Most people just died within the first few weeks. At least, that’s what he had heard. But Gerard was right. BLI had tons of stories about the monsters that walked around the desert at night, the ones that would kill you without another thought. They never really gave more description than that, but they didn’t have to. Mostly anyone could come up with more. In Battery City, an imagination wasn’t allowed, but everyone had one.
