H has brought home some worksheets from school where he fills in the missing number in a sequence…and he’s definitely struggling a bit when he gets into the higher numbers. . So I hung our number chart, which he is familiar with, and just let it sit there … he and M both naturally started counting and identifying the numbers on their own. . Next step: for the last few days, when they get home from school, I’ve pulled a few different cards out for him to replace. He loves this new “game” — its challenging but not frustrating. . Then, in another week or so, I plan to cut up some dry erase sentence strips into squares and start letting him write the numbers and place them in the right spot. Less “multiple choice” and more “free response” 😉 and will better mirror what he’s being asked to do on those worksheets! . #earlymathskills #kindergartenmath #sequencingnumbers https://www.instagram.com/p/CVWanbJFoTI/?utm_medium=tumblr
