Pipe up and be heard
Mixing the traditional with the modern, an Australian programmer has developed a system that allows a four-storey classical pipe organ to be controlled using the conductor’s hand gestures. The Kinectar software uses a Kinect motion sensor and sees different hand movements translated into different notes from the MIDI enabled instrument. Another example to prove that Kinect technology has an abundance of innovative uses outside of the gaming world.
