I could see it being a conscious choice to end the movie that way, but I do hope for a sequel that emphasizes that resistance to exploitative economic systems is possible! It’s nice to see stories of hope (even if they take place in space -- or maybe especially if they take place in space).

After all, there’s plenty of resistance to toxic, globalized capitalism going on here in the real world. Even if it’s just educating ourselves on where our food comes from and buying local and fairtrade, we can all do something!
