It really doesn't take a genius to understand why people ship the two.

So Gon apologising to Killua in the chairman election arc seemed like a pretty big deal considering that Killua monologued that he would "make him apologise" for his actions. Not to mention that after Gon was healed and he woke up, he told Leorio that he wants to apologise to Killua for what he said during the chimera ant mission.

But despite that, we never got to see Gon apologising to Killua. We do find out in episode 147 that Gon did indeed apologise off-screen, and that Killua forgave him, but we don't know the details.

I believe that Gon only briefly apologised to him, but Killua quickly cut him off and said that he forgave him because Killua knew that he would not be able to separate from Gon if he gave a proper apology and if they actually talked about that night.

If Gon apologised, Killua might have lost all his self-respect and literally got on his knees to beg him to let him stay by his side. So despite that fact that hearing an apology was something Killua had in mind when Gon was on his deathbed, actually hearing it come out of Gon's mouth made him realise that he had it bad, and that it was for the better if Gon saved his words (at least until the next time they met).

Being an artist has me realizing small details in Killua and Gon’s character designs are opposites.

Gon wears short items of clothing, like his jacket and shorts, while Killua wears longer things, like his shirt and (longer) shorts.

Also, Killua’s shoes are way shorter compared to Gon’s boots, giving a contrast of long outfit w/ shorts shoes and short outfit w/ long shoes.

Also, green being Gon’s color, while also being the most common in nature, while Killua’s is the rarest, cause Gon spent all of his time in nature, while Killua barely did (compared to Gon).

Killua also wears his hair down, while Gon uses 20 fucking gallons of hair gel on his hair.
