BANKS - Begging for Thread (Pieces of Juno Remix)
In collaboration with the Nordic Playlist, Kine Jensen of Pieces of Juno put together a fantastic list of glistening, night-time tracks burgeoning with hip-hop infused sounds and snappy beats. Of particular note is her sharp, staccato reworking of BANKS' "Begging for Thread" chopping through dark vocal loops with Pieces of Juno's whimsical harp-like sounds.

Pieces of Juno - Saffron
Photo: Tonje Thilesen
Taking us to the backwoods of rural Norway is Pieces of Juno's video debut for "Saffron". A track full of twists and turns, "Saffron" details a morning run gone awry. Like the yellowish spice, "Saffron" is one of differing contrasts with the palate of lightly-seasoned track switching from the gentle ruffling of quick arpeggios and soft coos to the track's deeper crushing synth keys.

Excessive Bass - #SwaggoMyEggo (feat. Kine Jensen)
When we first read about Kine Jensen of Pieces of Juno (ex-Kinee), there's been a line floating around about having one foot in the jazz club and another in the nightclub. Well the young Norwegian does exactly that in her newest collaboration with LA's Excessive Bass titled "#SwaggoMyEggo" (yes, the song title actually has a hashtag in it). Between the all the wavy and massive bass, Kine's gentle blues jumps between the two worlds in one thick and syrupy electronic track.

Pieces of Juno - Drizzy - Swede + Sour Exclusive
Taking inspiration from Canadian rapper Drake, is Norwegian artist Kine Jensen's newest dark-pop project Pieces of Juno with her latest track "Drizzy". Jensen which covers the chorus of Drake's "Successful" on money, cars and hoes, says the track was a result of blending those overly emotional thoughts without overdoing it. In an almost sarcastic manner, Jensen's tragic vocals swoon over the synthesized drum kick despair and her fatalistic interpretations of rapper Drake's glorified material ambitions. "I feel like the original intentions of the track were very emotional, in a weird kind of way", says Jensen, "but I didn't want to overdo it, it just feels right and sometimes I just wanna be a little dirty". Pieces of Juno - Ghostwriting ☯ (Album Stream)
Following up with our previous post, is Norwegian songstress Kine Jensen's latest electronic music project Pieces of Juno. Written out of spontaneity, Kine's latest project is almost entirely instrumental, combining her thin vocal slices over mystic melodies and trap rap trills. Her short three track EP, "Ghostwriting ☯" jumps between the Orientalist sound of "Nonchalant"; the voice-warping sound and rapid drum kicks of "Telly" to the tumblrwave sound of her witch-house-fused "Tristesse" with its gun-clicks, ghost noises and what not. No real theme here, but as Kine tells us, its a way of keeping music fun and never too personal and just doing it without over thinking. Although purely unintentional, when asked why she decided to release her beats on Women's Day, Jensen jokes, "It's very politically correct of me to release my beats on Women's Day, although I didn't think about it really".
