-sentence. "Erebor is reclaimed and I'm going to return to Bag End. Your end of the promise is already fulfilled, you and I don't owe each other anything from this point forward."
Taking a deep breath to hold your emotions, you turned around and sauntered away from Kili and Fili. Once your back was turned from them and you were at a good distance away from them, the tears you fought back now blurred your vision as you were making your return to Dale.
Kili didn't see you for the next few days after the battle, not having the heart to do so and it gave him time to process his thoughts from that day. His mind constantly went back to when you rushed to Ravenhill, saving him and his brother with just a small elvish dagger from near death even after he pushed you away. And when you returned his rune stone back to him, it broke him to see that you were on the brink of tears again.
That evening, Thorin decided to throw a feast in order to distribute the gold in the mountain to the company and the people of Dale as he promised. During the feast, Kili's eyes have been searching for you, hoping that you didn't leave for Bag End without saying goodbye.
It had felt like hours, but you and Bilbo had made it to the feast. Once Kili had spotted you, he noticed the expression on your face, the same melancholy expression you had when you returned his rune stone to him.
'What have I done?' Kili reflected to himself. 'I'm such a fool...'
Taking a deep breath, Kili rose from his seat and cautiously sauntered over to you when Bilbo left you alone. He uttered your name quietly with caution, praying to Mahal and Durin that you wouldn't run away from him.
"May I...talk to you outside for a moment?"
You hesitated, but responded to him silently with a gentle nod of your head. Kili offered his hand and you took it with your bandaged hand, his fingers gently intertwined with yours carefully as to not cause you any pain while he led you out to the balcony of Erebor. For a moment, you two admired the sky mixed with hues of pink, gold and hints of blue. The wind blowing ever so gently like a soft whisper, given the rather difficult silence between the both of you. Kili turned to you, lips curling up into a soft smile when he saw how the sunset casted a radiant glow upon you.
"Y/N," Kili called out your name gently, one hand entering his pocket. "What you did in the battle was a brave thing."
You turned your head to face him before replying, your eyes desolate of any emotion as you looked at him. "It's nothing, really."
Kili shook his head as he slowly sauntered closer to you. "It's not 'nothing', little flower. Even when my uncle was struck with the dragon sickness, you were willing to put your life on the line for Master Baggins when my uncle tried to kill him. And when you came to Ravenhill and nearly got yourself killed by the orcs to save Fili and I, that's what opened my eyes along with a small lecture from Fili. I was too blind to see it then and I pushed you away for doing the right thing."
Taking a breath, Kili gently took a hold of your hand with his free one. He then took his hand out from his pocket and placed the item inside of your palm. When your eyes looked down to see what he placed in your bandaged palm, it was his rune stone.
"I know I cannot reverse my actions or the words I've said that caused you harm," Kili continued, closing your fingers around the rune stone and placing his hand on top of yours. "I don't deserve to be forgiven, my little flower and I don't expect to be forgiven from you if you don't wish to forgive me. Once Erebor is restored, I wish to come back to Bag End for you. That is, if I still have a place in your heart."
"Oh Kili," you replied, the light in your eyes returning, your voice cracked from the flood of emotions as your bandaged hands now held his. "There's no one else who could ever replace you in my heart. My home is still with you."
Kili softly smiled, lifting one of your hands up to his lips and gently pressing a feather-light kiss on the back of your bandaged hand. "Then it is settled. I'll ask Master Baggins for your hand and his blessing."

Another day in Bag End finally came to an end as you took a seat on the sofa inside of the lounge room. Sighing, you took out the rune stone you kept in your skirt pocket, tracing the engravings that were etched onto it.
"I wish to come back to Bag End for you. That is, if I still have a place in your heart." Those last words he uttered to you a year ago continued to echo silently in your mind.
"Is something the matter, my dear Y/N?" Bilbo's voice rang into the lounge room as he brought in tea.
You looked up at your father and placed the rune stone back inside of your pocket before shaking your head. "It's nothing, father."
Bilbo heaved a sigh from his nose before placing the tea on the accent table. He took a seat next to you and placed an arm around you, pulling you close and allowing your head to rest upon his shoulder.
"I know that you long to see him," Bilbo began, leaning his head to rest against yours. "I've taken notice that you've been gazing at that stone he gave you to no end ever since our return to Bag End. You don't have to fret, he will return soon."
You sighed, there was no way you could ever lie to your father. Bilbo has always been perceptive, always having a sense if anything was wrong or out of place. After all, you are his only daughter and he always doted on you.
"The void I feel is heavier on some days like today," you confessed. "It's been a year since the adventure with Thorin and his Company, the battle, and the last moments I spent with Kili."
Bilbo continued to hold you close, pressing his lips to the crown of your head. "Kili will return, my dear one. He will return when you're least expecting it. And before we left for Bag End, he even asked me for your hand and I said yes."
Your lips curled up into a subtle smile, you could only imagine how it went when Kili went to ask Bilbo for your hand. "And if that happens, will you be upset if I leave?"
Bilbo shook his head, giving you a soft and loving smile. "Never. My little girl has found love and I cannot take that away. I only wish for you to seek happiness with the one you love. And if you ever want to come home, you are always welcome to come back."
Soon, your father's words about Kili returning when you least expected eventually came true. It was a normal, quiet spring morning in Bag End. You were tending to the plants in the garden, watering them with fresh water you retrieved from the river. When you finished watering them, you decided to go for a stroll in the nearby forest.
After strolling the familiar routes in the forest, you proceed to take a seat on a sizeable tree root, taking the rune stone out of your pocket again. You admired the stone, tracing the engravings on it once again like you've always done. The forest has always been a safe haven for you, even before the quest of Erebor. The soft chirps of the birds and the soft cascade of the river flowing nearby brought solitude to the forest. The noises were like a soft symphony to your ears, until you first heard it—a voice that seemed to tear you away from your lingering heartache.
"Little flower?"
For a moment, the symphony in the forest ceased to exist. Your heart seemed to stop in your chest, the voice was unmistakable. It was Kili's. You stood up from where you sat, your senses alert as ever like the elves, your eyes scanning your surroundings fervently as your legs carried you back to the paths of the forest. And there he was. Among the trees, Kili was atop a pony, the pony galloping to where you stood.
Once Kili reached you, he prompted the pony to stop and he jumped off of her before she could fully stop. For what felt like an eternity, neither of you moved. You stood frozen in place taking in the sight of each other. You could feel your heart hammering inside of your chest, each beat getting stronger, as if it was too good to be true.
Then, without thinking, without a single ounce of hesitation, you moved. Your legs carrying you to him as you jumped off the small hill separating you two, your arms reaching out and enveloping him in a fierce, yet gentle embrace. Kili managed to catch you once you jumped into his arms, wrapping them around your waist as he buried his face within the crook of your neck.
"You came back," you whispered, your voice strained with floods of emotions.
"I did, my little flower," he whispered back, his arms tightening around you ever so gently as he places you down and his eyes gazed into yours. "I'm here to take you with me back to Erebor, as I promised and with Master Baggins's permission and blessing for your hand."
"You're not upset even after I ran away?" you asked, your eyes averting down to avoid his, recalling the moment you left Erebor with Bilbo with the Arkenstone. Even when Kili returned his rune stone back to you after the battle, you still felt guilty for leaving him.
Kili shook his head before he tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear. "You and Master Baggins did the right thing, even though I never understood it then. You also saved Fili and I from death, and to that I owe you everything. I was wrong and I have no excuse."
You softly smiled at him as you pressed your lips to the tip of his nose. "That means I'm forgiven?" he asked, a tease in his tone.
You nodded. "Yes it does."
Kili gives you a playful smirk before pecking your lips with his. He then hoists you up on the pony before seating himself right behind you.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Shall we be off, my little flower?"
Being the King of Erebor meant that he had a lot of responsibility on his plate. Even before the Dwarfs defeated Smaug and reclaimed Erebor, he wasn’t overly affectionate publicly; that didn’t change once he re-built his kingdom. Kissing is a no go, but instead he would just always have you hold onto his arm as you walked, or vise versa. But when you’re alone in your shared chambers, its like he can’t get enough of you. Thats when he always makes up for the lack of attention and affection that he can’t openly show like he wants to, but if he sees someone flirting with you then thats thrown out of the window; literally. He will pull you up onto his throne and make-out with you infront of everyone if he wants to… and he has… many times. But most of the time; not very into PDA.
Fíli
Like his Uncle, he has a lot of responsibilities since he’s the heir to the throne. But he doesn’t let that stop him. Once he’s done with his daily duties as the prince of Erebor, he gives you his undivided attention and affection. He always makes sure you’re able to stretch your legs, so he usually like to take late night walks through the mines as you two attempt to not be seen by the guards. One time though you did get caught doing… something. But that’s a story for another day and time. Sometimes he will literally just slip away from the meetings to go and be with you but only if Kíli is there to cover for him. He doesn’t have a problem with showing you how much he adores and loves you, even if that means getting his head chewed off by Thorin for skipping his royal duties.
Kíli
This man is literally the definition of PDA. He doesn’t have as many duties as his brother so he gets to spend his free time with you. He doesn’t care who watches you two as you walk through the halls of Erebor with his arm tucked tight around your shoulders; paired with a proud grin on his face that reads “yeah thats right they’re mine”. He doesn’t care if his Uncle scolds him for it, you’re his one. He tends to pepper kisses all over your face at random times, which inturn makes you incredibly flustered, sometimes his own brother has to pry him off of you. He’s just a lovey-dovey type of boyfriend and he is not afraid to show it to the whole Kingdom of Erebor.
Dwalin
Not a fan of PDA at all. However, if he sense that you’re having an off day, or if he sees someone openly flirting with you…. well then it’s like he’s a whole new person. He’ll pull you into his chest as he rubs circles on your back, giving the person that was attempting to flirt with you a death glare and grinning when he watches them basically shit their pants and scramble away. If its the scenario where you’re having an off day he will find someone to cover for him most of the time with a threat before taking you back to your shared house as he gives you his undivided attention and affection. All in all; this man can quickly become the worlds biggest simp for you.
Bofur
Like Kíli, he’s the definition of PDA. As soon as he gets home from work he’s all over you; literally. He will physically jump on top of you if you’re ignoring him, especially after a long day in the mines. Which usually leads to you forcing him to get up off of you so you can fix him a bath. Even when you’re doing that, his hands are wrapped around your waist as his chin rests on top of your head. In public it doesn’t change, his fingers are laced with yours and he’s constantly finding an excuse to kiss you. You have something on your lips? Kiss. You turn to look at him? Kiss. He wants your attention? Multiple kisses. He just adores showing you how much he loves and cherishes you, even during the journey to reclaim Erebor.

Summary: You come from a kingdom where cutting your hair short is a form of punishment, intended to inflict shame upon the criminal. After being charged with crimes, your hair is cut and you are exiled from your homeland. How will your s/o react?
Warning: None
Kili-
- Kili would know nothing about your lands or your customs.
- He was fascinated by your short hair from the moment you met and would compliment you often.
- Kili’s eyes would be so confused when you’d respond to this by growing silent or ducking your head in shame.
- When you become comfortable enough to tell him, you expect Kili to question why you were punished or to never mention your hair again.
- Instead, Kili runs his fingers through your hair and presses his forehead against yours, insisting that you truly are the most beautiful elf he has ever known.
- It doesn’t matter what crime you committed or anything else about your past, only that you are his now and he loves you more than life.
Thorin-
- Thorin would have a guess as to why your hair is short but wouldn’t say a word about it.
- If anyone else mentioned your hair he would bristle, cutting them off with a glare.
- His heart always broke a little when he’d catch you angrily running your hands through your hair again and again, hating the constant reminder of your past life.
- When you told Thorin what happened, he listened quietly, then reminded you that the past was just that, in the past.
- In his world, you are his beloved, the one who was destined to rule by his side.
- And that was all that mattered.
Legolas-
- Legolas could barely conceal his horror when he first saw your short hair.
- His father had told him stories of the strange lands far away with kings who brand criminals so cruelly, however he thought they were just stories.
- It took everything inside him to conceal the pain and hurt he had for you and what had been done to your beautiful hair.
- He became your protector and your beloved almost instantly, there was nothing that could separate him from your side.
- Legolas cried with you when you told him, gathering you into his arms and whispering, “it’s all right, you’re safe, you’re safe,” over and over again.
- Regardless of what you did to be punished, nothing could ever justify this cruelty in his eyes.
Thranduil-
- When you first appear outside the castle in the middle of a thunderstorm, drenched and shivering, your hair freshly cut with jagged strokes, Thranduil dismisses his advisor’s caution and takes you into his personal care.
- He knows of distant lands where kings enforce this punishment onto their prisoners, however he did not expect those prisoners to be so beautiful, so helpless.
- Somewhere between nursing you back to health and soothing you through nightmares, Thranduil fell utterly and completely in love.
- He waits until you are stronger to broach the subject of your crimes, growing angry when you reveal that you had been the head of the king’s stables and were punished and exiled when his prized horse fell prey to a sickness you could not cure.
- The only thing stopping Thranduil from going to war is the fact you don’t want him to.
- That, however, does not stop him from cutting off all trade routes going to and from those distant lands.
- It is only fair that the king feel some of the pain that he himself has caused.

‘’Well then, that’s decided. It will be very good for you, and most amusing for me. I shall inform the others’’
‘’Inform the who? What? No, no, no! We do not want any adventures here, thank you! Not today! I suggest you try somewhere over the hill or across the water! Good morning!’’
You heard the door slammed shut as your father stormed back inside the house.
‘’Father, who was that old man?’’ you asked in confusion seeing your father frustrated.
‘’No one you should worry about (y/n)’’ he answered after clearing his throat and leaning on the door.
But then came this noise that made both you and your father frown, wondering what it could be. It sounded like, scrapping..? That was odd. Nonetheless, you and your father went on as if nothing happened. Well, your father acted as if nothing happened, you on the other hand had many more questions about the conversation you heard between your father and that oddly dressed old man, but you knew better than to ask your father for more information.
As the afternoon arrived, you both went out to run some errands. You needed to buy a few ingredients for dinner and so you followed your father as he made his way to the market. Specifically heading towards the stall of a fisherhobbit. After paying for the goods, your father thanked him and placed the fishes in the basket you were holding. As you two walked back home, you came across an elderly of the Shire. Your father talked with him, and you listened.
‘’She looks very much like her mother, stunning just like she was’’
‘’Yes..’’ your father said with a small smile. ‘’She is’’
The conversation ended there, and you made your way back home. Your father seemed sad, he was silently walking whilst kicking small rocks with his feet. You couldn’t help but feel sad at this sight. Your mother died when you were very young. Your father never really talked about it, and you never really asked questions until you became older. With time, you were able to have more information on what happened to your late mother. She lost her life when her and your father explored outside of the Shire and accidentally drowned in a river. This day left your father obviously heart broken, but he gathered all his strength and put it into raising you. Everyone loved your mother. She was kind-hearted, joyful, and selfless. Despite her being a human, she was easily welcomed into the community of The Shire. So, when the news of her death made its way to all Hobbits in town, all mourned her. And all gathered to provide your father with goods to make it easier on him.
That evening as you two ate, the doorbell rang, leaving the both of you confused. Your father got up and walked towards the door and opened it. You couldn’t see much from the dining room, but it looked like a small man at the step of your door. Despite him being small, he in no way looked like a Hobbit. He in fact was a bit taller.
‘’Dwalin, at your service’’ you heard the man say while bowing to your father.
Dwalin? What a strange name you thought. Your father introduced himself using the same sentencing as the man just did, but with more confusion in his voice.
‘’Sorry, do we know each other?’’ your father asked as the man stepped inside the house uninvited.
‘’No’’ he simply replied while looking around as if he was searching for something.
‘’Which way laddie? Is it down here?’’ he continued.
‘’Is what down where?’’ your father asked in utter confusion.
‘’Supper!’’ the man said while tossing his coat at your dad. ‘’He said there’d be food and lots of it’’
‘’He said? Who said?’’
But the man didn’t answer. Instead, he sat down at your father’s chair and started eating the fish that was in front of him. You were quick to get up, uneasy to have a stranger sitting this close to you. Your father walked besides you and stood in front of you. Despite you being half Hobbit half Human, you were short. You took your looks from your mother but had your father’s size. No physical appearance of yours apart of your height could give away that your father is a Hobbit.
You watched as the man ate most of the food that was in his sight. Your father barely got to save two buns so that you two could eat. And as if this stranger wasn’t enough, the doorbell rang again. This time, the man was a bit shorter, but looked much older. He had a long white beard that matched his hair.
‘’Oh! Evening brother!’’ the old man said.
Brother, how could these two be related? You questioned yourself seeing that one was muscular, and that the other was well, rounder. The two banged their head against another and that’s when you realized they were Dwarves. You never seen one with your bare eyes. The only Dwarf you ever seen was a drawing from one of your father’s many books. But they didn’t look like the two standing in your pantry. Your thoughts were quickly interrupted by a third ring of the doorbell.
‘’Fíli’’
‘’And Kíli’’
‘’At your service’’ you heard the two younger Dwarves say in unison as they, much like the others, bowed.
‘’You must be mister Boggins!’’ the dark-haired one said, which made you chuckle silently.
Your father tried to keep them out, and that’s when the other asked if the event has been cancelled.
‘’Cancelled? Nothing’s been cancelled!’’
‘’That’s a relief!’’ Kíli said while stepping inside.
These two seemed less proper than the two before. They walked around and wiped their boots on furniture, much to your father’s displeasure. The youngest Dwarf turned a corner of the house and his eyes met with yours.
‘’Good evening’’ he said with a smile.
‘’Good evening’’ you answered, smiling as well.
The Dwarf turned around and joined the others.
Less than an hour later, your house was filled with Dwarves. 13 of them to be exact. And the oddly dressed old man from this morning was there too. You learned that his name was Gandalf and that he was a wizard. The company, as they called themselves, talked about their quest to regain their homeland. A kingdom called Erebor that rested under a mountain. You listened closely as you were interested in the story. Much like your father, you always had an interest in tales and stories. The Dwarves and Gandalf then talked about few more things the quest involved, and that’s when one of the Dwarves spoke up.
‘’That’s why we need a burglar’’
‘’A good one too. An expert I’d imagine’’ your father replied.
‘’And are you?’’ another Dwarf asked.
‘’Am I what?’’
‘’He said he’s an expert!’’ the first Dwarf expressed with much excitement in his voice.
Your father was quick to deny that statement. After all, the Dwarf needed the aid of an ear trumpet, so he clearly didn’t properly hear what your father said. The oldest Dwarf agreed with your father, saying he hardly was burglar material. But the wizard became irritated and argued his case that your father would be an excellent burglar, noting that Hobbits are light on their feet and that they can go unnoticed easily. The leader of the company, his name was Thorin, agreed to go with Gandalf’s wishes and asked for the members of his troupe to take out the contract so that your father could sign it. As he began to read, your father’s eyes grew big. It wasn’t long before he started feeling faint and you could see it. After a few minutes, all thanks to Bofur, your father passed out. You were quick to kneel by his side to make sure he was alright. When he regained consciousness, you helped him sit in his armchair, where he talked with Gandalf. You listened to them as Gandalf told the tale of your great-great-great-great-great uncle Bullroarer Took during the Battle of Green Fields. And almost as your father was now convinced, he asked the Wizard one simple question.
‘’Can you promise that I will come back?’’
‘’No. But if you do, you will not be the same’’
‘’That’s what I thought’’ your father said with a small sigh. ‘’I’m sorry Gandalf, but I can’t sign this. You’ve got the wrong Hobbit’’
And so, the evening came to an end. You were, in all honesty, disappointed. You wanted to know more, and the only way to be able to do so was to join them in their quest. But you stayed silent as coming against his word wasn’t the right thing to do in the moment.
The next morning you got up and walked downstairs, seeing your father staring at the contract that was lying there on the coffee table. The house was silent, meaning that the Dwarves were gone.
‘’Father?’’
He turned his head to look at you and gave a little smile.
‘’What will you do?’’ you asked.
‘’What will I do?’’ he said with a slight chuckle, almost as if he thought your question was unnecessary. ‘’Nothing of course, why should I go on a quest to steal from a dragon and risk my life doing so’’
‘’Because you love adventures, we both do’’
‘’Loved adventures. It’s all in the past now (y/n). Adventures and quests are something way too dangerous’’
‘’But we would have a chance to explore the world! See it for ourselves after reading about it in books for so many years!’’
‘’We?’’ your father asked. ‘’There is no we. If I were to go, I would not risk the life of my daughter for a group of Dwarves’’
‘’Father..’’ you said while taking his hands. ‘’I’m not a little girl anymore, I can defend myself when needed’’
‘’Against chickens (y/n), the only thing that could threaten us here. The world is far more dangerous than three chickens running after you because you stole their eggs’’
You couldn’t help but chuckle at his words.
‘’I know that father, but they have weapons. They can teach us, teach me how to use one. And if luck is on our side, I would not need to use a weapon ever’’
You smiled a bit sadly and held his hands more tightly.
‘’Mother would have been so excited to be able to go on such journey, don’t you think?’’
‘’She would’ve yes..’’ you father answered sadly.
‘’Then why not honour her by helping them? She wouldn’t want us to stay in here when a chance to explore the world is offered to us’’
Your father looked at you, clicked his tongue, and sighed.
‘’You are convincing.. Way too convincing in fact. Your mother would be proud’’
You smiled and took a quill in your hand.
‘’Let’s go and explore the world then’’ you said with a smile still on your lips.
And that is how you and your father joined the company of Thorin Oakenshield.
So far, the adventure has been easy. You encountered trolls but escaped easily. You then came across goblins, which was a scary part but thankfully you had Kíli and Fíli to reassure you. You grew very close to the brothers as time went on. You pretty much were the same age as Kíli, just a little bit younger, but you two got along as if you knew each other all your lives. Now getting along with the youngest brother meant you got along with the oldest, but he seemed scary at first. He looked way more serious and sterner than his younger brother, but you quickly learned it wasn’t the case. They both goofed around a lot, and both were reckless. They both brought you in their ideas, which was fun to you. Now of course their uncle and your father weren’t fond of you three always wandering off. Their uncle didn’t like it because he wanted both his nephews to be more serious and show they can be responsible, and your father didn’t like it because he was worried that you’d get hurt as you didn’t know what could be out there. The night was slowly falling, and everyone were setting up the camp.
‘’Bifur, take the night watch’’ you heard Thorin say.
The Dwarf nodded and sat by a fallen tree log, resting his back on it. The rest of the company worked on various tasks that would be necessary for the night. Bombur was prepping the food to cook, Dwalin was making a fire as it was colder tonight. The rest were making the place as comfortable as they could.
‘’(y/n), follow me’’ Kíli said low enough so no one else would hear.
You turned around and saw him heading towards the small forest that was behind the camp. You quickly looked at the others to see if anyone was watching you, and when the coast was clear, you walked in the same direction as Kíli. But there was no sign of him, which made you frown.
‘’Kíli?’’
No answer. You looked around in every direction possible to see if you could find him, but it was no use. The forest was getting too dark for you to see him. You then heard a branch breaking behind you and you turned around quickly putting your hand on the hilt of your sword, ready to take it out. That’s when you felt a hand on your shoulder. In a split second you took out your sword and pointed it at the person behind you, making them back against a tree. As you squinted, you recognized the silhouette.
‘’Kíli are you mad? I could’ve hurt you, or worse killed you!’’
‘’You could never kill me’’ your friend said with a smirk on his face.
‘’Are you saying this because I’m a woman? Or because I’m smaller than you?’’ you said with a small scoff while putting away your sword.
‘’None, I’m just too good at fighting that’s why’’ he said on a joking tone.
You chuckled at his words.
‘’Don’t give yourself too many credits, if I must remind you, I was trained by you and your brother, so my skills are pretty sharp’’
Kíli laughed and agreed.
‘’Come, I want to show you something I found earlier’’ he said.
You frown curiously and followed him as he led you deeper into the forest. After a few minutes of walking, you saw a small pond and steam coming out of it.
‘’A hot spring’’ you said with a smile.
Kíli nodded.
‘’I figured you’d want to dip in it since you said you miss taking hot baths’’
You looked at him, a bit shy.
‘’Well yes, but it wouldn’t be safe’’
‘’And why not?’’
‘’Because we are far from the company, and we could get attacked’’ you said.
‘’I thought you said you fighting skills were sharp’’ Kíli answered, yet again smirking.
That smirk had some effect on you, but you couldn’t let it show. Or else he would tease you endlessly.
‘’Well, yes’’ you said, baffling out your words.
Kíli chuckled and started removing his tunic.
‘’What are doing?’’ you asked, thankful that it was dark as your cheeks were getting red.
‘’Going to take a hot bath’’ the prince answered as he set his tunic down on the grass.
You watched as his hands made their way to the laces of his trousers. You tried your best to not show how shy you were, but it was no use. The Dwarf prince could see your flustered look through the darkness, to which he answered with a small chuckle. He quickly removed his boots and trousers before getting in the hot spring. You stayed in your place, not moving an inch.
‘’Well? Are you not going to join me?’’
No words could leave your mouth.
‘’The water is pretty hot and relaxing by the same mean’’ he added as he rested his back against the stones of the pond.
Kíli chuckled again and smiled.
‘’Fine I’ll close my eyes, even though missing such a view will be a shame’’
You nodded in agreement and waited until he closed his eyes to undress. You quickly removed your coat and your tunic before removing your boots and trousers, leaving you naked in the cold air of the night. You were quick to join him in the hot spring before you would freeze, sighing silently as the hot water touches every inch of your body as you lower yourself more and more in the pond.
‘’Comfortable right?’’ Kíli said as he opened his eyes.
‘’Very’’ you answered, making sure that your breasts were hidden by the water.
Kíli smiled and looked at you. You could feel his burning eyes on you, they would not let you out of their sight. You couldn’t help but look at his hairy chest, his long dark hair falling from his shoulders, the tip being wet as it touched the water. You could make out the muscles of his chest and it brought a burning sensation inside of you. Your mind kept telling you to stop staring, that he would notice and that it would be embarrassing as he’d take the opportunity to tease you, but your eyes couldn’t listen. They were stuck to his chest, almost as if they were being hypnotized. And the prince noticed, and he couldn’t help but smirk at the sight. He knew the effect he had on you at this very moment, and he would be lying to himself if he said he didn’t like it. He loved it in fact. Because since he stepped inside your house back in the Shire, he has been obsessed with you. He could only imagine how you look under your dress. That day, your hair was gently tucked back behind your ear, exposing your neck to him and he ever since has been thinking of kissing it. Now your neck was exposed again, much to his liking. And he had to hold back to not pull you closer to him and give in to his fantasies.
The air became hotter, you didn’t know if it was from the hot spring or from the prince in front of you. It became harder to breathe, your chest was raising faster than it normally was. You needed to calm down, and quickly.
‘’The moon is pretty, isn’t it’’ you managed to get out somehow, stuttering the last bit of your sentence, hoping he didn’t notice.
The prince’s eyes looked away from you to stare up at the sky. The moon was full and shining brightly in the dark sky full of stars. There were barely any clouds to hide the beautiful view above.
‘’Yes, it is. Nights like these are some of the prettiest things in this world’’
You agreed with a small hum. While Kíli was looking up, you took the opportunity to sit more comfortably. What you didn’t know though, was that your new position would allow the prince to get a better view of your breasts. And he noticed as soon as he looked back at you. He felt his member harden at the sight but tried his best to keep his composure.
The distant voices of your companions could be heard as they called out that supper was ready.
‘’We should probably go back, before they start looking for us’’ you said, yet again stuttering.
‘’Yes, we shall’’ Kíli agreed, a stutter leaving his lips as well.
You both got out, trying your best not to look at each other, and dressed up as quickly as you could. The warmth of your coat helped keep your body temperature at a warmer temperature, which you were thankful for. You both walked back to camp and enjoyed a nice warm meal.
Weeks went by, the battle for Erebor was just over and thankfully everyone of your company were alright. Hurt, but alive. You and Oín were tending to the wounded, and you just finished bandaging your father’s cuts.
‘’You’ve impressed me a lot during this journey (y/n)’’ your father said while putting his hand on your cheek.
‘’You keep showing me how much your mother would be proud to have a daughter like you’’ he added.
You smiled and put a hand on his.
‘’She would be proud of you too father, for going out and exploring the world. Helping the Dwarves getting their home back’’
Your father smiled and kissed your forehead.
‘’Go tend to the others, I’ll be fine’’
You nodded and watched as he walked towards Thorin. You gathered your material and headed towards Dwalin, but saw that Oín got to him first. You then felt a pair of eyes on you. And you knew too well who it was. You smiled to yourself and turned around, now facing Kíli. You walked to him and kneeled in front of him as he was sitting down. He had a big cut on his right cheek, which was still bleeding down his chin.
‘’What do you think nurse?’’ Kíli asked, making you smile.
The tension between you two was still very present, even more since the dip in the hot spring. His eyes never left you whenever you two were near each other, and it very much was the case right now. His eyes were wandering up and down, taking in every detail of your shape. Your waist was beautifully shaped because of the belt around it, making the dress tighter and looking like an hourglass. Kíli could only wish he could see your hips, but the skirt of your dress hid them. The thing he loved most, was your bust. He loved how plump your breasts looked with how tight the dress was. Even though he couldn’t see much of the actual breasts themselves, he could very well see the shape of them. And it only made his fantasies stronger.
‘’You might need a few stitches’’ you answered as you got closer to him to have a better look.
His eyes directly went to your chest, as it was now too close for him not to look at it. You grabbed a clean cloth and gently wiped his cheek, making him wince in the process. You apologized and gently dabbed the wound to get a better look. Now that the blood was mostly all gone, you had a better understanding of how deep the cut was, and it thankfully wasn’t that bad.
‘’It’s not as deep as I thought, but you’ll still need a few stitches’’ you said while grabbing a needle and some thread.
Kíli watched you as you passed the thread through the eye of the needle.
‘It will sting’’ you warned as you gently held his cheek.
‘’It’s fine, it’s not like I never had stitches before’’ he said with a chuckle.
You smiled and asked if you could start, to which he nodded. You guided the needle through his wounded cheek and watched as he frowned, holding his knee tightly. You apologized and continued with your actions, stitching his cut in no time.
‘’All done’’ you said as you gently dabbed the cloth on his wound again.
‘’Thank you’’ the prince said while gently touching the stitches you just gave him.
‘’Don’t touch it, your hands aren’t clean, and I don’t want you to get an infection’’
Kíli nodded and put his hand away.
‘’Is your duty as nurse over?’’ he then asked.
You looked around and saw that Oín took care of the last person in need of treatment.
‘’Yes, all done’’ you answered while wiping your hands with another cloth than the one you just used.
‘’Then would you come with me to explore the kingdom?’’
You got a bit shy at his request. It wouldn’t be the first time you spend alone time with him, but it would be the first time since the hot spring. Nonetheless, you agreed happily. Kíli smiled while getting up, took your hand and led you down a staircase. The young prince had the chance to explore Erebor before he and the others joined the battle, so he knew exactly where he wanted to take you. You on the other hand were clueless, part of it because you never went any further than the entrance and the throne room, but also because you couldn’t tell what he wanted you to see. After getting down another flight of stairs, you made it to a smaller room where many jewels were. The sight was of course breathtaking, you have never seen any jewels, let alone so many.
‘’Unbelievable that these treasures were untouched. Smaug could’ve easily taken them with him, although he cared more for the gold than for anything else’’ Kíli said while walking to a table.
You followed him, almost scared to touch anything as you felt like it wasn’t yours to hold.
‘’Don’t be scared’’ the prince said almost as if he read your mind. ‘’You can touch the gems’’
You nodded and walked closer to the table he was standing in front of. There laid many small purple gems.
‘’Amethyst, right?’’ you asked as you reached for a bigger one that laid in the middle of the others.
Kíli nodded and smiled.
‘’You like them?’’
You answered with a nod and glanced more closely at the gem in your hand.
‘’It’s beautiful. I saw so many drawings of it in my father’s books.. I never thought I’d lay eyes on one, let alone hold one’’
‘’The color suits you’’ he said as he got closer to you. ‘’It’s the same color as the dress you were wearing when we first met’’
‘’I always loved the color purple’’ you said smiling. ‘’It’s the color of so many beautiful things.. Lilac, lavender, purple emperors, and lilac-breaster rollers’’
Kíli smiled as you listed everything.
‘’Beautiful things indeed’’ he said, grabbing your hand in which the gem was. ‘’But I know of something far prettier than all those you said’’
‘’And that is?’’
‘’You’’
You felt your cheeks change colors, a hot sensation taking over them. Kíli chuckled at your shy expression.
‘’You’re cute when flustered’’ he said, which only made you shier.
You couldn’t get a single word out, your mouth was glued shut and so was Kíli’s hand around yours you just noticed. His other hand then made its way to your red cheek, which made you look at him.
‘’(y/n)’’ he said, his tone more serious. ‘’I have to be honest and tell you the reason I brought you here, and I hope that you won’t hate me for it’’
Your eyebrows frowned in confusion, and in a slight fright too as you feared what he would say.
‘’Ever since the day I first laid eyes on you, I couldn’t take you off my mind. Everyday I thought about you, thought of how kind and how beautiful you are. I love every moment I spent with you, you make my heart warmer. And during the battle, all I could think of was that I needed to survive to see you again. You were my strength, and those wounds I got, I got them for you amrâlimê’’
You could not get what you were hearing. Not that you didn’t understand it, you understood all of what he said, all except from that last word. You didn’t know a single word in khuzdul. You watched as he reached a hand in his pocket and took out a small metal bead, which had an amethyst hanging from it. You recognized immediately what it was, having seen many in the Dwarves hair. It was a braiding bead. You didn’t know why he was offering you one, but you couldn’t take your eyes off it as you thought it was so beautifully made.
‘’In our culture, hair braiding is obviously very common, but there is one specific braiding that means more than others to us.. Courtship braiding is a tradition in which a braid is done and is clasped using one of these’’ he said, now holding the bead in his fingers.
‘’And so.. I wanted to know..’’
You looked at him, waiting for him to finish his sentence.
‘’I wanted to know if you would want to be mine, and only mine’’ he said.
You couldn’t believe it. Was this really happening? After weeks of you dreaming of that moment, it finally was coming to reality.
‘’Kíli..’’ you watched the bead in his hand. ‘’Are you sure about this?’’
‘’More than anything. I love you amrâlimê, more than I ever loved or will love anyone’’
‘’But.. I’m not of your kin.. Would it even be allowed?’’ you said while looking at him with tears in your eyes. ‘’You’re a son of Durin, aren’t you expected to marry within your kin?’’
‘’My uncle and my mother cannot control my heart (y/n), and besides, I’m not the heir’’ he said, gently rubbing your cheek with his free one, a soft smile drawing on his lips.
You were still scared. What if Thorin gets angry at him for not respecting the tradition of the line of Durin.
‘’Amrâlimê, trust me’’
‘’I do trust you, I’m just worried’’ you said silently.
‘’And I promise you don’t have to be’’
You nodded, putting your hand on his left cheek.
‘’Then yes Kíli, I will be yours’’
Kíli smiled widely and gently brought you closer before kissing your soft lips. The kiss lasted a few seconds, as none of you wanted to let go of each other. After both waiting for so long, you didn’t want it to stop.
‘’You are beautiful amrâlimê’’
You still had no idea what it means, but it sounded so well as it rolled off his tongue. You were drawn to the sound of that word.
‘’Amrâlimê’’ you repeated. ‘’What does it mean?’’
‘’My love’’ Kíli answered, smiling.
You smiled too and kissed him again.
‘’May I?’’ he asked, gently grabbing a lock of your hair in his fingers.
You nodded and turned around for him to braid your hair. He did a simple braid on the left side of your head. His touch was gentle, it was almost relaxing. You smiled as you felt him clasp the end of your braid with the bead. After he finished, he turned you around and looked at you.
‘’So beautiful’’ he said while rubbing your cheek.
‘’Should I make you one too?’’ you asked.
‘’Of course, amrâlimê’’
He took out another bead, exactly like yours and gave it to you. You did the same as him, braiding his left side while making sure to be as gentle as he was. Kíli loved your touch, it was sweet and showed how caring you were.
‘’All done’’ you said while closing the bead at the end of the braid.
The prince, who was now yours, turned around and kissed you again. The kiss was more passionate and showed how much love he had for you.

The pale light of the moon illuminated the city of King’s Landing, a dense blanket of snow covering the cobbled streets, tattered rooftops, and darkened alleyways underneath the crisp, starry sky. It was on this cold night that the Realm’s Delight was giving birth to her third child.
Her piercing cries of agony blended with the howling wind, creating a ghostly wail that flooded the halls of the Red Keep. At long last, the Realm’s Delight held her newborn in her arms with a gentle grasp, a beautiful princess, born at the stroke of midnight amidst a raging white storm. The child was a beacon of hope, a shining addition to the Targaryen dynasty.
Rhaenyra smiled softly as her finger caressed the soft cheeks of her daughter. The slight movement triggered a bubbly laugh to pour out the young child and a gummy smile to appear upon her face. Her tiny hands chased after her mother’s finger, eager to hold it, causing Rhaenyra to chuckle lightly to herself.
It was indeed a heartwarming scene of a mother and her daughter.
Her daughter. The daughter she longed for her whole life. Her beautiful, precious Valaerys.

Kili had left the Blue Mountains with no intention of finding a partner, he didn't think it was a priority, not when such an important mission was at hand.
Destiny had other plans for him however. All he needed was a single look at you to understand you were his One, but he did not dare to act until the Battle was won and he could confess his feelings and intentions safely.
After months of courting and Kili visiting you secretly in Dale he decided it was time for you to meet his family and the company he travelled with. They were the most important people in his life and he wanted to introduce you too in the group.
So, after nights spent thinking about how he could do just that he came up with an idea. A dinner. But first he had to tell the others about his courting and that made him a little nervous. He knew his position and he was worried his union would not be considered fitting enough for a prince.
Once a week the company and Dis had the habit of having breakfast all together. Kili decided it was the ideal moment to share his news.
If he thought he would have to face judgement or any kind of obstacle he was wrong. Everyone was very supportive, all of them ready to meet this sweet creature that had Kili's heart.
Together they organized a dinner for the following evening, everybody excited to meet you.
That afternoon Kili took a pony and rode to Dale happy to share the invite with you and stopped only once to arrange a bouquet of wild flowers to bring you.
When he knocked on your door you ran to open and Kili was there, smiling brightly behind those colorful flowers. His smile was your favourite thing in the world, he could light up the whole room with it.
Not even an instant after you closed the door he kissed you sweetly, as only he could do.
"Amrâlimê… I missed you so much." He kissed you again and caressed the braid he did the last time he visited you. After he had given you the courting bead not a day had gone by without you wearing it. Kili would braid your hair again everytime before he would have to go back home, so that you could have his touch in the hours or days you spent apart.
"I missed you too darling." you smiled in the kiss and he smiled back.
"I have good news for you!" he was so excited he couldn't keep it to himself anymore.
"Do tell my love."
"I told my family and the company all about us and our courting. They invite you to dinner with them tomorrow evening. They can't wait to meet you." Your smile dropped a little. Kili had talked about them a lot obviously, from his stories they seemed to be great. What if they found you lame?
"Did- did I do something wrong?" Kili asked, seeing you spacing out.
"No, absolutely not my darling, but... what if I'm not what they expect me to be? What if tomorrow they meet me, thinking I am more than what I am?" Kili caressed your cheeks and smiled again.
"You don't have to worry about it. They will love you as I do amrâlimê." you nodded, not really reassured, but less nervous.
The following afternoon Kili visited you again. You wore your nicest clothes and he had to take very deep breaths every time he looked at you, you were simply gorgeous. He rode with you to the Mountain and, the more you got close, the more nervous you were.
When you entered the hallways of Erebor your palms were starting to sweat. Kili noticed and took your hand, guiding you to the dinner room still smiling, because Kili always smiles.
When you entered, everyone was already waiting for the two of you. Kili had told you they were excited, but not HOW MUCH excited. Fili literally pushed Kili away to hug you and so did some of the other dwarves. Bilbo was a gentle man, bowing and kissing you hand, Dis made you feel at ease and Thorin kept asking questions to know more about you, his smile, so similar to Kili's, growing with each answer. Everyone was so sweet, your future husband had not done them justice when he told you how great they were.
The best part had been eating with them. It was so funny seeing Bilbo jumping up and down his chair to stop the dwarves from doing something and them not listening. It made you laugh wholeheartedly.
Kili watched you all night, trying to see if you were comfortable in the company of his family and it was very obvious to him you were enjoying them. It made him happier than he imagined.
The dinner was followed by a lot of songs and stories. You had never listened to anything like that and it had all of your attention. The way Balin would talk about their adventures or the songs, all of that gave you goosebumps.
Only when it is very late do you start to fall asleep, comforted by the warm hug of your Kili and the feeling of having found a new home.
Yknow that scene where the goblin king is falling on them and kili is looking up and about to yell and he's all cute??
Yeah imagine looking down on him after tickling him and he's breathless. His face is flushed, lips parted as his chest heaves with laughter and you've got him pinned because he let you
That's how you win.”
His grin widens, “ from where I'm at, I won.”
“ do you?” You trail off skeptically with a smile tilting your head in mock disbelief
