I also consider myself something of an authority on Pokéspe Sun and Moon (the characters not the arc) but Hop and Leon are the ones who are constantly living rent free in my brain and I keep their Bulbapedia pages open on both my laptop and my phone for easy reference.
Just for fun, lemme rattle off a fun fact about each of those characters off the top of my head:
- Despite being friends with Professor Kukui before the start of the arc, Sun doesn't meet Professor Burnet (aka Kukui's wife) until he's traveling from Akala to Ula'ula Island.
- Moon's team consists of five Pokémon: Decidueye, Alolan Muk, Mareanie, Charjabug, and Rotom. An argument can be made that any of them is her starter Pokémon. Decidueye was the starter that she received from Professor Kukui; Rotom was the first Pokémon that she appeared with; Charjabug was the first Pokémon that she was explicitly shown to have ownership of; Muk and Mareanie were both caught offscreen sometime between her arrival in Alola and her participation in the Full Force Festival, likely before she caught Grubbin.
- The logo on Hop's shirt, a stylized purple Boltund, is the logo of a company in Galar called DENSOKU that makes shoes. Fittingly, during his depression arc, Hop temporarily adds a Boltund to his team.
- In his official art, Leon's beard is the exact same color as his shirt. And his hat. And every other gray article of clothing in his outfit.
