I feel like there’s a misconception about why so many bumbleby shippers care so much about Yang and Blake’s eyes.
I’ve seen plenty of people try to apply the contrasting colors part of it to other pairings (usually Blake and Sun though I’ve even seen people try to use it for Yang and Weiss as well), but the contrasting colors is only a small part of it. Yes it’s interesting that their eyes complement each other, but the even bigger part is that their eyes reference each other.
Yang’s eyes are purple, a color heavily associated with Blake and that is potentially even the color of her soul (while we don’t know what color her aura is yet, her attacks incorporate a purple energy and given that Weiss’s aura is blue instead of white and her father’s is purple it’s very possible that rather than being black her aura might be purple. A dark purple most likely but still purple). Blake’s eyes are typically yellow but appear more orange in certain lights, both colors heavily associated with Yang and we know for a fact that Yang’s aura is yellow. In addition, both wear elements of those colors themselves. Yang has purple present on all of her major outfits, while Blake has started wearing gold accents as of volume 4.
Contrast that with the other fairly common example of Sun and Blake. Blake’s eyes are more yellow than orange but even aside from that the comparison is shallow. Even if they were orange orange isn’t a color associated with Sun (you could possibly try to twist it with his semblance but that’s a bit of a stretch) and blue is definitely not associated with Blake in any shape or form. Sun’s eyes aren’t even important enough to stay consistent between volumes which again detracts from claiming that their eyes are mismatched pairs.
A better example to look at is Ren and Nora. Ren’s eyes are pink like Nora’s color scheme and aura while Nora’s are green which while not the color of Ren’s aura is a color heavily associated with him (which makes Blake and Yang’s eyes still interesting even if Blake’s aura is black). Pink and green are also fairly close to being opposites as a bonus (seeing as red and green are traditionally contrasting colors). Their eyes are contrasting but there’s more to it then just that; they also match each other, as is the case with Blake and Yang.
((Anyone still comes on Tumblr now and days? No? Just me? I know I’ve been gone for 2 months but that’s due to work and not really feeling the mood to come on. I’m pretty sure I have on thread going on but I think everything else got dropped. -shrugs- I’ll lurk around, maybe send stuffs. Depending on how active my dash is. Who knows!))

Whenever I feel sad I always go back to those letters RK sent me.. they make me feel a little bit better.
As soon as I heard Emily/Corvo singing Drunken Whaler I tried to sync it up as best I could. They’re beautiful together. My precious babies.
Ok so ‘m not totally sure if I’m supposed to do this, but I gave Error a stupid monologue in this vid.
I have a problem.
But lemme make it clear that I DID NOT MAKE THE VIDEO!! and I’m not trying to steal it. I just wanted to be dumb for a bit.
go like the original, since @jakei95 made it, which is really super dang cool considering that animation is ridiculously hard.
