A pose base by albanenechi crossed my dash recently...ish and I went through their blog and saw one that really jumped out at me. Choosing which looks to draw was a tough decision. But I really really wanted to draw. I've actually had a bit of a rough few weeks. Pinched a nerve in the shoulder for my drawing hand and ended up barely being able to use the darn thing. It's still numb but I have control over it again and wanted to celebrate the huge improvement with some art. I also caught a nasty cold a week ago and I also wanted to celebrate finally being mostly over it. A lot of celebrating almost recoveries.

Over a decade after Jerrica inheriting control of Starlight Music and trying to balance that with running Starlight House and being the lead singer of the rock band Jem and The Holograms and all of the stress that came with juggling the responsibilities of two people her sister decided to step into a previously unheard of role. Kimber stepping into the role leads to growing pains and difficult adjustments to a new dynamic. Not to mention having to balance visiting Starlight Mansion more frequently and dealing with an aggravating man. Time passes and things change in unforeseen ways.

The first part of a sequel series to Unbreakable and Puttin' It All Together, but they are not required reading. You really just need to know that Kimber got hit by a car and Jerrica had a child with Rio.

Oh my god it’s here! The first chapter of my new fanfic! :D I hope y’all read it and enjoy it. It’s the first part of a new series of mine that will eventually lead to Jerrica and Pizzazz getting together. This first fic doesn’t fully lay down the groundwork for that, but it does set up some things that eventually lead to it.

It All Falls Apart Chapter 2

Here it is! The second chapter! :D It's around 15K words long. So definitely get nice and comfy before reading it.

The focus is on an awkward filming of a spy movie. The director has it out for Kimber, she suspects that one of the stuntmen was responsible for running her over four years ago, AND her shoulder is basically done for. And on top of it all, Stormer is out of town on tour.

Meanwhile Raya's mom sets her up on a date with a guy who's not as nice as Rosa thinks. But that's okay because Raya has a group of supportive dummies (affectionate) in her life.

Unbreakable Chapter 7

It's finally here! Not quite one year after the last update I have posted the final chapter of my four year long Jem fanfic project! 🥳 I'm so proud of myself for finishing this!

This final chapter is a whopping 17K words long. I debating splitting it in half but because of a gimmick this particular fic has with its chapters I couldn't really do that. So get nice and comfy and don't worry there's lots of good places to take a break from reading it.

Unbreakable is a fanfic where Kimber gets into a car accident and it follows her recovery from it. The focus is on her and her support network helping with recovering from the accident. The main ship is Stimber but there's some Aja/Craig sprinkled in here too. And a teeny-tiny hint of a budding attraction between Jerrica and Pizzazz.

Because I write scenes as I think of them I have a lot that I couldn't fit into this fic for one reason or another. I don't want to throw them all out so I'm going to be posting them on my Tumblr as Unbreakable Extras and those will have their own dedicated tag. They will not be going into the main Jem fandom tag. I felt this was the best way of going about that. I'll probably post one a day. Check in a week and everything will be up.

And that's about it. I have another fanfic project that I've been working on for almost as long. It's a series called "Like A Phoenix" and it's a collection of much shorter fics. The first one "It All Falls Apart" will only be two chapters long, for example. I hope to see you there when that gets released!

I haven't drawn humans in quite a while so I decided to try getting back into it with some Jem screenshot redraws. The order of them is pretty random. I just picked stuff that felt like it'd be fun to do.

I'm hoping to post more Jem fanart than I currently have been. I got a buttload of pencil crayons that I really like and I just want to keep using them.

By the way, I must tell you guys that I got the colour I used for most of Pizzazz's hair from a pack of "Colors of Kindness" pencil crayons. Pizzazz is the kindest character, clearly.

I got Colors Live for the Switch and wanted to test just how much detail I could put into a drawing. I’ve been wanting to draw (almost) middle-aged Kimber and Stormer at somebody’s wedding wearing really gorgeous dresses showing off their tattoos for quite a while now. And then I saw them, the perfect dresses. The timing was fantastic with me getting a shiny new art tool.

Seriously, I went from a resolution of 854x512 to 1920x1440. Nobody is even going to see that I shaded their opal rings with pink and blue. But I did! I could so I did! Man, now I won’t have to do small details in Paint and Kimber’s glasses can look nicer than they usually do. 

Anyway, Stormer can do subtle makeup, but that’s boring. Also she’s wearing a pink poinsettia in her hair.
