Of all the people, it's Cap who asks Maria to go back out with them. Just to show the rookies he says (and smiles off to Phil's team. Fitz just about faints) But really, he wants a challenge and he doens't even mind that it once again goes to 'Kill Steve'. At least it's fun again. Now though, he has the rookies by his side and though they're all a bit rusty and have little field experience (thank God Maria goes easy on them), they all have heart and that's what being ahero's all about.
And the exercise goes well! Everyone has fun and learns from each other and new friendships are made. Until it’s discovered that the water heater for the mens locker room has died and this is only found out while all the girls are in the showers. Having just “not died” the girls are enjoying their showers thank you. The boys are forced to run to different areas and levels of the carrier to find showers with hot water. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem for the boys but some of them hid in the mud and others fell into Maria’s fungus trap and stink to high heaven. There is a track of goo trailing after them and the fungus and mud are beginning to cake on and are surprisingly hard. The words “SHUT FOR MAINTANANCE!” can be heard on multiple levels. Fury later receives a plumbing bill he is…..less than pleased with.
