Best Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance of 2011

1. 

This series hasn't ever lots it's touch. Jennifer Estep does it again with the 5th Elemental Assassin novel.  Gin Blanco is all for revenge in this novel while Mab Monroe taunts Gin and threatens those she loves.This one is pretty much nonstop action with an ultimate battle showdown of fire and ice.  Gin's first priority is protecting her baby sister Bria with Finn's more than eager help.We get to see more sexual tension between Finn and Bria and it get's them into some bad trouble.  Gin is still hesitant to Owen about her feelings for him but their feelings for each other are passionately strong.Love them together!  Ashland is crawling with bounty hunters in search for the Spider to lure into Mab Manroe's evil hands.  We get an unexpected special guest and we find out what happened to Sophie and on how she lost her voice.  Spider's Revenge had all things fantastic that the elemental assassin series has had and will keep you up all night.Gin Blanco is the heroine I've been waiting for and eager for more of this brilliant series.

I've been waiting for Strider's book for a long time and finally here it is! Strider is a demon of defeat and Kaia is a harpy. Both of them combined equals lot's of passion and chemistry.  While Strider tries to get a godly artifact, Kaia and her sisters participate in the Harpy Games which is much like the gladiator games only Harpies play more feisty and dirtier.  Strider has always been my favorite Lord of the Underworld and the Darkest Surrender doesn't disappoint. Such a great fun read and very much look forward to the next!  Paris is next!

So we finally find out who is the Black Sun's Daughter! Jayne Heller and Ex go to New Mexico to get help from a priest to drive the demon rider out of Jayne for an exorcism. The problem is that the rider in Jayne doesn't want to leave and the demon rider surprises Jayne in a way she never expects. Killing Rites is definitely my favorite in the series with lot's of twists and unexpected conflicts. So glad that Midian from the first novel made an appearance in this one! Love his character and he always has an intriguing way with words. I'm surprised this series isn't considered in the horror genre because I very much consider it to be for it's dark and disturbing scenes with the exorcisms. If you enjoyed the previous novels you will definitely enjoy this one!

The story of Mira and Danaus sadly comes to an end in this fifth Dark Days novel. Mira the vampire fire starter and vampire slayer Danaus battle their way through the end of the natruri war and the Great Awakening. This has been one of my favorite series and was sad to see it end but it ended perfectly and just the way I liked.

Last but not least this was a long novel with five hundred and ninety-four pages split into parts of four mixed with chapters of Dani's point of view and MacKayla's. There was one chapter that I was not expecting to happen. It was only two pages but without that chapter I would not have continued reading but I had hope for Karen's writng techniques to surprise me and she did in every way.

In Dreamfever we left off with Mackayla Lane stuck in a realm of the Hall of Days with a beast that we readers had no idea what it was. There were clues of what exactly the beast was but I would have never figured it out without the first three pages of Shadowfever, finally revealing who the beast was. Once the beast was revealed I almost felt the same way Mac felt. For example what was the point of continuing? 

Luckily though I did continue reading. 

Jericho Barrons without a doubt is the sexiest swoon worthy hero in paranormal romance or urban fantasy writing.  His enigmatic feelings for Macyala Lane were always frustrating as hell but exciting at the same time. You never screw with Barrons cause he will screw you back. Literally.  

The fever series has been a thrilling tense adventure and this is not the end of the series. It's definitely the end for Mac's point of view but not the end for the Fever World.
