Kimao
One of my older monster works, but they clawed their way here 😭
Just a basic overview of the anatomy:
Face plates: the two dual plates are connected at the gum and have a seperate bone structure, mostly closeted to prevent the mouth drying out. When hunting they shudder and click, the little claws are used to latch onto small prey.
7 eyes: obviously the central eye is the most visible one, the six smaller are for adjusting to brightness, the vision in the smaller eyes are pretty blurry.
Nasal cavities: Kimao has several nostrils across the body, the first one on the face, the exoskeleton creates a flat nose look with shallow nostrils to help hold their breath underwater, the second pair is at the base of the neck, the third and forth are on both haunches.
The exoskeleton: obviously for protection, it has steel like qualities with a stone like sheen.
Tail ends: Used for piercing and grappling, once the hooks are submerged, much like a fishing hook it cannot just be taken out.
Skin: the actual skin is like sandpaper with fine hairs, the underbelly is fluffy.
Poisonous spur: on the back of each leg, a poisonous spur can be found with fine hairs, self explanatory.
The HANDS: Kimao has opposable thumbs, the padding is similar to a gecko’s to grip.
