I'm pretty partial to the Antarctica scene, like most Blackice fans, but something about the scene where Jack meets Pitch again in Burgess after the Tooth Palace makes me feel soft, because Pitch and Jack are alone for the first time together and Pitch doesn't have any motive to hurt Jack. Jack strikes first, and Pitch just dodges into the shadows, so he can just inquire why he's still hanging out with the Guardians; I think the conversation wouldn't devolve into mind games if Sandy didn't interrupt. His delivered tone of voice is just... so softly curious and non-malicious when asking why Jack is putting himself in harm's way ("Frost?", "This isn't your fight, Jack", and "Teeth? Why do you care about the teeth?"). I just think he's much nicer to a neutral party like Jack when the Guardians aren't around; I think the Guardians bring out the worst in Pitch (being near them just overrides his common sense of civility and decency with pure loathing and sarcasm), and he kind of lashes out at everyone in his immediate vicinity (its definitely a bad coping mechanism, though)?
YES YES YES TO ALL OF THIS!!!!
Pitch's tone through that entire moment on the roof is so much more gentle and inquisitive. It's also the moment he pieces together that he has something Jack needs, and I fully believe that if Jack really was a neutral party, Pitch probably would've handed over the teeth without any sort of manipulation or bribery. He seems to drop his guard around Jack a lot, too - he's casually leaning on the bars while addressing him at the Tooth Palace, he's so unguarded on the burgess roof that sandy's appearance makes him jump back several feet, and obv the entirety of Antarctica.
Also these notes in the script absolutely kill me:
He's trying to make a genuine connection here, he's making himself vulnerable, and it's because the only time he can be that is when the Guardians aren't around.
I love that we get to see the first tiny hint of that softness on the rooftop, and I don't think the Antarctica scene would've been as impactful without it.
