King Cornelius of the Moray
"The Little Mermaid" Limited Edition comics, "Serpent Teen"
I was listening to Imagine Dragons on repeat again. Realized it’s very very good for my campaigns main antagonist.
Cornelius pushes his family away under the misguided ideal of protecting them.
He starts wars, creates famines, all to gain more for his kingdom. His sweet demeanor becomes an all consuming power-hunger. One that not even his most loved ones can distract from.
After all, they’re why he’s doing all this… right?
Is he to blame for his actions? Of course.
Is he the only one at fault?
Maybe not.
The Moray, an isolated race of eel-merfolk, in the comic two-parter "Serpent Teen."
also something I feel stupid for not knowing until now is both me and the Horned King are named Cornelius (I switched from Savannah to Cornelius when I started socially transitioning and just thought it sounded very handsome)
ALL HAIL THE CORN KING!
Nah, I tend to overlook minute details for the longest as well. Brain is not dumb, just overworked~.
It is a very dignified, handsome moniker, yes.
A wip for this Tuesday. My kings have really had a rough year. They need a lil TLC
Caven steps up on her toes and begins to float up raising her paw as she goes.
“Oh well. At least it all worked out for me.”
She says with a grin as Cornelius opens his eyes. Sick purple light pours out of them as he moves like a marionette between you and Caven. He manifests his great sword.
The corpses of the dead priests and priests rise too becoming ghoulish and they shriek.
Roll for initiative.
Ponder the question What If…?
What if the party never rescued Dresden from Ko’aan?
They made do. The learned what they could from the evil King Bezealous before killing him and taking control of his kingdom.
Now all they have left to drive them is revenge against the older brother that abandoned them.
