Thank you very much.
Warding off the Evil Eye
The fig sign is a mildly obscene gesture used at least since the Roman Age in Italy, Southern Europe, parts of the Mediterranean region, including in Turkish culture, and has also been adopted by Slavic cultures and South Africa.
The gesture uses a thumb wedged in between two fingers.
This gesture is most commonly used to ward off the evil eye, insult someone, or deny a request.
In ancient Rome, the fig sign, or manu fica, was made by the pater familias to ward off the evil spirits of the dead as a part of the Lemuria ritual.
Vuelo de Brujas (Witches’ Flight)
Fracisco Goya At center point are three semi-nude witches wearing penitential coroza bearing aloft a writhing nude figure, their mouths close to their victim, as if to devour him or suck his blood.
Below, two figures in peasants' garb recoil from the spectacle: one has thrown himself to the ground covering his ears, the other attempts to escape by covering himself with a blanket, making the fig hand gesture to ward off the evil eye.
WIRE SCULPTURE
So the sculpture is coming along quite nice, and I really like what the mask added to it. I really wanted to make copies of the mask using different materials but I’m limited not being able to use the facilities at LSAD so this will do for the time being.
I’m really enjoying experimenting with light and I’m getting all sorts of ideas for a possible installation. Going to develop it more and get some more concrete ideas now, but I’m liking the idea of studying body language in animatronics and A.I. technology, or what it is to move like a human.

So, today I found another subject I would love to major in: kinesics, the study of human body language. I've always been good at telling how a person is feeling based on their body language, and so now I'm supper excited to find I can major in this. Adding another topic I'm going to study to my list.
