for those like me with auditory issues: there's a device you can buy called a zipi which clips onto your earbud headphones so you can wear them around your neck & they're instantly accessible if you need to listen to music or muffle environmental sounds. it's a lifesaver for me, and you could probably make your own fairly easily!
