it was incredible how such a tiny little thing could produce so much noise. it hurt his ears and his heart to hear his little one crying. not only had she strength, but an incredible endurance as well. at least every three hours she’d wake up to keep him busy. sometimes he thought he should have called her banshee, but his friends had explained to him that all newborns were that way. the only thing he could do was either feed her or rock her in his arms. he had found out that it seemed to soothe her when he carried her around in his arms, an activity his apartment was too small for, but they still had the hallway. he pulled the door close as carefully as he could, as to not upset the baby at his chest, and started rocking his torso back and forth, slowly pacing along the hallway. tonight, it was no good though, and he could already hear the neighbor’s door open.
