i am still mad that killjoys picked pip as the person to bring back out of nowhere when there were so many other options they could have gone for if they’re trying to undead someone instead of having a suprise death.

and that it took screentime away from things they could have actually given a more satisfying resolution to (e.g. what did jaq’s family situation end up looking like, who got custody???)

and it seemed kinda done to give zeph a happy ending in a way that didn’t quite look like anything i expected for zeph.

You need to watch Killjoys. It starts a little rough and looks like a usual heterosexual cliché at first but then it subverts everything. I have a feeling you'll love it.

It’s on my list I swear!!! Which unfortunately these days is somehow a surefire way to make sure that I won’t be watching them anytime soon because I’m apparently the worst...

Someone in the Killjoys tag said Pip’s death was fridging.

1. Can fridging be a trope that applies male characters deaths?

2. Even if it can, Pip’s death was still not fridging because it was part of an arc that was about him. People being sad and having it affect them in the aftermath does not make it fridging because it was not the main point of it.

3. I get what the show was trying to do with bringing him back, but it really did not work for me. Partly because the way it happened made no sense, and didn’t get decent attention in the episode, it was just a thing that happened (and felt like a distraction from other things I thought needed more attention). And out of all the characters who had untimely deaths, *that* was the one they chose to undo? Particularly when there were many others who died when I thought they still had so much potential for interesting things.

Was the (not so) subtext of that episode that Dutch and Johnny love each other so much that it’s going to save the entire universe????

I don’t know how to process that ending. Like is it a timejump to everyone having memory loss and they’ve picked up afterwards or is it an entirely changed reality from the Lady coming out.

And also, they made Dutch X Johnny canon! Kind of! And I never thought that would happen and I love it, but also am already worried about the ways I’ll hate it. Bc that dissatisfaction lingering from it not being their original lives and those looks between Dutch and D’avin. I see love triangle and potential rift between Dutch and Johnny (and the trio itself) and I’m going to hate that. But also, maybe worth it for the things I never thought I’d get at all?

There is one thing in that episode that has really really pissed me off.

Since when has Dutch flipped so much on what Khlyen did to her? The show started out with her knowing that he was a bad person and what he did to her was wrong and abusive but now she’s justifying how it made her who she had to be to survive?

And I am extra mad that it’s D’avin who has to tell her that yes he was abusive and you can’t justify it. When back in season two D’avin was the one trying to tell her that maybe Khlyen wasn’t her enemy and that he’d just done what he had to to do to protect her and I hated him for that.

Watching a bunch of reviewers (and fans) of Killjoys applaud the show for not backing away from the potential incest while at almost exactly the same time rant about how gross it would be for two non-related characters to become romantic is a whole new level of YIKES.

so! the killjoys s4 teaser! is it just me or did they set up dutch x john as some kind of fairy tale? i mean, "when the nights were long, and the days were deep…there lived a lovely, lonely warrior and a thief who was about to save us all." that's..how fairy tales start. i'm excited!!!

Yes!!! KJ does a pretty cool thing with how they integrate the fairy tale story telling thing as a way of processing their own lives, or at least for Dutch, who seems to have had fairy tales as a frame of reference her entire life. 

And have you seen the new information about the first episode? It looks like her and Johnny’s first mission being told to her as a fairy tale to help her get through being in the green and I am so here for that. I think I saw it’s going to be called Warrior Princess Bride too.
