Pairing: kim jinhwan x reader
Summary: “Focus already, Jinhwan!”
While in the midst of your relaxing day off, you had received a phone call from the members’ manager. Curious, and a little irritated as to what he could possibly want, you picked up the call. He explained the dire situation, and you were quick to be on your feet. You agreed to meeting him at their practice room, and off you went to prepare as fast as you could.
You climbed the many stairs up to the practice room since the elevators out of survive for the day. How lucky.
“I’m-” You were walking down the hallway to where the boys should be when a sudden gust of wind blew in your direction. Your eyes widened, and you spun around on your heels to find a familiar person racing down the hallway. On his tail was his manager who seemed to be very much out of breath. They must’ve like this for a while now.
“You can’t catch me!” Jinhwan yelled, then picked up his pace.
“This is what the emergency was about?” You let out a groan, and shook your head. You walked into the practice room where the members were sprawled all around, trying to get as much rest as they could until the mischievous eldest was caught.
“You’re here!” BI let out a sigh of relief.
“I am gracing you with my presence, yes.”
“Never mind, go back.” Bobby joked, and the both of you smirked at each other.
“Sorry for bothering you on your day off,” DK interjected.
“It’s fine. I was missing all of you anyway, so this gave me a chance to see you.”
“Are you sure you don’t just mean Jinhwan?” Song raised an eyebrow.
“We all know the truth, Y/N.” June shook his head in disapproval.
“No use in lying, Y/N.” Chan crossed his arms. You giggled, and brought your finger up to your lips to shush them. The seven of you joked around, and caught up while waiting for the manager to catch up to Jinhwan. Though, he must’ve had enough when he came running back into the practice room, about to collapse from running so much.
“Y/N, you’re our last hope.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll get him, you rest up.”
“I knew it was the right thing to do when I called you.” He almost burst into tears, thanking you over, and over.
You rushed out of the practice room, and after the boy. You dodged employees, and idols as you maneuvered around the building. When you caught up to him, he was so going to get it.
He had reached the merch shop on the bottom floor when you managed to spot him. He was hiding behind one of the shelves, and you quietly approached him from behind while his attention was outside to see where the manager went.
“You know, you should stop giving your manager a hard time,” You scolded. He jumped out of surprise, and spun around to face you. He wore an innocent smile, trying to get on your good side.
“Y/N!” Jinhwan beamed, and engulfed you in a hug. While you may be mad at him, his hug was comforting that you felt yourself relax in his arms.
“You did this to distract me.” You pouted into him, and he chuckled.
“All right. Time to head back, troublemaker.”
“Ehhh?” He whined, shaking his head, and squeezing you tighter as if he didn’t want to leave.
“Can’t we just stay like this for a little longer?”
“Have you forgotten you have practice still?”
“Only because you ran away.”
“In exchange for you going back there, I’ll stay until practice is over.”
“It’s your day off though.”
You chuckled. “It is, but I like spending time with all of you too, so I don’t mind.”
“Forget about the members, just spend time with me only.”
“So pouty,” You smirked when you pulled away. You then leaned closer to give him a kiss. “All right. I’ll just spend time with you only, but only if you go back.”
The two of you walked back to the practice room together, and everyone erupted into cheers when they saw you. Then, after a scolding from the manager, Jinhwan was practicing with the members once more.
You snickered at the look of relief on the manager’s face.
“The others told me it was your day off. I felt I had to apologize for calling you on such a day, but when he ran off, what you said before came to mind. About how if we need anything, just give you a call.”
“Which you did in a state of emergency.”
“Yes, the emergency of the runaway Jinhwan,” He tiredly sighed, and you laughed. “So thanks, kid. You really helped.”
Practice was going well, and there was no more incidents where Jinhwan ran off. Though, as the long hours passed, it seemed he was getting fidgety. You watched with curiosity since he kept to be looking at you every once in a while.
Your eyes narrowed in suspicion. “He’s up to something.”
You were right. Not even a few minutes after you said that, you saw how whenever there was a brief break, he would inch closer, and closer to you. Then, when he was close enough, he would give you a big hug with a mischievous smile on his face.
You snickered. He was really trying to tick off the manager today.
He kept running to give you a hug whenever there was a break, and every time, the manager would yell his name. This only made him try even harder to get a scolding from him.
“Focus already, Jinhwan! This is no time to be playing around.”
The boys watched with amusement while Jinhwan was blatantly ignoring him.
“What? I’m not playing around!”
The manager gestured to you in his arms, being squeezed with all of the love in Jinhwan’s being. He shrugged, and smiled innocently.
“I’m just trying to get a hug for support.”
The manager let out a tired sigh, and looked at you for help. You looked at Jinhwan, and there was a sparkle in both of your eyes.
“Like he said, he’s just getting a hug for support.”
