Gaster blinked, baffled. "A.. boyfriend?" That was.. some rather random information. It took a moment for the lengthy skeleton to process the statement.

"A boyfriend?!" It had clicked. "Who? Can I meet him? When did you start dating? Why wasn't I told sooner!" The rapid attack of questions only quicked as Gaster got more excited. It was so rare to see the massive grin on his face, and the glint in his one eyelight. He was speaking so fast that he wouldn't be at all surprised if Papyrus couldn't understand his already mess of a Font.

Sans couldn’t help the giggle that left him as he saw Papyrus struggling with his now far too big cape. He moved to help his younger brother with it, easily untangling it from Papyrus.

{SANS} ---- “wow pap. this is pretty red-iculous. When did you get so small?”

          frisk has never been one for cooking, if only because their last attempt to do so ended with someone’s house on fire. but it’s hard to say no to a friend offering to help improve one’s culinary skills (or lack thereof) — especially when that friend is someone like papyrus. so it’s with reluctant, careful hands that they begin completing the task so graciously given to them, fingers plucking one— two— three— four strands of noodles at a time before depositing them into the pot on the kitchen stove.

          it’s not long before they find themselves yawning in the midst of such frustratingly repetitive work, eyes fixed on an oddly blurry point on the wall and mind wandering to...well, something other than placing long noodles in big pots.

          which, you know, is perhaps (just perhaps!) not the best thing to do when you’re looming over a pot of bubbling, boiling water.

                    ❝ ngh—! ❞ hot water hurts.

Gaster froze as bony fingers wrapped around the hole in his hand. Pain and emotional shutdown raced through his body as he desperately pulled his hand away, a strangled wheeze escaping him.

When his hand was free, Gaster released a breath he hadn't realized his non-existant lungs had been screaming for. The scientist's vision was no longer dark with fear, and it was then that he registered just who had tried to grab at his hand.

Gaster's good eye socket widened as he took in Papyrus's startled features. "I- Papyrus? I'm sorry. Are you..?" He was still having a hard time focusing on things other than the way his old war wound was pulsing. "Sorry." The scientist flinched at the sound of his own grating voice as it echoed in his skull.
