//Uhm...hi? Since no one else is taking the initiative to organize, I thought I would. (Though, I admit, I have no clue what I'm doing and I'm incredibly nervous about this whole thing.)
Basically: Our character belong to the Kilo Company
Companies are headed by Captains and it takes 3-5 Companies to make up a Battalion. Companies consist of 3-4 Platoons (led by their Lieutenant) with each Platoon containing 4-5 Squads. Squads usually contain anywhere from 4-10 soldiers apiece and are run by a Staff Sergeant. (For a skeleton Company you need 36 soldiers but most Companies run from 100 to 200 soldiers apiece)
Currently Capt. Dr. Winchester is the only Captain in the Company so until I'm told differently I am assuming he is the Captain in charge of the Kilo Company.
Corporals (Such as Corporal Novak and Corporal Stark) rank below the Staff Sergeants meaning that they are part of a squad. I thought it might be up to you two to decide if you wanted to be part of the same squad or not. Currently the Kilo Company lacks Staff Sergeants who would be your commanding officers so if you want to wait until we gain Staff Sergeants go ahead.
As of now (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) Medic Colton is ranked as a 'Specialist' which also places her in a Unit. See above for my little ramble about that.
I don't think that we'll have enough people for even a skeleton Company (well, not in Kilo anyway. The Easy Company might eventually) which means we have two options (THAT I SEE, IF YOU SEE OTHER OPTION: TALK!) : phantom roster or limitation.
Phantom roster is we make a list of names (ranging from 32 on up but I think the lower the number, the better) and use them as kind of fill ins. Bare bones only for them, and we use 'em when we absolutely have to. (When orders are being passed down the chain of command, when someone gets promoted/demoted, etc).
Limiting means we wait until we have at least one Staff Sergeant and one more lower rank member and using only that. There will be no mention of the other Squads or Platoons.
And since I took so long on that, I didn't get to everything else I wanted to talk about which is probably a good thing. Feel free to talk to me about anything (but especially our characters and this AU.) If you all want to I could make us a Skype group (assuming you all have a Skype) or a Chatzy or something and we'll figure this all out. Because we're in this together now (no matter how little you may think of me and my perpetual stupidness and awkwardness.)
