This man loves his kids so much. He has 12 daughters. That's so fucking many. But also. He's a widower. And the youngest of his daughters (the triplets, Janessa, Kathleen, and Lacey) don't seem to remember their mother at all. 🤨

The only canon ages we have in the movie are that Genevieve (Barbie's character) is 16 and the triplets turn 5 in the movie. Genevieve is the 7th daughter, and the only birth between her and the triplets is the twins, Isla and Hadley. There's a popular headcanon chart for the princesses ages that says the twins are 13 and I'd be inclined to agree that they look 12 or 13.

BUT YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT ISLA AND HADLEY REMEMBER THEIR MOTHER AND JANESSA AND KATHLEEN AND LACEY DON'T??? All answers point to King Randolph having birthed the triplets, if not many other of his daughters.

SURE it could just be that Queen Isabella died in childbirth when the triplets were born and that's why they don't remember her but YOU'RE TELLING ME SHE HAD NINE HEALTHY PREGNANCIES, THE LATTER TWO OF WHICH WERE MULTIPLES???? Ain't no way. Randolph and Isabella were in on it together.

We joke about how Violet and Edmund Bridgerton were trying to have a whole alphabet worth of children, and it has made me realise that Randolph and Isabella from Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses were clearly trying to do the same thing. They almost made it halfway, too

Sorry this took so long. Hope you enjoy!

I didn't think much of him before, but I did notice how much I like him on my last watch through. He is really sweet with his daughters. He has a nice playfulness and sense of humor. I never got the vibe he wanted to change or control his girls, just that he was worried about them and doing what he thought best. And he was happy to learn from his mistakes at the end. He's one of the good ones.

I would just like to say that in my very humble opinion:

Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses is a perfect movie.

Fights me on this. I dare you.

From the 12 princesses and the ridiculously princess-like names, the over supplication of the plot line and the creepy monkey named Brutus (of all things) to the utter beauty that is the soundtrack. I’ll say it again. It’s a perfect movie.

I don’t care old how I get. I will always rewatch this one.
