Only had a partial domino set with me when tutoring the 5 yr old today. I couldn't guarantee that we'd have enough matching numbers. So we played a modified game. I had her count the dots and then tell me what was one less and one more than the numbers available. I wrote them on a white board. And accepted as a match any of those numbers. It was a fantastic mathematics practice and could be used with a number line, or 100 chart.
